Motorists in Austin, TX were shocked to learn of warnings that zombies have infiltrated their midst. A construction road sign in central Austin was hacked into and was made to read Zombies Ahead, much to the chagrin of city officials:

An Austin road sign meant to warn motorists about road conditions instead read: “The end is near! Caution! Zombies ahead!” Vandals broke off a lock on the sign in central Austin early Monday and then hacked into the computer to change the words, said Sara Hartley, a city spokeswoman. When they were done, the sign read: “The end is near! Caution! Zombies ahead! Run for cold climate!” Before leaving, the vandals reset the password so the city could not easily change the sign. The sign’s humorous warning stayed up for several hours before the manufacturer of the computer could reset the password. Austin officials aren’t taking the spoof lightly, noting it is a criminal act. “The sign’s content was humorous, but the act of changing it wasn’t,” Hartley said. Austin police are investigating the situation, and the vandals could face a Class C misdemeanor charge of tampering with a road sign, Hartley said. It is the first time Hartley said she has had heard of vandals hacking into a sign and changed its warning.

Hee hee, this is a great story … criminal, but still pretty damn funny. Some mischievous folks over at THIS site have even provided instructions on how the hacking was accomplished. Naughty, Naughty. Earlier this week we saw cute photos of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their 6 children (Maddox, Zahara, Pax, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne) making a grand arrival in Narita, Japan … and now we know why. Last night, Brangelina were in attendance at the Japanese premiere of Brad’s Academy Award-nominated film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button which took place at the Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo last night. Ange paused to tenderly wipe some smeared schmutz off of Brad’s face before they took to the red carpet together … which is really sweet, I think:

As one of the world’s most photographed couples, the pressure is on Angelina and Brad Pitt to look good at all times. And Angelina, 33, appeared keen to make sure partner Brad, 45, was ready for his close-up as she checked his cheek to remove a smudge of what appeared to be her lipstick. The couple, who have been together for three years, were on the red carpet at the Japan premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in Tokyo. The couple arrived in Japan on Tuesday with their brood of six children including twins Knox and Vivienne. It was the first time the new arrivals have been seen in public since Brad and introduced them to the public in a £7.5million magazine deal last August. Fans queued for hours before the premiere of Pitt’s Oscar nominated film and went wild when the A-list couple made their appearance alongside the film’s director, David Fincher. And Angelina didn’t disappoint looking radiant in a body-skimming black wrap dress with puff-sleeves. While Brad stuck to his usual grey suit – albeit this time pinstripe. Angelina and Brad arrived at Narita Airport near Tokyo with their six children, Maddox, seven, Pax, five, Zahara, four, Shiloh, two, and six-month old twins Knox and Vivienne, from LA, after they attended the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards. They are expected to return to their native US next month for the Oscars, where both Brad and Angelina have been nominated for Benjamin Button and Clint Eastwood’s film The Changeling respectively. Despite their large brood of six. The Changeling actress has revealed the couple are planning to adopt a seventh. And, she said the other children would not be fazed by another addition to the family. She told Hello magazine: “We have so many children they are not really stunned any more when (new) kids come home”.

Meh. What’s one more, right? No word on whether or not Angelina wore her dress forwards or backwards but, again, I love the sweet little interaction that she had with Brad before they took to the red carpet. I’m not sure if the couple plan to attend any other movie premieres between now and the Academy Awards at the end of next month but, I suspect, they’ll be on the move again soon.

Jessica Simpson landed at an airport in Virginia last night ahead of a live concert performance she is doing in Charlottesville tonight with Country band Rascal Flatts. As you may recall, new photos of a curvy and, IMHO, bootylicious Jessica Simpson came out this past Monday which have ignited a firestorm of commentary (most, pretty harsh) in the blogosphere and beyond (like major news outlets, apparently). Personally, I think Jess looked great in those photos … happy and healthy, which is sometimes an aberration in Hollywood. Jess looked resolute and stayed quiet as comments were thrown out at her upon her arrival in Virgina last night … tho she she did crack a smile when she was told that she looked beautiful:

Jessica Simpson stepped out in Virginia Wednesday night as buzz continues to build over her curvier new figure. Bundled up in a gray jacket, dark sunglasses and a hat, the usually bubbly 28-year-old singer — who is set to perform with Rascal Flatts today at the John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville — looked solemn. She smiled a bit when photographers told her she was stunning and beautiful. Her appearance comes a day after Ashlee Simpson-Wentz attacked critics for making such a fuss over her sister’s new fuller figure. “I am completely disgusted by the headlines concerning my sister’s weight,” Ashlee wrote on her Celebrity MySpace page. “A week after the inauguration and with such a feeling of hope in the air for our country, I find it completely embarrassing and belittling to all women to read about a woman’s weight or figure as a headline on Fox News.”

I agree that it’s pretty disgusting the things people say about other people but am not at all surprised that a network like Fox News would make such an issue out of a “story” like this. Sad. I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of Jessica Simpson’s music (never have been) and I do poke fun at her from time-to-time but I honestly think that she looks absolutely fine and I’m glad that she is choosing not to comment at all about any of this ridiculousness. I understand that things are good between her and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo (despite what some are saying). I hope she keeps on keepin’ on and doesn’t let the negativity get to her … I’d hate to see Jess take some of the horrible comments on her weight to heart and then do anything drastic. She looks great the way she is … own it, girl!

It should be noted that this child’s mother isn’t a big fan of the photogs (ie. it’s rare to see mom smiling for the cameras) so mebbe the little tyke is learning bad habits from their parents? It’s been about a week since lovebirds Miley Cyrus and Justin Gaston have been seen out together in public (tho, Miley did surface over the weekend to do a pretty photoshoot) but yesterday the pair stepped out on the town together to enjoy a nice frozen yogurt date together … behold:

Aww, Miley is such a good girl. I’m sure JG can always count on her to pick up the check whenever he accidentally leaves his wallet at home ;) Incidentally, Miley was queried by one of the photogs what she thinks of Jessica Simpson (in regards to the photos that came out a couple of days ago showing a much curvier Miss Simpson on the performance stage over the weekend) and Miley reported replied, “I don’t think she’s fat.” HMM. I’m not entirely sure that I believe that Miley used those exact words but it’s nice to see that Miley is lending her support to Jess. I guess it’s also nice to know that Justin doesn’t have to worry his pretty little head with having to carry money on his person.
