Clay Aiken & Reed Kelly Pose For Cute Photobooth Pictures
Early last month, we learned that Clay Aiken started up a romantic relationship with fellow Broadway thespian Reed Kelly … his first boyfriend since coming out of the closet on the cover of People magazine last September. Once we found out who Clay was dating, we also were treated with a few photos that gave hints as to what attracted Clay to Reed in the first place (bendy = good). Today we get to check out a batch of really cute photobooth pictures of the couple in all sorts of adorable poses which were taken at the closing night party for Spamalot (the Broadway musical that brought the lovebirds together) in NYC:
Firstly, I’m glad to see that the boys are still happily together. These pics are really very cute … even tho they don’t really look that well-matched to me. The cardigan and bow tie combo would look hawt on most guys … on Clay, well, it’s not hot. The kissy photos are just sickeningly adorable. But, I think the most telling photo about the relationship between these two is the last photo … Clay is on top. Yeah, I don’t think we really need to discuss that fact any further, wouldn’t you agree? In any event, I do like this set of photos … it’s really great to see Clay looking so happy. He finally looks truly happy — and I am happy for him.

These pics are fine for private viewing. I personally have no problem with them except my 10 year old is a little young for the flipping the bird etc. There are also pics of Clay grabbing Merle’s (from Spamalot) boobs. I think these were meant to be kept private but nothing he does is private so sadly I have to say these are in poor taste for younger fans. Clay has to be conscious of this or mom’s like me will stop supporting him. I’m sincere. I enjoy Clay and think he is a great guy but I don’t want my kid to see these photos.

Andie– maybe he doesn’t need your support then. As a parent, you should be monitoring what your children are reading/watching/listening to. If you don’t want your children looking at these pictures, then don’t let them.
On a side note, these pictures are cute even though the look on Clay’s face in all of the pictures are freaking me out lol

Andie – What you said kind of bugs me. Do you complain when there are cute pictures of a straight couple posted? Probably not. Would you say that those were not suitable for “younger viewers?” Probably not. And the funny thing is… kids these days see/learn much worse than this (which I do not believe falls into the “worse” category whatsoever!) on the news at night or from their friends at school.
Aside from what clay is wearing, hehe, these pictures are very cute!

If someone has a problem with these photos of Clay having fun with his significant other in his private time, perhaps they should think about what they do in THEIR private time with their husband, spouse, girlfriend or boyfriend and then publish pictures of that for the world to see.
And, yes (!) parents SHOULD be monitoring what their children see – I highly doubt that these photos are going to be in Teen Magazine.
I’ve had some fantastic teachers in my life – what they do in the classroom has nothing to do with what they do in their living room or bedroom when they are not in front of a class.
Clay Aiken is a fantastic singer, a good humantarian, and a good person. I’m glad he finally had the courage to be his authentic self and I’m happy that he’s found someone he can share that with.

I love the pics – and my sister, who is 35 and a DIE HARD Claymate loves them as well. I think most Claymates will support him and have supported him since he came out, no matter what, because they love Clay’s personality – that’s what matters. Clay himself. So to “Andie” – go away. Regardless of who and what Clay Aiken really is, I think that he is most confused as to the persona that he wants to put out to the public. Pictures like this of anyone would detract from the dignity of a person who is espousing to be head of a children’s charity. Also this one new found pesona of his would probably not garner the respect that is needed for say an Ambassador for UNICEF or the donations that would come to support such a title. I feel the same way when I see Angelina and all of her tatoos …. they don’t convey a motherly trait for me but rather one of defiance and rebellion. So, her Ambassadorship with UNICEF and her almost frantic amassing of little children by adoption or through pregnancy is laughable and disrespectful to motherhood. Same for Clay Aiken. He has been pigeonholed into these totally different personas and it just appears now that he can’t make up his mind which he wants to be. Is he the devout Christian who reads and quotes scriputre from the Bible, is he the funny guy who flips birds and grabs boobs in public or is he the flippant gay man who is continuously on the prowl on the internet looking for hook ups? To be perfectly honest, none of them impress me. My opinion, for what it’s worth is that Clay needs to walk the walk and talk the talk once he has made up his mind what that will be. Right now he is just coming off as a crazy, psychotic loon just like Rosie O’Donnell. And that is nothing to brag about.

These pictures are adorable. They’re obviously from a private Spamalot after party and weren’t meant to be public but I’m glad we got to see them on here. The pictures show Clay and his boyfriend being goofy and comfortable with their fellow party goers. Anytime, you do these photo booth pictures, you can become vulnerable if strangers on the internet blogs are viewing and commenting on them. The internet can bring out meaness in commenters. I don’t see anything contradictory in Clay being a UNICEF and ambassador and having a private life…it would odd and sad if he didn’t.

