Sad news today for Sean Penn and wife Robin Wright Penn (well, depending on your perspective, I suppose) … Extra! TV is reporting that Sean has filed for divorce after the couple unsuccessfully tried to save their marriage from the last time they almost divorced. The couple almost called it quits back in December of 2007 but decided to give their marriage another go … unfortch for the pair, it just didn’t work out. The Penns are dunzo, y’all:
Back in 2007, Sean Penn filed for divorce from wife Robin Wright Penn, then they decided to give it another go, but it seems that it hasn’t worked out, as Sean just filed for legal separation, “Extra” has exclusively learned. The two have been married since 1996 and have two teenage children. It’s been a big year for Penn, 48, who won nearly every major award for his work in “Milk,” including a Best Actor Oscar. Last time they filed, the couple sought joint custody of the kids, which will likely be the case again this time. Penn was previously married to Madonna.
I was pretty certain that the couple were dunzo for good back in 2007 but when they decided to try and work things out and then stayed together for all of 2008, I had totally forgotten that they were near break-up and just figured that they had sorted out all of their probs. I guess it just goes to show that some relationships cannot be salvaged. Sean and Robin always looked like a good match to me … I guess, in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be. Altho, if the couple managed to patch things up last time I suppose it’s possible that they can do it again. Whatever the case, I wish them both well.

I thought it was really shameful that he did not thank Robin during his acceptance speech for best actor this year… made me think things must be rocky between them.
It’s always sad when a marriage doesn’t work – but I repsect them for giving it another go (esp since they have children).

I thought it was just me that noticed when he didn’t thank her (or really look at her) during his Oscar speech. I kept expecting him to apologize later like people often do “I was so nervous I forgot to thank my beautiful wife who supports me in all I do” or something during the post-oscar press rounds. He never did… so sad but no so surprising. He seems like he would be quite an intense person to live with.

He absolutely disgusts me in every way, from the Katrina photo ops to the Chavez-lovin to the Russian hookers to LiLo. He is truly a douche-bag to rival all douche-bags and Robin’s lucky she’s getting out of that weirdo’s world. Hope she gets a TON of cash because she’s earned it.

Surprised and saddened. They were a great, albeit tumultuous, couple At the Los Angeles Film Critics Awards dinner earlier this year they looked really happy.

Sean Penn is an asshole.He’s anti-american,homophobic and also any other anti you can think off including antisocial.The getting together was a publicity stunt for his carrear and for the movie Milk since Sean played a gay man.The whole thing was a ruse so nobody would think that Sean was gay for kissing Franco.He’s also not all there and would do anything for publicity.In fact he really has an inferiority complex.So realize that you cannot believe everything that comes from Sean Penn since he’s full of shit and is never real always a fake.

I respected them a lot for trying to work it out. Someone needs to publish an article reminding us of all the celeb couples that do stay together and have rock solid relationships, because you see this and think, doesn’t anything work out in the end?!
