Yikes!! She regains her sanity and this is what she’s rewarded with? I remember how depressed she was over the control she had in her life during the MTV documentary and now she’s been even more restricted. I really feel for her, the poor girl must feel so tied down. This is pretty upsetting news to me.

I have a “permanent” restraining order against some one…..it is only “permanent” for 5 years. The courts ruling is shocking, but its not really “permanent” I am still worried about Brit. I really feel (by looking at her in her photos and the look in her eyes) she would really like to quit all this music buisness stuff and just be a stay at home mom. I don’t see the drive and desire in her anymore. Its almost like she is ‘over it’

She is very protective of Preston- and to the people who keep saying she doesn’t ‘love him like Jayden’ thats BS. Jayden is her BABY so of course she is going to ‘hold’ him more. A lot of youngest children take longer to learn to walk b/c their parents won’t put them down. Its natural. She always has her arm around Preston in a very protective way. Britney is a natural mother and lives off her insincts. (doesn’t mean she is a GOOD mother) just very instinctual(sp) about it.

She has been through a lot with these boys. I wouldn’t doubt it if she holds them at night and rocks them while crying and telling them all her secrets. They are going to grow up and be great boys who will protect and care for her if she keeps up like she is with them. She spends every waking moment with them. Can’t say that for stupid KEVIN

I’m over it already, I’m always always gonna be a Britney fan, i’ve been a fan for 10 years, and don’t plan on stopping, but i’m sick of this conservatorship shit, She’s changed her life, she deservers to be Free, it’s so unfair, It was good for a while, cause she needed it, but it’s been enough, I wouldn’t stop supporting her if she said she was thru’ with everything, and didn’t want to do the Tour, i want her to be happy more than to be the #1 star in everything, yes it’s cool to have her on top of the charts, but it’s way cooler to she her smile, and to see her kids smile with her… :(

P.S. She looks Amazing, and her Kids are beautiful… wish her all the best, and hope HER dreams come true…

I have concerns about this … I wonder, if Brit was a famous guy in Hollywood (or a father) would all this be happening? Would the courts be so controlling? NO … Think of all the guys in Showbiz who have lost the plot (for a while) … Drink, drug problems … Owen Wilson attempting suicide … have their parent’s been given full control over their lives by the court? NO. Britney is a grown woman, who at some point in the near future is going to DEMAND independence … and she may not be able to get it back. What if she meets someone and they want to get married? This could be a minefield for Britney’s future …

As a parent of a special needs child. Britney is not “special needs” there is a huge difference. The parents of the 22 year old shouldn’t have needed to go to court due to the fact the child was already physically unstable. I don’t have to go to court and ask for conservatorship. I am my son’s parent. I’m suppose to take care of him. That situation about the 22 yr old sounds confusing. My in laws have been taking care of their “special needs” child since birth and again have never been to court to establish conservatorship. The only thing we worry about is who is going to take care of them once we are gone.

It’s obvious Britney needs someone to handle her financial falcuties but Billy Joel’s own relative stole from him and it happens all the time with celebs. In this case her father is being monitored how he is utilizing her funds so hopefully her children will be taken care of as they grow older.

One one hand i’m glad that brit is doing so well since her dad stepped in but on the other hand when children feel their parents are too controlling they usually lash out. afterall her own words were for her poor judgment/actions were she felt a lot of her life was too controlled and she just wanted to be free. when she regains freedom what’s to stop her from going off the deep end again? They should let her have some responsibility for her life, allow her to be in control of somethings so she doesn’t end up repeating the craziness.
i’m just saying i don’t really think this is going to work out as well as the courts believe, but i realize a lot of this is for the kids, still.

Okey so i’m a dork and after reading this was a little worried abot the brittster. I researched what this “permanent” means and this article really clears things up.

It states that Britt will be under this .. “until the next court order,”…not forever bebes! “a temporary conservatorship is granted for a defined period of time” : )

Trent, this development answers a LOT of questions. The only way for them to make it permanent, is if they deem her mentally unfit. My husband is a lawyer who specializes in “special needs children” who’s parents are made their executer. They have to go to court and prove how mentally unstable the child is, and how the child is a PERMANENT threat to both themself, and others. It is rare, but possible for the person to ever regain “their rights”. One boy & his family my husband was working with had severe traumatic brain injury from a car accident. He had a memory of about half a day. It’s LITERALLY like the movie “Momento”. If he were allowed to make decisions for himself, though he was 22 years old, he’d end up dying. The parents are people who don’t want their SEVERLY mentally unfit children able to make choices that end up KILLING them (or someone else). It’s compassion on the parent’s part. They’re taking legal responsibility for that child until they die. It would be much easier to let that kid go and wash their hands of him/her.

Permanent is’nt “for life”. Just means not having to go to court every other month or so to go through the whole thing. Which is not necessary. When she is able to be on her own (I agree it’s too soon due to her HUGE amount of money and unstable past) she will be. That her father checks everything is so we hopefully don’t see her dead befor 30… og even new emergency stories.

She’ll be fine :) She just needs some time to get it all together.

i’ve dealt with it…if you read any of my post im not brits biggest fan..and will point out when she’s in the wrong. but not every bi polar person is under watch, i know a few people who do just fine on there own.im sure theres a crap load of celebs who are bi polar but you would never it. she just needs to get a handle on things.

PERMANENT DOESN’T MEAN PERMANENT IN THIS SITUATION DIDN’T THEY SAY THE ONLY REASON THEY WERE MAKING IT PERMANENT WAS SO THEY DIDN’T HAVE TO GO TO COURT TO RENEW IT EVERY FEW MONTHS. THE CONSERVATORSHIP IS STILL GOING TO BE REVIEWED EVERY FEW MONTHS AND WHEN HER DOCTORS THINK SHE’S READY THEY’LL END IT I DON’T GET WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS NOTHING CHANGED…..SO WHY IS EVERYONE FREAKING???????????????????????

i think its best its permanent. like tink said, she is mentally ill. even if she doesnt want to admit it & complain she doesnt have freedom, she needs to be watched. obviously her dad knows what he’s doing, do you think if he wasnt around she would have got to see those kids? i dont think so. and who knows…in a few years..things could change..but for now..its best.

No – it is not sad that a grown woman must have someone to control all aspects of her life – it is necessary because she is seriously mentally ill. A common feature of someone with bipolar disorder is that they do not think it necessary to take their meds. And the meds are the only answer for a normal life. Obviously, her father cares for her – look at the results of his conservatorship. She is fit and somewhat together and she seems to be enjoying her visits with her sons.
