The soundtrack boasts 15 tracks by some amazing artists like Thom Yorke (of Radiohead), Lykke Li, The Killers and more. Here is our first look at the album artwork and the accompanying press release announcement:

The highly anticipated track listing for The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack is here! MySpace Music exclusively reveals the list of artists being featured on the hit film’s soundtrack, which will consist of completely original music. While there’s been much speculation about who would be contributing, it’s now confirmed. Wondering who made the cut? The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack will be released on October 20 by Atlantic Records. Some of the artists created the songs after being shown footage from the movie to use as a guide. The songs are all exclusive to the soundtrack. The film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, and is directed by Chris Weitz. It will be released nationwide on November 20. MySpace previously debuted the film’s first trailer, which set a new record for the site with a total of 4.2 million online views within the first 24 hours and a total of 7.8 million within the first seven days. For more information about the Twilight series, visit the official MySpace profile at http://www.myspace.com/twilightthemovie. In The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested. Based on the best-selling book series, the film is the highly anticipated next installment to the movie Twilight, which has grossed $380MM globally at the box office, and has become a worldwide sensation and cultural phenomenon.

I gotta say, even those folks who could care less about Twilight have to be impressed by the roster of artists who will appear on the soundtrack with exclusive music available nowhere else. Wow! I’m not a Twilight fan by any means, but this soundtrack looks awesome! Bon Iver!!

  2. Ama

I probably won’t be buying it. But, the soundtrack does look very good :)

  3. Katie

Muse Muse Muse :) I love what Twilight has done for them! One of the best bands around!

  4. Kendra

Oi..I must say I’m a little bummed that Thom Yorke and The Killers would want to be associated with this Twilight fad..Ahh well..I hope it’s worth it for them in the end..I have a feeling it will be!

  5. Kate_Harlow

Impressive list of musicians I would have expected better from… ick. Twilight makes me cringe in all the worst ways, and it breaks my heart to see some of my fav. bands associating with such a mess of fandom… Though as a performer I can’t begrudge them what must be a hefty payout….. :-(

I really dont understand the whole “my favorite band has sold out to Twilight” fits. They are musicians and they want their music to be heard. What better way than a soundtrack that you KNOW will sell millions and millions of copies? Just because they have their name on the cd doesn’t mean they stay up at night clinging on to their Edward pillows or staring dreamingly at their Jacob posters.
It’s great exposure and I’m sure GREAT money!
    My 10 cents. :)

I think this soundtrack is going to be just as fabulous as the first one! While the first movie left a lot to be desired (ahem, good adapting?) the soundtrack was amazing. This one, by the artists, looks to be just as good, if not better. Thom Yorke? Anya Marina? The Killers? Ok Go? Sea Wolf? Muse (again!)? Sounds like a perfect list to me.

  8. Irma

Damn it, that is a good lookin’ soundtrack.

  9. Di

I agree with you Katie. I thinks its great that people will get to hear great musicians like Bon Iver and Thom Yorke instead of most of the crap on the radio like Lady Gaga.

Oh my God, to all of you complaining!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are so above Twilight yet you can’t miss the oportunity to constantly comment on the film or anything related to it.

If it is getting on your nerves than ignore it and stop acting like snobs.

  11. PennyGadget

Yes! Great artists. Nobody ever pays attention to BRMC and those boys need some play. I am way too old to be getting this excited about the movie and soundtrack but that’s just what the situation is right now.

  12. Krissy

I think it is such a good idea to have artists write music after they have seen footage. Music and movies go hand in hand, and better results are achieved this way. I have never seen any of the Twilight stuff, but I love a lot of these bands. I dont’ see it as selling out. If you like these bands, you want them to eat, right? I think it is so absurd that people think that in order to be a great artist you must suffer for eternity and avoid any projects that might be “fun”.

“…clinging on to their Edward pillows or staring dreamingly at their Jacob posters…”
    Comment win! lol

  14. Lola

I loved the Twilight soundtrack so I’m pretty sure I will be picking this one up too, even thought I don’t know a lot of the artists. I’m always looking for new music!

  15. roxster

YES! I’ve been really eagerly awaiting the track listing, Alexandra Patsavas is one of the best music supervisors, and she never fails to disappoint! I’m so excited for this!

  16. Diana

I guess no Kelly Clarkson song!

  17. megan.

Great, now every 14 year old retard will start listening to Death Cab & Bon Iver. Just as Twilight rapes the eyes of every person who reads/watches it, it will now destroy good music.

Remember, Stephanie Meyer & her pile of crap glorfies sexism & abuse.

  18. aimie

i’ve heard that equinox song and i am sorry but. it sounds like it should be on the breaking dawn soundtrack not new moon. shrugs. i haven’t heard of any of the artist apart from muse (and only cuz they were on the twilight soundtrack) but if that is any comparison i’ll love this one too.

  19. erin

as a self realised music snob I used to hate when the under the radar bands I loved went mainstreem. I cringed when I heard Muse blasting from an Abercrombie 5 years ago… but with age comes wisdom and I now say Thank The Lord someone is giving kids something to listen to besides the dribble they play on pop radio and Mtv(when they actually play music). So Hooray to this movement and hopefully this christmas tweens and teens will ask for this cd instead of Miley Cyrus and Black Eyed Peas.

  20. I really hope this gives kids taste…but I am sad that Muse have remixed a song just for this film. *sigh* Bye bye, credibility.

  21. roxster

@ aimie: I LOVE Death Cab, but I have to agree, I’m not entirely sure the song is right for New Moon. They haven’t all read the books, so they said they stuck with more of their general themes from any of their regular songs. I like the song…just not neccessarily for this. I’m also a little bummed Alex didn’t use her fallback, Ingrid Michaelson. She could have written a great, depressing song for Bella. They have her do it alot for Grey’s Anatomy and she always comes through. Sia would have worked well too, but Lykke Li isn’t a bad alternative.

  22. razberryswurl01

    sweeeeeeeeetttttttttttttttttttt

  23. Sahs

Hell Yes!! Whoop Whoop!! Gimme Gimme!!

  24. julie
