Guess Who Missed A Spot While Fake Tanning

Whoops!
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Can you guess which normally überchic celeb was spotted on the streets of a European city hosting Fashion Week this week looking most unchic as she showed off a huge patch of pale white skin on her foot where she, clearly, failed to apply her fake spray-tanner properly?

Whoopsie! You might expect this particular fashionista to blow a fuse rather than venture out in public with this embarrassing stain (as it were) on her reputation … so she most likely was not aware of the faux pas. After the jump, find out who it is …

‘US Weekly’ Claims It Knows Why Jennifer Love Called Off Her Engagement

The tabloid appears to place blame
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

Earlier this month we learned that Jennifer Love Hewitt and her fiancée Ross McCall called off their engagement and broke up over the Xmas holidays and never really got an explanation as to why. This week’s issue of US Weekly magazine claims to have those explanations:

Altho the coverstory article has yet to be posted online, the headline on the new issue reads, “The dress was bought, a date was set. How jealousy, fights and her insecurities exploded at the last minute”. HMM. The mag clearly seems to be pointing the finger of blame straight at J. Love. Something tells me that this article was not written with her consent. I, personally, have no information as to what caused the break-up between J. Love and Ross but I’d venture a guess that her on-going problems with her crazed stalker might’ve had something to do with what went down. In the end, we will never really know for sure what happened unless either of the involved parties go on the record to discuss the matter. I just hope that they are both doing well … J. Love is a sweetheart and I wish her only happiness. I know nothing about Ross but he always seemed like a great guy to me … here’s hoping that things work out for the best for the both of them.

No Doubt Formally Announce Their 2009 Summer Tour

Hittin' the road with Paramore
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

It’s official! NoDoubt.com has been updated with the official news that the band is hittin’ the road this summer on a new concert tour … and they’re bringing the band Paramore with them. Here is the full text of the press release from the band that was posted on their official site today:

Grammy-winning rock band No Doubt announced plans for their 2009 summer tour today. The band will launch their highly anticipated tour this May, playing outdoor amphitheaters and arenas throughout the summer. Singer Gwen Stefani said, “The whole reason for going on this tour was to have fun, try on all our favorite songs again and to get inspired to make new music. It feels good to be all together again.” No Doubt has selected Paramore as the special guest for the tour. “What a dream tour! We couldn’t be more excited to kick off 2009 by touring with a band like No Doubt,” said Paramore singer Hayley Williams. “Get there early…this is going to a be a great night from the moment the lights go down,” said bassist Tony Kanal. The third act that will open the show will be shared among The Sounds, Janelle Monae and Bedouin Soundclash. Check your local listings for more specific information. “Now that five years have passed, the excitement level for us is extremely high. We are so fresh and ready! I feel like a kid again when rehearsing these songs,” said drummer Adrian Young. The 2009 No Doubt Summer Tour will be produced by Live Nation and will include stops in both the U.S. and Canada. The band last toured in 2004, co-headlining with Blink 182. Tour dates and on sale information will be announced soon. Check www.nodoubt.com for the most up to date tour news.

You may recall that No Doubt confirmed the the rumors that they would be hittin’ the road this summer but did not make the official announcement until today. That they chose to bring Paramore on the road with them is a big honor for the young band. A lot of folks, me included, have waited a long time for the band to get back together and get out on the road. As of yet, there is still no word on when a new album from the band might be released but I understand that they have been hard at work on new tunes over the past few months. While I’m sure the band will be debuting new songs on the road, it remains to be seen if their next studio album will be ready for release by the time the band hits the road … whenever that may be. At this point, specific tour dates have yet to be announced. Stay tuned … hopefully we’ll know when the No Doubt tour will get underway so that we can start to make our summer concert plans.

The 2009 Razzie Award Nominations Have Been Announced

Find out which films will vie for the infamous Golden Raspberry Award
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

As is the custom in Hollywood, the nominations for the Golden Raspberry Awards (or The Razzies as they are more commonly referred to) were announced this morning, one day ahead of the announcement of the Academy Award nominations (which come out tomorrow). As you may or may not know, the Razzies attempt to honor (or, dishonor, as the case may be) the worst films of the previous year by handing out awards in the categories of worst acting (male and female), screenwriting, songwriting, directing and films. Leading the pack of worst noms for 2008 is Mike Myers‘ horrid flop The Love Guru, which scored seven nominations … including the big one, Worst Film. But The Love Guru was not alone in securing lurve (hate?) from the Golden Raspberry Award nominating committee, other films like The Happening, The Hottie and the Nottie, Disaster Movie and more join the field of contenders for Razzies this year:

Voters for 2008’s worst movies love Mike Myers. They really love him. Myers’ comedy flop The Love Guru led the field Wednesday for the Razzies with seven nominations, among them worst picture and worst-acting slots for Myers, Jessica Alba, Verne Troyer and Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley. The number of nominations for Love Guru was appropriate given what a personal project it was for Myers, who not only starred but also co-wrote and produced the movie, said John Wilson, founder of the Razzies, an Oscar spoof that dishes out “dis-honors” for the lousiest stuff Hollywood dredged up the previous year. “This is one of those auteur-of-the-awful situations,” Wilson said. “I think people are tired of him in general. He hasn’t really made a good movie in quite some time.” The other worst-picture contenders were Disaster Movie and Meet the Spartans, Hollywood spoofs that shared a nomination for a “badly beaten dead horse of a concept”; the fright flick The Happening ; Paris Hilton’s romantic comedy bomb The Hottie & the Nottie ; and the sword-and-sorcery fantasy In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Razzie “winners” will be announced Feb. 21, the day before the Oscars. Hilton had three nominations, worst actress and worst screen couple alongside her co-stars in The Hottie & the Nottie, plus worst supporting actress for Repo! The Genetic Opera. Eddie Murphy, named worst actor, supporting actor and supporting actress last year for multiple roles in Norbit, has two nominations this time, as worst actor and screen couple alongside himself for dual roles in his sci-fi comedy dud Meet Dave. Cameron Diaz also picked up two Razzie nominations for the romance What Happens in Vegas, as worst actress and worst screen couple alongside co-star Ashton Kutcher. Along with Kingsley, Oscar winner Al Pacino had a worst-actor nomination for his crime thrillers 88 Minutes and Righteous Kill. The stars of the remake The Women— Annette Bening, Eva Mendes, Debra Messing, Jada Pinkett Smith and Meg Ryan — shared a worst-actress nomination. Joining them, Alba, Diaz and Hilton in the worst-actress category was Kate Hudson for Fool’s Gold and My Best Friend’s Girl. Besides Murphy, Myers and Pacino, worst-actor nominees were Larry the Cable Guy for Witless Protection and Mark Wahlberg for The Happening and Max Payne. In the Name of the King filmmaker Uwe Boll had three nominations for 2008 movies, worst director for that flick and 1968: Tunnel Rats and Postal, supporting actor for playing himself in Postal and screen couple alongside “any actor, camera or screenplay.” Boll — whose movies include such horror or action tales as Bloodrayne,Alone in the Dark and House of the Dead— also was selected by Razzies voters to receive a special prize for worst career achievement as “Germany’s answer to Ed Wood,” the legendary bad filmmaker responsible for Plan 9 From Outer Space. “It’s pretty insulting to Ed Wood. Although Wood didn’t understand how to splice two frames together, there was a joy of incompetence in his work,” Wilson said. “Uwe Boll’s like our Meryl Streep. As long as he continues to work, he will get nominated, just like Meryl Streep does with those other awards.”

OY! I tend to block out horrid movies that I make the mistake of seeing in theaters (like The Love Guru) so this list of Razzie nominees is kinda of like a cold slap in the face. I had forgotten that so many shitty movies came out last year … and this reminder is not a welcome one. I would absolutely cast my vote for The Love Guru as the Worst Film (Mike Meyers still owes me money for that travesty) but I did not see The Happening (which I hear is pretty horrrrrrible) so that might be a serious contender as well. Paris Hilton should be a shoe-in for Worst Actress and I’d put money on Eddie Murphy picking up another Razzie Award for his work in Meet Dave (did *anyone* see that movie?). The Razzies are a fun way for Hollywood to honor its own … each year, there are gads of horrible movies … and they, at least, deserve some recognition, I think. Being the best of the worst is something, right? I can’t wait to hear which films and “actors” will take home the Golden Raspberry Award when the “winners” are announced next month.

Kevin Federline Lets His New Chick Play Mommy

What must Britney Spears think?
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

TMZ managed to score a bunch of exclusive photos of Kevin Federline and his new ladylove and bowling aficionado Victoria Prince enjoying a quiet meal together with his sons (by Britney Spears) Sean Preston and Jayden James over the weekend. To my knowledge, this is the first time The Federline and his new chick have been photographed with the kids … something that I’m sure that Britney is none too pleased about:

Britney’s not gonna like this. K-Fed and his new girlfriend, Victoria Prince, took Sean Preston and Jayden James out for dinner at a Japanese restaurant in Fresno this weekend — where Prince played the role of interim mom. We gotta give it to her, Victoria looks like she’s pretty good with them.

I’m not entirely sure what TMZ sees in these photos that qualifies Vicki P. as “pretty good” with them … all she is doing is sitting next to them in one photo and is seen carrying Jayden James in a couple of others. Who can’t do that? In the end, I suppose it was gonna happen sooner or later that K-Fed would be introducing his kids to a new “mother figure”. I suspect the actually introductions happened some time ago … but, as I said, I think that this is the first time they’ve all been photographed together. After the jump, check out a bunch of other photos of K-Fed, VP and the kids as they made their way out of the restaurant and loaded the boys into their car …

Alyson Hannigan Takes The Bump Produce Shopping

Ripening
Wednesday, January 21st, 2009

The Alyson Hannigan Bump Watch continues as new photos of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum and current star of How I Met Your Mother was spotted out and about in Santa Monica, CA doing a bit of produce shopping this week. Here are a few new photos of Alyson showing off her burgeoning baby bump with her fruit purchases in hand:

Aww … she looks so amazing. And that bump is getting HUGE. In the second photo, you can already tell that her belly button is starting to turn into a very prominent outie ;) Unlike other celeb pregnancies (that seem to drag on forever), Aly’s pregnancy seems to be coming along very quickly. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that we learned she was pregs (and not showing at all) and here she is lookin’ like she’s smuggling a watermelon underneath her pretty sweater. In any event, she looks glorious … I can’t wait until she brings forth the fruit of her loins :)