Jen, I tried reading your whole entry, but it was so boring and stupid that I couldn’t get through it all at once. So I had to read it a part at a time so that the pure seething ignorance didn’t cause my heart to flutter. If kissing your boyfriend in public or having tattoos precludes one from volunteering their time and money to improve the lives of the less fortunate, than the only people who will suffer ARE the less fortunate. Since when does sexuality preclude one from reading and quoting from a sacred text? I sincerely doubt that Clay Aiken gives a flip about impressing you. People are many different things, all at the same time. Why don’t you try being a little more accepting of people for who they are, rather than who you believe they OUGHT to be? Bravo, Camille! The pictures are cute and funny. They were not meant to go out to public sites, but I don’t see any harm in them even if they do.
It amazes me that so-called intelligent people will read and believe tabloid stories, and then get all self-righteous about innocent, silly pictures. If you’re so holy, why are you reading tabloids and internet garbage? Don’t you know the biblical injunction against induldging in gossip?

Clay Aiken is a total freak. I love the flipping the bird pic, though. I think that’s the real Clay. Simon Cowell knew all along that Clay Aiken was a big fake. Not the best outfit I have ever seen Mr. Aiken wear, but he is a unique soul, so it’s nice to see him out there just being his true self. Having been dragged to one of his concerts by a friend a few years ago, I can attest he is capable of looking HOT when he want to. That was one of the funniest and most entertaining concerts I have ever attended. Get on with your bad self, Clay. Keep laughing all the way to the bank.

Clay knows he has young fans, they might miss out on the good seats at concerts because they’re at school when tickets go on sale, but they made it to Spamalot all the time. Lots of young fans at the stage door along with the older women and a few guys.

I’m not impressed….don’t get me wrong having fun goofy pictures are fine but flipping the bird after all the things he has said about his standards was enough for me. I wish he’d live what he says or don’t say anything because actions will always yell the loudest and he can look like an outright liar….over and over again. First off, these photos were supposed to be private. Jeesh, all you naysayers — do YOU all act like little goodie-two-shoes in private, amongst friends? Clay’s public persona and his private life are two separate things. Secondly, what difference does his orientation make just because he’s the head of a “children’s charity” ??? Or do you think that someone who is gay can’t possibly do good things?

I am sure we all have had our pictures taken and hoped they weren’t on public display. It’s too bad that celebrities are not entitled to the same privacy we all demand and expect.
I don’t have a problem with the pictures and I am a big fan of Clay’s. Would I have preferred that they not be published openly? Definitely, yes, but do I feel the goofing around is wrong? Definitely, no.
All I hope is that Clay is happy and it certainly appears he is. He has done so much for so many that we all should hope for the best for him. He has not only talked the talk but he has walked the walk too. What he does in his PRIVATE LIFE people is none of our damn business. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Judge not lest ye be judged and all that stuff. God only knows that I can’t and I can’t think of anyone I know who can.

This is a totally sexually-neutered ‘Will & Grace’ photo-op. They each kiss the ‘other’ but never at the same time. It’s all for show as far as I can tell. I believe people in love, even in the public spotlight, kiss at the same time. For years, Clay was not gay. Suddenly he is gay, with babies, and his own Lullaby of Broadway. It feels calculated. Isn’t it strange that on the photobooth site there are hundreds of pictures from the party that night, with so many very famous people, and the ones that get out to the public are the pictures of Aiken? Sounds like some people are very determined to invade this guy’s privacy at any cost.
That said, I hope he doesn’t mind too much, because the pictures are cute and funny.

Big Gay Clay is the one who caused lots of people to find these photos inappropriate by early on in his career professing to be a devout Christian who insisted on everything in his concerts and around him being “family-friendly.” Now he’s grabbing a woman’s boobs, flipping somebody the bird, etc. Not exactly family-friendly, now is it? I’m totally confused. What is it about Clay Aiken that gets people so heated?
I wrote one mildly scathing blog post on these pics and all of sudden it’s like paragraphs of crazy start popping up in the comments.

Unlikely that the photos were intended to remain private or they wouldn’t haven’t turned up here (or elsewhere). Like all others in show business it is important to keep your name and face out there and these pictures do exactly that. I haven’t a problem with any of the photos or of Clay just my opinion that the photos wouldn’t have surfaced if he hadn’t wanted them to. And, I totally understand why Clay originally denied being gay. He had no idea what type of career he would have if any and his education was in teaching special needs children. Had he originally admitted to being gay and his career had not taken off it would have been virtually impossible for him to go back home and resume his teaching career. However, he denied it for too long and too loudly !

I don’t think that a person desiring another of the same sex can really be a Christian. He may CALL himself or herself that, but they do not really love Christ, or they would stop this sinning during this life and repent. The hereafter is FOREVER and EVER.
