Celebrating President Obama In SoCal Style
Woot! Yesterday was a fine day here in the US and nowhere was that more apparent then right here in sunny and warm SoCal. Steph, Alek and I talked about throwing an Inauguration Pool Party at their place and managed to get a few friends together so that we could toast and celebrate our new president together. Because we held the get-together in the afternoon (while many folks were still at work), our number was small (and sadly devoid of many of the All-Stars from Le GangTM) but very, very happy. We even had a Barack Obama stand-up to party and pose for pictures with:

I knew that we’d have no problem drankin’ and partyin’ but I didn’t count on the great conversation that we all engaged in. We talked about the election, Hillary Clinton (and how much we love her), Michelle, Malia & Sasha Obama (and how much we really, really love them!) the promise of a hopeful future and the tough work ahead. It was just a really great party and I’m so glad that we managed to pull it all together.
After the sun went down, the party winded down. Steph, Alek and I ran out for a quick bite to eat before calling it a day … and what a day it was ;) I’m sending love and safe travel wishes to Steph who flies back to France to celebrate his goddaughter Eva’s first birthday. He’ll be gone for the week but I know he’s gonna have a blast. I loaded him up with a Polaroid camera and some film to bring back pics of Missy Eva :)
No plans for tonight … I have an appointment to make and then I’ll prolly start packing some of my stuff. Even tho I’m having movers do the bulk of the work, there are a few things that I want to pack myself before the big move on Feb 1. Lots to do … and time is running out :)

WOW! I am so jealous you y’all have pictures with Obama! How was he? He seems a little stiff.

Looks like you’re having great weather out there. The sky looks gorgeous. Here on the East, it’s pretty cold. Oh lord, when will it end?

Thanks for declaring your love for Hillary. It’s OK to love/support both her and Obama. They’re both great and we need them both working together to get us out of the darkness of the past 8 years. Go Hillary! Go Obama! Go USA!

For someone always slamming the celebrities for drinking and driving – it never seems to stop you from partying and then what you went out for a bit after your “dranking and partying” last night? You are such a hypocrite, Trent!

That crotch grabbing shot is disrespectful, and I usually laugh at pictures like that. Poor taste!

Yeah I’m with Lisa, that crotch shot is in really poor taste. Not funny at all and I usually laugh at that stuff too.

Not a hypocrite, just having fun but no one said he DROVE after partying. Even so…he may’ve STOPPED drinking long before. You don’t know because he didn’t say so stop judging before knowing.
Also…I laughed at the crotch grab, but maybe that’s just me….

I love your un-ending support of Hillary! Didn’t she look great yesterday! LOVE HER!
Love me some Jill Biden too…girl rocks it!

@Hypocrite — what? your comment doesn’t make much sense but I suspect you are accusing me of drinking and driving and I can assure you, that is never the case.

This looks like a totally fun afternoon at a great backyard! Thanks for sharing! My local bakery had been taking cake orders prior to Tuesday…little round cakes with Obama’s face on the top, lol. Tacky, but super fun. I wanted to order one so badly. :)
