Yesterday we saw a few photos Amy Winehouse lookin’ as if she were having the time of her life in St. Lucia while on holiday from her craziness … and today we get to see, yet, another new photo of the lass on vacation. In this new pic, Amy is posing with a group of children who prolly have no idea why Amy appears to be blitzed out of her mind in their photo:

Now, I don’t know how Amy got her hands on these young children (or if they’re parents are even aware) but I’m sure that nothing befell these impressionable kids … well, fairly sure. It does look as if Amy is still indulging in her vices while on holiday which isn’t really a good thing, IMHO. To her credit, she is fully clothed and the kids do look happy … the poor dears.

As you may recall, we got our first look at the first images of the Madonna/Louis Vuitton campaign earlier this month so these new photos have yet to be widely seen. The setting and motif is the same … which I’m not sure it necessarily a good thing. Overall, tho, I really like this sultry campaign. Last night David and I went to the 8PM performance of Billy Elliot the Musical at the Imperial Theater and had an amazing Broadway experience. Back when we went to London, England for my birthday in July we talked about catching a show in the West End and were planning to see Billy Elliot there. Unfortch, due to time constraints, we weren’t able to make the show … so I was really interested in seeing the show here on Broadway:

I am a big fan of the film Billy Elliot so I hoped that the stage version would do the story justice … and I have to say that they did just that. For our performance, we got Trent Kowalik as Billy (the show has 3 boys who trade off playing the lead role, Trent is the only one of the Broadway Billys to play the part in London) and he was absolutely phenomenal. I’m sure all of the lead Billys are superb but I have a hard time imagining that any of the other two (David Alvarez, Kiril Kulish) are more talented than Trent is. That kid can dance! And sing! He was a delight to watch on stage.

David Bologna played Billy‘s friend Michael and he was a delight as well … just hammy enough to pull off the part perfectly. The role of Small Boy was played by the cutest little kid ever … Mitchell Michaliszyn (who looked a lot like David when he was a little boy, so you can imagine his cuteness). The stage version of the show is a great adaptation of the film … even tho none of the songs are really very memorable for me (ie. I wasn’t humming any of them as I left the theater). I loved the way they handled the reading of Billy‘s mom’s letter to him. I ain’t gonna lie, there may have been tears in our section of the audience. Even tho there were some parts of the staging that didn’t really wow me, the show is really a great show to watch … the performances by the young actors is really top notch. I was wholly impressed and would recommend this show to anyone. If you love the movie, you’ll love the show.

After the show, we made our way back to the West Village to have dessert at Sweetie Pie on Greenwich Ave.

This afternoon, we’re meeting up with David’s sisters for brunch and plan to spend the day out and about in the city. As I mentioned before, this will prolly be my last trip to NYC for a while … I want to enjoy it as much as I can.

Pink reader Bat gave me the head’s up that Paula Abdul’s official website is currently streaming a new song that appears to be the first single from her upcoming new album which is due out in Summer ’09. The song is titled Boombox … which is curious, because Kylie Minogue just released a remix album titled Boombox and, wouldn’t you know it, features the very same song on the disc:

While I am very excited that Paula is about to release a new album, I’m not really sure why she needs to release songs that have already been recorded and released by other more successful artists … or mebbe I just answered my own question.

30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto made his way to Miami Beach, FL for the New Year most prolly NOT to enjoy the sun and surf considering that he was spied spending his time at the beach fully covered from head to toe ensuring that not one UV ray could make its way to his precious skin:

Honestly, by the way that Jared is dressed in these photos I initially thought that Michael Jackson had made his way to Miami Beach after he was last seen trolling the bookstores in LA wearing pjs, hiding under umbrellas. The lack of a surgical facemask tipped me off to the true identity of this totally covered beachcomber. Yeah, I’m not sure that Miami Beach is the right place for sunshy Jared … he doesn’t look like he’s having much fun :(

Okay … for those of you who didn’t keel over dead from the adorableness, let’s continue … it looks as if Honor isn’t quite able to walk all on her own just yet but she’ll prolly be able to do so very soon. Seriously, those cheeks, that smile, that hat — isn’t she the cutest little darling ever? I hope that she and Harlow Winter become BFFs soon cuz they have to be the cutest little girls in Hollywood. Can you imagine the trubs these two would get into if left to their own devices? Lordy … one can only imagine.

When last we saw underwear model extraordinaire Justin Gaston, he was cheesily posing in the Cyrus family Xmas photo with a heinous case of bed head and a Hannah Montana t-shirt that matched perfectly with his much younger, underage female friend Miley Cyrus. The Xmas photo was, I believe, snapped in Tennessee on December 25 but the family has since returned to SoCal … and Justin Gaston (like a sad, needy puppy) followed along as well. Here is a pic of the Cyrus family (Billy Ray, Tish, Miley) and Justin as they stepped out for lunch at Patty’s in LA yesterday afternoon:

These two are either gonna get pregs/married (in that order) or the Cyrus folks are gonna get so sick and tired of Justin always being around that they are gonna kick him to the curb … of course, Miley will prolly go with him and then they’ll get pregs/married (in that order) and ruin her career. Ahhh … young lurve. Wherever do you suppose Justin Gaston will show up next?

