Rolling Stone magazine is reporting that Britney Spears‘s latest album Circus has just been certified Platinum, which means that at least one million copies of the album have been sold in just the US alone:
Platinum was the theme of the week as Britney Spears’ Circus, Nickelback’s Dark Horse, Kanye West’s 808s & Heartbreak and the Twilight soundtrack all crossed the million-selling plateau on their way to charting at three through six, respectively.
Woot! Congrats goes out to our dear Britney on her latest Platinum Album accomplishment. Circus is a great disc, I’m very happy it has finally reached this plateau. Could 2009 turn out to be an even bigger year for Britney? I say, YES! I can’t wait to see what’s to come. Love and congrats again, Brit Brit!

Britney has sold 1,3 million copies in the US already but it took the IRAA a while to certify it…In the first week of January Circus had sold 1 million copies already.
I wonder how many copies she would sell if there was no leak, anyway it’s a great news :)
Ps: If ya look on the date for the RS article is says: December 31st lol….so Circus reached platinum really fast :)

I think she’ll be able to reach 2.5 mill once she officially releases If You Seek Amy as a single, she should also release Mannequin and Shattered Glass!
She needs to promote the freakin’ album. I love my Britney more than anything, but home girl needs to promote. I’m sure “IF U Seek Amy” will be a smash. It’s already hyped up due to the controversy. I think she should release: “Unusual You,” “Kill The Lights,” AND “MMM Papi.” <— just kidding ’bout the last one! LOL
I just wish she could go back in time and do something about Blackout. I still contend that Blackout is one of her best albums to date…even better than Circus. Circus just has a more cohesive theme and takes to the stage better imho.

I agree about Blackout as well. I wish she could have re-released it and promoted it and had Toy Soldier as a single! I freakin love that song. It could have made a KILLER video.
I haven’t bought an entire disc in years. I usually buy individual songs that I like, but I bought this one. I love it.
blackout is hands down the best album she’s ever done, tragic she wasn’t well enough to promote it properly…. would have gone double plat in no time! should have re-released it and had circus, womanizer and maybe kill the lights or shattered glass as bonus tracks!
you can listen to it front to back over and over and never get sick of it….. if i was stuck on an island and could only listen to one album it’d be blackout! lol
hope she plays a lot of songs from it on the circus tour cuz she’s cold as fire baby, hot as ice. if you’ve ever been to heaven this is twice as nice!
