Early last month, we learned that Clay Aiken started up a romantic relationship with fellow Broadway thespian Reed Kelly … his first boyfriend since coming out of the closet on the cover of People magazine last September. Once we found out who Clay was dating, we also were treated with a few photos that gave hints as to what attracted Clay to Reed in the first place (bendy = good). Today we get to check out a batch of really cute photobooth pictures of the couple in all sorts of adorable poses which were taken at the closing night party for Spamalot (the Broadway musical that brought the lovebirds together) in NYC:
Firstly, I’m glad to see that the boys are still happily together. These pics are really very cute … even tho they don’t really look that well-matched to me. The cardigan and bow tie combo would look hawt on most guys … on Clay, well, it’s not hot. The kissy photos are just sickeningly adorable. But, I think the most telling photo about the relationship between these two is the last photo … Clay is on top. Yeah, I don’t think we really need to discuss that fact any further, wouldn’t you agree? In any event, I do like this set of photos … it’s really great to see Clay looking so happy. He finally looks truly happy — and I am happy for him.

First off, these photos were supposed to be private. Jeesh, all you naysayers — do YOU all act like little goodie-two-shoes in private, amongst friends? Clay’s public persona and his private life are two separate things. Secondly, what difference does his orientation make just because he’s the head of a “children’s charity” ??? Or do you think that someone who is gay can’t possibly do good things?
Shame on the person who made these private photos public, but shame on all of you bigots, too. Thank goodness we have an enlightened administration in D.C. now!!!
Although it is sad that these pictures were not kept private as they were meant to be, I say “YOU GO CLAY.” Loved you since 2003 and can’t wait to see Reed in Wicked someday.

I am sure we all have had our pictures taken and hoped they weren’t on public display. It’s too bad that celebrities are not entitled to the same privacy we all demand and expect.
I don’t have a problem with the pictures and I am a big fan of Clay’s. Would I have preferred that they not be published openly? Definitely, yes, but do I feel the goofing around is wrong? Definitely, no.
All I hope is that Clay is happy and it certainly appears he is. He has done so much for so many that we all should hope for the best for him. He has not only talked the talk but he has walked the walk too. What he does in his PRIVATE LIFE people is none of our damn business. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. This is a totally sexually-neutered ‘Will & Grace’ photo-op. They each kiss the ‘other’ but never at the same time. It’s all for show as far as I can tell. I believe people in love, even in the public spotlight, kiss at the same time. For years, Clay was not gay. Suddenly he is gay, with babies, and his own Lullaby of Broadway. It feels calculated. Isn’t it strange that on the photobooth site there are hundreds of pictures from the party that night, with so many very famous people, and the ones that get out to the public are the pictures of Aiken? Sounds like some people are very determined to invade this guy’s privacy at any cost.
That said, I hope he doesn’t mind too much, because the pictures are cute and funny.
