A New Batch Of ‘G.I. Joe’ Movie Posters Is Upon Us
Last month I posted a pretty cool movie poster that was believed to be a new promo poster for the upcoming action flick G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra (based on the wildly successful toy, cartoon, comics line) but, in fact, turned out to be merely a fan creation. Today we get a batch of 6 new movie posters that are the real, genuine deal. Here is the official G.I. Joe movie poster that features Channing Tatum (or a very nice body double) as Sgt. Duke Hauser:

Paramount Pictures and Hasbro, whose previous collaboration was the worldwide blockbuster “Transformers,” join forces with Spyglass Entertainment for another extraordinary action-adventure “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra.” From the Egyptian desert to deep below the polar ice caps, the elite G.I. JOE team uses the latest in next-generation spy and military equipment to fight the corrupt arms dealer Destro and the growing threat of the mysterious Cobra organization to prevent them from plunging the world into chaos. The film stars Channing Tatum, Dennis Quaid, Sienna Miller, Ray Park, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Marlon Wayans, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Still no sign of Cobra Commander (played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt) but the first movie trailer for G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra will make its debut during the Superbowl this Sunday … mebbe we’ll get a peek at him this weekend? After the jump, check out 4 more posters that feature The Baroness (the first of two posters that feature a member of Cobra), Scarlett, Snake Eyes, Ripcord and Storm Shadow (the second Cobra member) …

Nice, nice … these posters are very cool-looking. While I’m still kinda concerned about the bad review that came out from someone who’s been able to see footage from the film, I’m totally reserving judgment. I love G.I. Joe so much … I don’t want this movie to suck. Chicken fillets aside, I’m really looking forward to the release of this movie!

I’m worried about this movie, but excited as hell. I hope Sienna does the Baroness justice.

Oh my gosh they should do one of those PSA’s(that would come on after the cartoon) for their advertising campaign.

If anyone can play and evil & destructive woman, it’s Miller. She’s ruined more lives than gonorrhea already!! Well this is her last stop before her career moves on to Broadway. Let it be a lesson – if you’re gonna pick a fight with Russell Crowe, then don’t go dragging Ridley Scot into it. Directors are just too high on the Hollywood food chain to mess with.

I’m worried about the costumes in this movie. Everyone looks like Batman—I can barely tell who is who, or which side is G.I. Joe and which is Cobra. I grew up with the cartoon, the toys and the comic books—I loved it all. The characters all had distinctive looks and were unique—that was part of the fun. This was an elite special mission force that wasn’t tied down to any one military uniform, etc. I hope this is just some outfit they all wear in the final battle or something—-please can we have some color hollywood? I guess if hollywood was making the Wizard of Oz today, Dorothy and everybody would be wearing black. I’m just saying some color would be nice for a change. :)

I’m really excited for this movie. I love the posters, but they remind me of the Matrix teasers posters that came out a few years ago. I think it was for the 3rd movie, whatever it was called, but it had almost full bod shots of the characters with the top of their heads cut off. Still, I like these.

I grew up with GI Joe too. I remember the cartoons and my brother had the action figures. Cobra would take over our room and tie up my Barbie dolls. I really hope the movie doesn’t suck.
