Miley Cyrus Goes Out In Public WITHOUT Justin Gaston

It's true!
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

16 year old Miley Cyrus managed to surgically remove 20 year old underwear model and manfriend Justin Gaston from her hip and stepped out in her Toluca Lake, CA neighborhood yesterday with only a couple of girl BFFs in tow. Wearing a pair of hideously fringed blue suede boots couple with a lame pair of ripped leggings, Miley and co. were all smiles for the paps who happily followed their every move:

I suspect that Justin was left home clutching his tear-stained Hannah Montana pillow lamenting the fact that he was forced to spend an afternoon away from Miley … and the alluring glare of the paparazzi flashbulbs. Poor guy. I hope he’ll be OK. You know, something tells me that he’ll be just fine … and back in her company in no time. A couple of new Jiley photos of the pair lookin’ all coupley made their way to my inbox after surfacing on Facebook this week. After the jump, check out a couple of really cozy photos of Miley and Justin muggin’ for the camera …

Zuma Nesta Rock Is Blinged Out In SoCal

Heavy Metal
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Zuma Nesta Rock, newborn son to Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale, emerged on the streets of SoCal yesterday in the arms of his moms and in the company of his dad and older brother Kingston James McGregor. As you may recall, yesterday we saw a few photos of Kingston, all dolled up in a superhero outfit, out the day before with his nanny proudly showing off his very own Blackberry mobile phone. Not to be outdone, Zuma was proudly showing off his new blingin’ jewelry on yesterday’s outing:

I don’t know if this means that ID bracelets are gonna make a fashion comeback but Gwen Stefani does have a knack for starting new fashion trends … I wouldn’t be surprised if her kiddies ended up possessing the same powers of persuasion. We’ll have to see if other kiddies in Hollywood start rockin’ the bling.

Cloggin’ Arteries With My Homies

The TV Guide
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Last night I met up with Steph and Alek and cajoled them into going out for a bite to eat at Outback Steak House so that they could FINALLY partake of the wonder that are Aussie Cheese Fries. The guys have heard about them but were never able to partake … and last night was the night:

Clearly, they got hooked. Our fries were delivered quickly and were totally finished off with in minutes … 5 minutes, I think. Yes, we’re kinda disgusting but we’re OK with it. You will note that Steph managed to stay out of every photo that we snapped yesterday … smart man.

After dinner, we decided to see a movie and settled down to watch the touching Holocaust movie The Boy in the Striped Pajamas:

Man, what can I say about this film … touching and sad, innocent and heartbreaking — it’s really a pretty amazing film. Other Holocaust-themed films are getting some attention this Awards Season (The Reader for being so good, Vaklyrie for being so bad) and I feel it’s an absolute crime that this movie is not getting the attention it deserves. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas takes a look at the horrors of the Holocaust thru the innocent eyes of young children and has a shocking ending that I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted. Young actors Asa Butterfield (who plays the protagonist Bruno) and Jack Scanlon (who plays Shmuel) give really quite stunning performances. In fact, Asa’s performance is just as solid as any adult lead actor I’ve seen all year. I was just astounded at how well he was able to effectively convey the innocence necessary for his role. I was really taken by the unique way this story was told. Thru the eyes of children, many things don’t make sense and, in some cases, innocence really is bliss. This film is quite moving and absolutely heartbreaking. I wouldn’t recommend this film for a fun night out at the movies but I do feel it is a story that everyone should watch.

This afternoon, S&A and I are planning to head up to Griffith Park Observatory to snap some pics (I am still very much on my Polaroid kick) and catch a show at the planetarium (the Frenchies have never seen a show at Griffith Park) so I’m really looking forward to that. It’s warm and sunny and still the weekend. Ain’t life grand?

Hot Dude Of The Week: Dan

Weekend Hotness
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

It’s time again for the Hot Dude of the Week and this time around we’ve got another hawt infusion of manflesh to greet us on this lovely Sunday morn … say hello to Dan:

Click HERE to see more pictures of Dan
Normally I am NOT a fan of dudes with spare tires but I think I can make an exception in Dan’s case. Nice abs, nice tan, nice profile … this week’s Hot Dude has got it all. I could do without the frosted tips but, meh, who’s complainin’? I’d have Dan change my flat any day of the week … wouldn’t you? Enjoy!!

First Look: Morrissey, ‘I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris’

The city, not the Hilton
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

Morrissey has got a new music video out for the first single from his new album Years Of Refusal which is due out on February 17. Here are a few screencaps from his new single and music video I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris:

I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to preview the album in full and, honestly, I wasn’t immediately wowed. It took me a few listens to really get into the disc but I’m totally on board with it now. It does sound a bit like his previous albums, which is good but (on the negative side) sometimes just sounds like more of the same. After the jump, check out the video for I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris and judge for yourself …

Madonna & Kids Reunite With Guy Ritchie At The Kabbalah Centre

The gang's all here
Sunday, January 18th, 2009

It doesn’t look like Madonna is going to let a little ol’ thing like divorce come between her family’s need to be together to get their church on. Maddy and her kiddies (Lola, Rocco and David Banda) hooked-up with daddy Guy Ritchie at the Kabbalah Centre in NYC yesterday and everyone was all smiles … check it out:

Maddy and the children have been in NYC a lot lately, which is normal since that is where I understand she plans to life full-time once her divorce from Guy is totally and completely signed, sealed and delivered. Guy, too, has been in NYC for the past week or so since the movie he’s directing, Sherlock Holmes, is currently in production in Brooklyn, NY. It’s really great to see that the Ciccone-Ritchie clan can keep it together even tho they are legally separating. It looks a lot like Madonna and Guy plan to remain good friends even after the divorce is a done deal … which bodes well for their children. I guess it’s true what they say about the family that Kabbalahs together.
