David’s ‘Going Away’ Party
Surprise! I’m in NYC this weekend ;) I decided to fly out to NYC on Friday afternoon to make a surprise appearance at David’s Going Away Party which was held here in the West Village last night. After surprising David, we decided to keep the news quiet so that we could surprise his friends as well … everything went off without a hitch and a grand time was had by all. I took more Polaroids than digital but here are some of the photos that I snapped last night:
David’s bit party was held in the back room at Sweetie Pie, this fab new place on Greenwich Ave. The food and drink was divine (I believe absinthe was had, even) and everyone had a great time saying goodbye to David. I love his friends so much … and I really appreciate that they don’t hate me for taking him away to LA. My time here in NY is short, I fly back to LA in a couple of hours. I know I mentioned many times that I was looking forward to no more flying but I had to make one last exception to be with David for his party.
Next weekend, he flies out to LA to live with me forever :)
David and I are gonna try and meet up with his sisters for a quick brunch before I have to fly back home. Hope your weekend has been fun and full of surprises ;)

Well, going to live in LA when you’re a New Yorker is a tough decision. Everyone knows that New Yorkers hate LA! Still, the weather is much better Westside and its also cheaper to live. New York is so damn expensive to live in now.

I bet he was surprised. I’m sure you guys will be back for visits now and then. Plus the planes fly both ways, so they can also come visit you. Sounds like things are moving right along.

while it sounds like a sweet idea to surprise your boo with your presence at his going away party in NYC in YOUR mind, it’s actually a bad idea. yo, homeboy is about to leave that place & say goodbye to some close pals because he is joining his boyfriend across the country – give him his moment to have some QT with his pals. duh. you are about to have him all to yourself. there is no need for you to go and whisk him away. I mean how old are we? let him have some time alone with his pals.
