‘Veronika’ Decides To Release A Movie Trailer
SMG tries for movie stardom again
When last we saw former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar on the set of her new movie Veronika Decides to Die she was dressed in a white gown, filming a scene that appeared to show her attempting suicide … that was back in June. Today, we get our first look at the new movie trailer for the film she was working on all those months ago:
Strange, there appear to be no scary/dead Japanese monster-women nor does there seem to be any horribly adapted cartoon characters in this film nor does it appear to be a film of the horror genre and, yet, SMG decided to star in it nonetheless — could it be that her long streak of starring in horrible films is over? As far as trailers go, this movie (altho morbidish) looks kinda good … very art film/indie. I can’t help but *still* see Buffy when I see SMG but this movie might be a bit different … she might actually have a minor hit on her hands. I guess time will tell if it’ll be successful but, I’m pretty sure this is one SMG film that I don’t plan to skip.

I love this book and hope they do it justice.
hm … yeah, i was half expecting a creepy Japanese kid to show up out of nowhere. … but nothing. i don’t know, i don’t really know what it’s about, but it does look kinda good. maybe i’ll rent it.
The book is about a young woman who decides that life can only go downhill from where she is and tries to commit suicide, but she wakes up in a hospital to find out her attempt failed but she has done irreversible damage to herself and will die in a matter of weeks… it is the journey of someone beginning to open herself up to life and what it has to offer when she now has a time limit to hers. It’s quite a lovely book by Paulo Coelho and is not nearly as morbid as it sounds!!!
meh…not a smg fan…
She finds out she has one week to live. And Niki is right, it isn’t morbid at all and like all Coelho books it teaches a beautiful lesson.
Where is Spike?
I kid- it looks good. It’s nice to see SMG in a different role.
But I as well keep looking at her like Buffy.
I don’t know why, but I got some crazy emotions watching that trailer! I really want to see this movie..
I really want to see this. I love SMG.
I love SMG so much that I saw the Grudge and all the Scooby Doo movies. And that movie where she cooks food that makes everyone have an orgasm. So I will be seeing this. I dont even need the trailer to be so good.
So, while she has totally done a lot of weird films over the past few years, I think it is important not to forget “The Air I Breathe” and “Suburban Girl (A.K.A The Girl’s Guide to Hunting and Fishing)” … both good performances. She appears to be stuck in the indie world… who would have guessed?
looks amazing! smg is the best! i really hope this turns out to be a big hit!
ugh. i hate it when people spell my name “Veronika”. movie looks good though :)
SMG is such a great actress, ironically the most acting she had ever done was in Buffy, she was never given the opportunity to shine in any of her films. It looks like this film will change that though.
I hope this one goes well also. Sarah is such a good actress but her ability to pick and choose roles is lacking
I adore SMG! I had never heard of the book before but I am going to start reading it today. I can’t wait for this movie to come out!
this movie looks amazing!
I cannot wait to see it. : )
I also love Sarah Michelle Gellar.
I wish the lettering in the titles in the trailer would be a little different, but that’s all I have to pick one.
wooot!
This is an amazing book. My favorite of Paulo Coehlo books. Read it. This trailer makes it appear that the screenplay did the story justice. It makes me happy that Paulo would even say that SMG did Veronika justice. The trailer made me cry, just thinking about the book all over again. I can’t wait.
Is that David Thewlis opposite SMG? He played Lupin in the Harry Potter movies. I hope it is, he is an amazing actor!
