Lost star Matthew Fox is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Details magazine wherein he talks to the mag about, among other things, a future after the series ends its run. Here is Matthew‘s coverphoto and some quotes from his probing interview:

On ‘Lost’ coming to an end: “Personally, it’s a relief … I owe this show a great amount, and I think it’s exceptionally good … [but] I am looking forward to the freedom that comes with not working on one project professionally.”
On the ‘Lost’ series finale: “This show started with a plane crash on an island in the South Pacific, and it’s going to have a very global and epic ending.”
On moving to Oregon: “My major motivation is to be closer to family. My brother is there, my mother is there … I really miss that kind of wide-open space.”
This is a lot of ecstatic waxing on the eve of the debut of the next season. It sounds like Matthew has really thought long and hard about the time in his life after he leaves the island and Lost behind him for good. After the jump, check out another photo of Matthew from this issue of Details magazine along with a couple of screenshots from his video interview with the mag …

Click HERE to watch Matthew‘s video interview online … he answers a bunch of really great questions, including which members from the cast of Party of Five he still keeps in contact with. I’m curious to see what the Lost folks have cooked up for the coming season … they managed to win me back during the last truncated season but so much time has passed from the days when it was a pop cultural phenomenon … I just don’t know that they can ever get the hype back up that high again. I’ll go into the next season with an open mind but … they gotta bring it.

Le sigh….I love him…
Did you see “Smoking Aces” a couple years ago…his character was such a lame in that movie!
Oooh, he looks good! I’m so ecstatic for the premiere next week!
Oregon huh? Wonder what part. That’s where I live… kinda cool.
How old is Matt? He seems to be getting a tad wrinkly before his time.
Don’t get me wrong I am still moving to Oregon to snag me a Charlie. :D
Are you kidding Trent? LOST is one of the few shows that season after season had been able to maintain its momentum. The almost jumped the shark at the beginning of season 3, but after they announced there will only be 6 seasons, they got their mojo back.
And LOST will be forever remembered as the first show you had to watch on HD and Tivo. To see all the easter eggs, to pause it, and to rewatch it again.
I really like the black and white photo!
Ella, I think he’s in his early forties.
He’s aging like fine wine. Hotness!
Guess I’m moving to Oregon….
He is DEFINITELY aging well. I’ve always thought he was sexay! MMM – yummy!
He lives in Bend, Oregon.
Ohh my grandparents live in Bend. I believe I am due for a visit:)
I worked with him on Lost and I have to say he’s one of the most unpleasant person I’ve met in the business. He rarely spoke to the crew, was rude to my staff, and was pretty much a pill. It was in such contrast to the friendlier actors, who went out of their way to make the crew feel appreciated. And he was being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars more than anyone else. Oregon, you can have him!
