Hayden Panettiere & Milo Ventimiglia Do Bora Bora
Here are a few supercute pics of lovebirds Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia spending a little vacation time together on the romantic isle getaway of Bora Bora in French Polynesia this week:
Good looking, toned and talented - Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventimiglia looked every inch the superhero couple as they walked hand in hand along the beach. The pair, who both star in the science fiction drama Heroes, are enjoying a romantic break on the French Polynesian island of Bora Bora. Despite dating for more than a year, it is rare for the couple to be spotted together in public. It emerged the pair, who have a 12-year age gap between them, were dating in January last year. Rumours first circulated when they were seen smooching at an Emmys party in September 2007 and by the end of the year they were regularly seen out together at showbiz events. Milo, 31, had previously denied rumours when asked about reports of a possible romance with the 18-year-old actress. He said: “She and I are close friends. It’s only natural that people are going to couple us together.” The couple met on the set of superhero drama Heroes and they enjoy a close relationship on as well as off screen.
Nice to see that the couple are still happily attached. Because we don’t see them out and about very often it’s hard to tell how things are going (we last saw the pair in public together back before Halloween). I’d say these new pics of the couple on holiday together is a very good sign that things are coming along swimmingly with the couple. I like them together … they make a nice match. Here’s hoping that 2009 will be a very good one for HaLo … as it stands, it looks like they’ve got the New Year off to a great start!

SOOOO GROSS!! People criticize a 16 year old who’s dating a 20 year old, but we turn the other cheek when a girl who JUST turns 18 and starts dating a 30 year old?!?! OHHHHKKKKAAAAYYY. Remember when little Hayden was slutting it up at age 15 with a then 18 year old Steeeephen? Nobody had a problem with that. HYPOCRITES. And I’m not even a Miley fan. People just boggle my mind!

I hate to agree with Allie because I always try to come to your defense, Trent, but what exactly is the difference between Miley and Justin and Hayden and Milo? At 18, yes Hayden’s an adult but there’s also a 12 year gap in her relationship.
I realize that you love Halo but you have to stop being hypocritical about people’s relationships.
Like I said, I usually tell people “hey this is Trent’s blog, he can write what he wants” but it’s also kind of annoying seeing you tear Miley and Justin a new one and yet somehow Hayden and Milo get a free pass.

OK, I know Hayden’s technically (barely) a legal adult at 18, and she is a cute girl and all, but I’m totally creeped out by the fact that Milo was waiting for her to turn 18 and they all of a sudden are dating. True she’s legal, but the age difference is pretty gross. An 18 year old is still a baby! I’m 29 and wouldn’t even date a 23 year old because he’d be too immature for me.

The difference between Miley and her guy and Hayden and Milo is that Halo’s relationship is one between two adults.
I find them cute together so I obviously don’t see anything wrong with their relationship. I can’t judge on their age difference. Here’s my view on things: If they’re in love and it doesn’t hurt anyone then why the hang ups? Let people be in love and be happy.

Hayden might be an adult, but barely. There is not much difference between a 16 year old and an 18 year old (keep in mind the article said they’ve been together a year more if you count sept 2007). People don’t magically get more mature and change because the turn 18. T
Miley is 16 and as long as she doesn’t sleep with the guy isn’t breaking any rules. so why is their 4 year age gap creep and wrong and this 12 year one is cute and loveable?

Just like turning 18 (which is the age she was when they started dating; she’s 19 now) doesn’t automatically make you mature it also doesn’t automatically make her too immature to be in the relationship. I don’t know Hayden and I don’t know her life experiences and I also don’t now how mature she is. I can only see it from the outside looking in: they look happy. I’m not going to call it creepy because I don’t know how their relationship works. All I know is that it is legal and they look cute together.
The Miley relationship is wrong, not because the age difference but because if they were to enjoy every aspect of a relationship it would land him in jail. The same won’t happen to Milo, see the difference?

So, it was alright when a then 15 year old Hayden was dating a then “grown ass man” 18 year old Stephen?!?!?! But, Miley at the age of 16, can’t date a 20 year old?! It makes no sense. She broke up with Stephen literally RIGHT after she turned 18, and started dating Milo. Yes, Hayden is NOW 19. Milo is NOW 31. If you can’t judge Halo’s relationship looking on from the outside, don’t you find it unfair to judge Miley’s from the outside?!?! She’s doing the same thing as dear Hayden!! @Allie - first off, no one is judging anything — at least, I’m not. second, no it is never alright for an underage person to date an adult — so your 15 dating an 18 year old scenario is just as wrong (ie. illegal) as a 16 year old dating a 20 year old. An 18 or 19 year old is of age and can date whomever they choose.