On Friday we received the latest missive written by Courtney Love and posted to her official My Space profile that attempted to explain why her new album, Nobody’s Daughter, was not released on January 1 as was promised. In that post, C. Love took her rambling to new heights and did everything BUT explain the reasons she reneged on her vow to release the album. Therefore, the duty has fallen to someone describing themselves as Courtney‘s “Head Administrator of her Myspace” to explain to the world why the album was not released. In this new blogpost, the author (who clearly isn’t Courtney Love, which is evident by the clarity of the writing) goes on and on about how amazing the album really is, randomly gives movie reviews, refers to C. Love as “the most sincere and misunderstood person” they have ever met (and goes on to refer to her as “sober, clean, classy and very elegant and sophisticated and super intelligent” which calls said author’s integrity and sanity into question, IMHO) and in the end blames the album delay on “paranormal technical issues” in the studio … which, of course, means that ghosts ruined her release schedule (damn you, Kurt Cobain!). Nobody’s Daughter

Hi guys, This is Courtney Love’s Head Administrator of her Myspace and I wanted to address some of your questions regarding Courtney’s album that was suppose to be released on Jan 1 on her CourtneyLove.com site. Courtney had shot that Elle cover a few months ago and YES she had scribbled, Jan 1st as the online release date. That was the plan, to give you guys a gift on the first day of the new years…but guess what kids, that obviously did not happen. Some of you guys have expressed your utmost disappointment and I don’t blame you for feeling let down, some angry and sad, and as Courtney’s Myspace administrator, I felt the need to come on and address the matter. The fact is, Courtney Love is a true artist, and as most true artist, the true artist simply communicates from within. That special place that Courtney holds so deep, especially for her fans is a really honest haven that exhibits skill, versatility, self-discipline, formal and conceptual rigor, and a commitment to excellence. A commitment to giving you guys the best she HAS and WILL give you.

Today I saw two films , The Wrestler and Revolutionary Road, both by directors that don’t churn out factory made films every year. Not the remake, silly putty kind of directors but the guys that make movies with true integrity. I left the Arclight today on a cloud for these films packed a emotional wallop that left me stunned.

Courtney’s Album Nobody’s Daughter will leave you feeling the same way. The same way any director, musician, painter who takes their time to make art that leaves a impression that doesn’t escape the memory instantly, but sears and burns.
I feel sad for the fact that some of you guys have expressed disappointment and feel let down but Courtney Love really is truly one of the most and I don’t mean to say this in a ass kissing way, because it’s all true…
Courtney Love is one of the most sincere and misunderstood person I have ever met in my life. I have spoken to her on the phone, met her many times and if you think she’s the cooky cherry koo koo bananas kinda person that comes on here and blogs like she’s high or drunk think again! Courtney is sober, clean, classy and very elegant and sophisticated and super intelligent. Everything the editor of Elle said was true.
I was very honored when Courtney invited me to her rehearsals in the valley last summer and all those demos like she has mentioned in her blogs are totally different and wow 300 times better, what you think you have heard you will be totally surprised. The RAGE is there and man oh man I sat that listening with a grin thinking to myself, man I was never a really big fan of Courtney Love but you better bet your g-damn dollar I am now after listening to her hard at work in the studios with some new songs that will just leave you breathless like the first time you listened to Live Through This or Celebrity Skin.

The sweet melodic rush that hooks and sweeps you is there, but Courtney also brings back the ROCK in ways you guys can’t even imagine.

Courtney is going to deliver, she WILL not make you wait another year or 5, but I can tell you one thing..she will present you with the grandest gift of all if you are a true fan you will understand and appreciate the delays for Courtney is a perfectionist at her very best.

Sam Mendes who directed “Revolutionary Road” made his mark in 1999 with American Beauty, since then he has only directed 2 other films leading up to this latest masterpiece, I recommend you guys see it when it goes wide on Jan 23.

Darren Aronofsky, 9 years ago directed my fave film of all time “Requiem for a Dream, today I saw his latest masterpiece “The Wrestler”, he did a film called The Fountain in 2006,
I walked out stunned by Mickey Rourke’s incredible performance and was glad the director took his time and churned out another deeply affecting beautiful piece of work that moved me and rocked me to the core.

Thank you for being patience again, Sometimes we all hit little snags on the road which causes us to take the back roads and unfortunately Courtney’s new album was not released online today as she had scribbled on Elle, but lots of things get delayed in life and I promise you, this is one delay you will not regret waiting for..
Nobody’s Daughter is TRUE PERFECTION! I am not kidding you guys, I wish I could share with you a small piece of what’s to come. It’s smashing!

Here are some reasons why the album was delayed ( and we are not sugarcoating it kids )

The Studio that Courtney and her band were using to record had some paranormal technical issues and had to be moved from one studio to another studio right around the holidays due to some technical sound issues that everyone, including Beinhorn who is a master and a genius was not happy with. Courtney and crew could not hear between guitars. Sound and vocal mixings have to be completed still to perfection.
if Courtney had it her way she would have it the studios sound checked first but it was originally use as a hip hop rap studio so the acoustics were all fucked up.

The Artwork is pretty much done..Courtney has 30 million dollars in sponsorships,
from a prominent feminine hygiene/menstrual company and a prominent tequila company ??? and Courtney doesn’t even understand that part! and many more companies etc
Courtney will keep you updated on her album release, but don’t worry
the wait at the DMV will always be longer.

Well, at least we finally get an explanation that kinda sorta makes sense. I’m still not entirely sure what “paranormal technical issues” really means but I hope it’s a problem that can be fixed soon. I’m not entirely sold by this snow job but I am even more intrigued by this new album. Just because one of her web minions calls it (most likely while she is standing behind and watching while this post was typed up) doesn’t mean that it is so … even still, despite her looniness I think Courtney has it in her to make some good music. We’ll see … in the meantime, we’ll have to wait until C. Love‘s paranormal issues get cleared up. My hope is that the album will be released this month … tho, I’m worried by the line in this post that reads “she WILL not make you wait another year or 5″ which may, of course, mean just that :(
