Aussie Olympian Matthew Mitcham Does ‘The Advocate’ Magazine
Oh, yes, he does

Holy hotness, Batman! Australian Olympic Diving Gold Medalist, Matthew Mitcham, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of The Advocate magazine. Towleroad offers up a preview of the Aussie’s insanely killer magazine cover even tho neither the coverstory article nor the rest of the mag’s photos have been made available just yet. Feast your eyes on Mitcham‘s pretty stunning coverphoto:

Here’s an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming issue of The Advocate which features a stunning set of photos and profile of Australia’s gay gold medal-winning Olympic diver Matthew Mitcham. Mitcham talks of the dive that was the highest-scoring in Olympic history: “I remember the things that I was thinking on the platform before the dive, and I remember what happened as soon as I hit the water. The dive itself is a bit vague. It felt good, although I wasn’t exactly sure. I did wait underneath the water a bit, thinking, I wonder…I wonder…I wonder… Then I popped my head out and the crowd was going wild…It was the most far-out experience. It just completely took me over and I just lost it.” He also talks about recently accepting Australia GQ’s Sportsman of the Year Award. “I think the last thing I said onstage there was, ‘Oh my God, I’m a homo and I just won the sports award.’ People just pissed themselves and thought it was hilarious.” Photo by Adam Pretty. The issue hits newsstands next week.

Wowzers. Swimmers have, like, the sickest bodies around … and Matthew Mitcham is a very good ambassador for hawt swimmers the world over, don’tchathink? This coverphoto is just … wow. I can’t wait to see the rest of the mag’s photos from this coverstory. After the jump, to tide y’all over ’til the other photos make their way to the Internets, check out a couple photos of Mitcham from the last time he appeared within The Advocate‘s pages last August

Hawt AND cute … what more could you ask for in an Olympic athlete? He may not have as many Gold Medals as, say, Michael Phelps but IMHO he’s deffo the hotter of the two. What do y’all think? And, if someone could please enlighten, what the hell is in the water down in OZ that makes the men and women so beautiful? Anyone?

  2. Brit Blah says:

IDK who this one is but what a hottie! Major upgrade from Michael Phelps ;-P

  3. Kendra says:

Agreed Trent..Swimmers have amazing bodies..Except sometimes their legs are short in proportion to the rest of their bodies..But still..Super hot..

  4. Chase says:

Yeah, I have to disagree, Trent. Swimmers bodies aren’t usually the best. Usually their legs are extremely scrawny compared to their upper bodies; it just looks weird. I would say tennis players have the best bodies when it comes to sports or some football players as long as they aren’t too muscly.

  5. Mr. Gyllenhaal says:

OH SNAP…Screw his legs…this man is FINE!!!

  6. Andy says:

Howdy Matthew! I’d like to do the flying forward one-and-a-half somersaults pike with him!

  7. Kendra says:

@Chase – I totally agree about the tennis players..They have great bodies..

  8. Hil says:

Yeah, he is a diver not a swimmer, but yes, they are all rather attractive. Makes me wish I never gave up the sport.

  9. Karen says:

    Trent- Divers are not swimmers!!!!

  10. ray says:

youre a retard, swimming and diving are two completely different sports. it’s like calling a football player a basketball player just because they both play their sport with a ball.

  11. Deb says:

Matt’s a gorgeous man, inside and out. I wish he had more support from the advertising industry.

And to answer your question, Trent, about what’s in the water in Oz: sharks. Seriously, “get out of the water!!!” is a very galvanizing statement. And panic swimming builds great musculature.

he is gorgeous and a sweet guy to boot… genuinely a LOVELY guy :)

  13. Jess says:

    YEAHHHH Go the Aussie.
Trent, I think you’ll just have to make a trip down to our sunny shores (bring that wonderful man of yours along) and find out whats in the water yourselves.
We would be more than happy to have you =)
I’m commenting from Sydney’s CBD right now, its a beautiful summer day, wish y’all were here!
