David Beckham Buys Wife Victoria A £80,000 Purse
Victoria Beckham is a very lucky woman. Not only is she married to arguably the hottest soccer player on Earth, one David Beckham, but she’s also married to a guy who is willing to spend £80,000 on a single gift for her to show his appreciation and love for her … in the form of an Hermès Birkin Himalayan handbag. Whether it’s love or overly exaggerated wasteful spending, Becks decided that his wife was worth owning one of the most exclusive purses in the world … which she happily showed off at Becks‘ debut soccer match as a new member of Italian soccer team AC Milan earlier this week:

It cost £10,000 more than a flat up for sale in Victoria’s home town of Harlow, Essex. Posh, 34, showed off her new piece of kit for the first time as Becks made his debut for AC Milan in Dubai. It is named after British-born French actress JANE BIRKIN and has hundreds of diamonds, including a three-carat sparkler on the lock. The bag cost nearly a week’s pay for Becks, 33, while he is playing for Milan — and he and his team-mates looked like fashion victims in Rome yesterday as they wore matching Dolce & Gabbana jackets. A source said: “It’s not as easy as everyone would think for David buying his missus a present every year. She is the woman with everything. But David knows the French fashion house is her favourite and he sorted the gift in Los Angeles from one of the few powerful fashion buyers who could get one. She was delighted, a relief at that price.” Customers must wait six years for some Birkin pieces. But the waiting list for the Himalayan is closed — and those already on it have to wait four years.
Damn. That’s one pricey accessory. I cannot imagine carrying around a bag that is equal to the cost of an entire home but, then again, I cannot imagine what it must be like to be married to David Beckham either. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again … Vicki B. is one lucky beyotch!

I choose to believe that they’re just doing their part to keep the world economy afloat in these difficult times. Coming from a more humble background I have to say that if I laid that kind of money down on something it had better be able to fit at least 4 people comfortably.

This goes to show how totally insecure these people really are and you’re right, they are out of touch with reality. What an absolute waste of money! David shouls have donated it to some homeless shelters or cancer charity. Fucking insane!
Harlow in Essex is a total dump, in case any of you have never heard of it. That’s why Joel Madden and Nicole Richie made a mistake naming their daughter something so unattractive.

Yeah, it’s a lot of money, but it’s just a drop in he bucket to them. And as somebody said, they’re helping to keep the economy afloat with their spending. Why should they donate money to shelters or whatever just because they have it? Why can’t they spend it on extravagances? I’m sure they do their bit for charity…a lot of celebs do without fanfare and bringing attention to themselves (hello Brangelina).
And I’m pretty sure that Nicole and Joel would have named their baby after the actress Jean Harlow and not some place in Britain that nobody knows where it is.

Yes, they did name Harlow after Jean Harlow, but it’s still not a flattering name. Winter Madden would sound better (that’s her middle name). If you were from the UK and knew what kind of place Harlow was, you would know what I mean!

David and Victoria have been this over the top since their disgustingly extravagant wedding– it’s sad that they don’t get how vulgar and just plain insensitive it is to flaunt their insane wealth in such a pathetic way. It’s a goddamned purse. A purse that costs more than a college education. Sick, sick, sick. And for them to do this when the global economy is in such a precarious state and people are so afraid of losing their jobs, their healthcare, their homes– does she think she’s friggin’ Marie Antoinette? And they wonder why some people cannot stand them. Nauseating.

There should be a point where their conscience says “yeah this is just way too much money for a fucking purse, we are total douchebags”. Just because they have that much money doesn’t mean they should give it all to the poor, but at the same time they should at least have a moral compass.

I just read where they lost $10m in the credit crunch. It obviously didn’t make that much difference to them.
David may have forked out an obscene amount of money for a handbag (which I love!), but Hermes put the price on it.
