Watch: Adam Lambert, ‘For Your Entertainment’

Adam Lambert, who created quite a stir with his performance of his debut single For Your Entertainment earlier this week on the 2009 American Music Awards, released the music video for that song on his official website yesterday with not a lot of fanfare. Methinks all the controversy kicked up his “shocking” performance (including getting uninvited from performing on Good Morning America due to his controversial performance on the AMAs) overshadowed everything else, including the release of his first solo music video. Here are a few caps from his new video:

The video itself doesn’t have a lot of action going on … just a lot of close-up face shots and walking around. Compared to the performance he gave on the AMAs on Sunday night, tho, the singing sounds really damn good. After the jump, check out the video for For Your Entertainment in full and see it for yourselves …

I still am not crazy about the song but I’m glad the video isn’t an over-the-top and laughable spectacle. It’s actually much tamer than I thought it would be, considering Glambert’s new penchant for attention-grabbing antics. Considering how ridic it could’ve been, I think I like this video. What do y’all think?

  • Tony

I actually like the video as well, not bad!

  • Chivonne

I feel bad for him because in a few months I don’t think anyone is going to care anymore. He seems to be wearing out his welcome too fast. I think he has a great personality and is a nice person. He’s just a bit like an overexcited puppy.
The video was boring but his voice was goodish.

  • Fae

You know, I like the song … and the video.

It finally hit my why it sounded so familiar though … it’s a song that you’d generally hear one of the female pop singers do. Same goes for the video. This could have been done by Britney and it would have the same look and feel.

With all things considered, I think that’s a good thing.

And I have to say … I love the looks he was giving the camera!

  • digging the vid….gotta say he’s like the lovchild between David Bowie & Madonna would have had if they’d used some of Robbie Williams’ sperm….lol

  • mmmmyeah

good song, nice visuals; considering the material is so MOR, I’m impressed by what he did w/it; hopefully his next live tv performance will showcase a similar vocal performance; not big on lots of screaming, but if the rest of the vocals are strong & even, go for it Adam

  • Mr. Gyllenhaal

I like it much better than his performance at the AMAs. What a shame!

  • Lizzy

i agree with fae completely…but i dont think he will be around long. i liked him on american idol but his performance at the AMAs should have been better. he should of worried about singing instead of a shock factor. i think if he sang better the publicity would have been better than the shock factor publicity but that is just my opinion.

  • “Let me entertain you until you SCREEEECHHHHHHH” ugh!

  • Kyleigh

I think he should have incorporated the choreography from the video into his AMA performance. It would have been great. Instead, he chose to take it somewhere where the music (and his talent) took a backseat. It’s a shame.

  • KellyK

I love it! It’s hot. He’s hot. And much much better than the AMA performance.

  • DJ Vegas

He is lame and needs to go join the cast of RENT. Nice studio work but we all know he’s not a pop star. Tick Tock Tick Tock. IMO

  • Spice

I think the song was written for Britney Spears – sounds like her and everything from the group dancers and the snake remind me of her too.

  • A

I looooved the video!! And he looks great and his AMA performance rocked. If it would have been boy on girl kissing, everyone would have went on with their day. He took it to the extreme and I thought he rocked. And I’m sorry, but this song is damn sexy. ;)

  • Whitney

    Love it!!!

  • jamie-o

poppy and great for club music. surprises the crap out of me, but actually i love it!

  • donna

OMG I love it! Really wish he wasn’t gay, he’s so hot.

  • donna

Ok listened to it four times in a row, fifth one starting now…

  • B

How can people be timing his career? That is ridiculous. We have no idea what he is going to do. I think he is really charismatic and I love his voice. He has a large “cougar” following as well (We were all Simon Le Bon fans back in the day….lol). I just find it really annoying when people post how they expect him to last 10 minutes or whatever.

I didn’t hear much about Kris Allen’s cd that came out last week.

  • Dev

I agree with Fae. Replace Adam with Britney and it wouldn’t have surprised me that this would’ve been her song, too.