Trent… so it is wrong for a 17 year old to date an 18 year old? What if it is 17 and 364 days and 18 and 1 day? What if they cross over into any other free country in the world –everywhere else it is 16 or less — or one of the 45+ US states where 16/20 is not illegal. It suddenly becomes moral?
I don’t care about Miley and Justin at all, but I don’t think their relationship is wierd or wrong. Age of consent laws rightly exist to protect people who are unable to formulate consent. They do not exist to dictate the sexual morality of genuinely consensual relationships. I don’t think there can be debate as to whether Miley/Justin is consensual.
“It is wrong because it is illegal” ought to be a very disturbing argument to anyone concerned with civil rights.
*ANYWAY* back to Halo…
I love Halo as a couple bcause they look really happy together and seem genuinely to care for one another. They seem to have real smiles on their faces when around one another… not just posing for the cameras.

Agreed that the law does not perfectly conform with morality. My argument was that some things that are illegal are not wrong. And some things that are wrong are not illegal. The legal status of something changes over time and place. Sex before marriage is illegal in some parts of the world. Homosexual sex is illegal in some parts of the world — in many parts of the US up until about 20 years ago. But that is not an argument as to why either is wrong.
I don’t think it is wrong for 16 year old girls to date. In all cases, the state of CA does, whether it is another 16 year old guy, or a 19 or 20 year old guy, both are comitting rape… unless they are married to the girl, in which case it would be fine. You see… the law is dumb. That is my point. This is the same law that says it is not rape even if a husband forces himself upon his wife. You see? Dumb law.
On the Miley/Justin question that came up… again… on this topic of a couple (Halo) that I really like… I don’t thik it is wrong. When I was 17 the girl I was hanging out with was 27; I didn’t think t was wrong then, I don’t think it was wrong now. My argument is that the law *ought to* be crafted to stay out of as many consensual relationships as humanly possible while still protecting those who need protecting. Miley, from what I can tell, needs no protection from Justin. (double meaning not intended.)

Take a chill pill Trent, I wasn’t even talking to you. I was talking to mulitiple people. Someone said they don’t want to judge a relationship looking on from the outside…. but then turned around and judged Miley for DATING, because we do NOT know for a fact that they are sleeping together, a 20 year old. Secondly, didn’t you used to think Stephen and Hayden were cute as a couple? I think I recall seeing that on this site, and recall seeing positive remarks from commenters. Now, how come that illegal relationship is cute and Miley & Justin not? It’s hypocritical! And if Miley were to turn 18 tomorrow and start dating a 30 year old, ALL HELL WOULD break loose. That’s all I have to say about that…. :)

You misunderstand Allie. The Miley/model boyfriend (sorry I don’t know his name) has legal implications the same way that a Hayden/Stephen relationship did. It’s not looked at more harshly because she’s Miley. Notice I didn’t call their relationship creepy or judge the type of people they are. I said it was wrong in that a legal adult is dating someone the law doesn’t deem an adult. Basically, All I’m saying is if he’s caught with his wee wee in her woo hoo he’s in trouble. However the pictures are of Milo and Hayden: two legal adults. Not Miley and dude.

Its not wrong if the are not having sex. Since we don’t know if they are or not the relationship is perfectly legal and normal. I don’t like Miley and Justin but their age difference makes more sense than Hayden and Milo.
We shouldn’t discriminate against anybodys relationship if everything is legal, and I would have thought people in this blog would understand that more than people. But it just goes to show you how close minded people can be even when they preach the opposite.

I think the issue is that grown, adult men are looking at teenage girls in a sexual way, and may be acting on it (”may” in Miley’s case). That’s how Miley/Justin & Hayden/Milo’s situations are related - whether they are 12 years apart in age or 4 years apart, these are adults interested in teenagers.
My 17 year old cousin “waited” to date her 30 year old boyfriend and now 3 years later, they have a kid, then got married. I didn’t and still don’t understand what she would want with a man 13 years older, and he’d want with her. How would they have anything in common, since they basically grew up in different decades, eras? I think of it as, “At 17, would this guy have dated a my 4 year old cousin?” Or when he was 25, would he have given a second look to a 13 year old? Well, probably!!! Cause at 30, he thought it was fine to date a highschool senior.
I still think the whole adult/teenage thing is creepy but I guess it works for the people involved.

Poor trent, there are too many kids coming here reading your blog, are middle schoolers allowed here? okay just me( I know you love him trent) but I don’t get the supposed hotness of this milo guy, Im not seeing it. I think people should just let the relationship run it’s course, they may stay together , they may not, but my true and honest guess is that hayden will be the one to be the dumper, not the dumpee. Hayden is very young and less experiences, Im sure they have a good relationship and it will be a learning experience when they break up, her star can rise and probably will, and his will decline in time, that’s just what happens, as she rises she’ll meet other stars, other men will take interest, nature of the beast in hollywood, don’t expect it to end in marriage, but I have a feeling they are both nice people.
