Yay! Congratulations are in order for supercute couple Clare Danes and her beau Hugh Dancy who just got engaged to be married! US Weekly magazine is reporting that the pair have finally decided to get hitched:
Claire Danes and her British boyfriend, Hugh Dancy, are engaged, her rep confirms to Usmagazine.com. The couple have been inseparable since meeting on the 2007 film Evening. At the NYC premiere of Confessions of a Shopaholic, Dancy explained to Us what he looks for in his perfect girl. He told Us, “Someone who’s intelligent, somebody who makes me laugh. I know people always say a good sense of humor, but they’re usually lying. Somebody who kind of has an independent life and ambition.” Would Dancy — who appears opposite Isla Fisher in Shopaholic — consider making another film with his bride-to-be? “Never say never,” he told Us at the Sundance Film Festival. “There’s no list of people I wouldn’t work with, up to and including Claire. Obviously, I respect her as an actress immensely!” No word yet on when Danes, 29, and Dancy, 33, plan to walk down the aisle.
I don’t know why but I totally thought that these two had been together longer … it seems like they’ve been this adorable couple for a few years. In any event, it’s been quite a few months since we’ve seen photos of this couple out and about. As you may recall (or, most likely, you do not recall) the couple jetted off to Italy for a little holiday together back in July. I seem to recall that the couple looked very happy and very much in lurve :) I am thrilled that these two decided to take the plunge … they make a great couple and I wish them all the happiness in the world. Congrats!!

Really? I like Clare Danes especially in her “My So-Called Life” days. She is highly underrated.

um he cheated on his wife with her so I say good luck and hope he does not do the same to her but it would only be karma if he did

I think what Ann is remembering is that drama a few years back when Mary Louise Parker and Billy Crudup were about to have a baby and then he ran off with Claire Danes, leaving Mary Louise when she was nine months pregnant or something ridiculous.
