‘Give It A Bone’
The TV Guide

Yesterday started out promising in that David and I talked briefly about “going out” and “doing something” but in the end … that’s not at all what happened. David’s sister Lara came by the apartment to hang out with us and also seemed interested in going out … for dinner at least. We decided to order food to be delivered and that was the end of that. We watched a bunch of Friends episodes until Lara got tuckered and went back to their sister Eden’s apartment for the rest of the night. David and I, again, talked about going out but … ended up watching the entire 4th season of the original Aussie version of Kath & Kim:

Now we are both fully caught up with the original series and have no need to watch the US version anymore. Again, the US version is a’ight, I guess but it cannot hold a candle to the original OZ version. Now all we have to do is wait for the next season of new eps ;) As much as I kinda wanted to go out last night … it just wasn’t meant to be.

But tonight, we are deffo braving the cold and venturing out … we have tickets to see Billy Elliot the Musical on Broadway. We wanted to see Billy Elliot when we were in London, England over the Summer but it didn’t work out … and since this will be my last trip to NYC for a long time, well, I wanted to squeeze in a Broadway show while I had the time. It should be fun … I’ve heard great things.

I always have a problem with shows that get brought to the US from other countries. My favorite UK show in ages, Gavin & Stacey, is being brought to the US and even though the 2 people who created it will be behind it I still have no need to see it. It will be destroyed somehow.

  3. DAVID says:

Where can I buy the AUS version of Kath and Kim in AMERICA?????

You will LOVE Billy Elliot. I saw it a few weeks ago here in NY and it is astonishing. I saw David Alvarez in the lead and his talent is beyond words. All 3 Billys are fantastic, though! Please post a review tomorrow; I’m curious to see how you like it!

As a proud australian Kath & Kim fan, im so glad you’ve chosen the original over the crappy american version! good choice Trent!

Have you and David also caught up with the tele-movie they did before season four? Its called Da Kath & Kim Code… just incase you guys missed it!

Aren’t Trude and Prue graysh? It’s funny to see how those characters came about, which was on an older sketch comedy show called Something Stupid in sketches called “Happy Homewares.” In those days, Trude and Prue were Jude and Jan, and there was a third gal named Pip, played by Marg Downey.

Here’s the only one I could find: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifyLTKZvuqc
