‘Twilight’ Premieres In The UK
After enjoying a record-breaking stellar opening here in US theaters, Twilight is about to take the UK by storm. The film’s protagonist star Kristen Stewart and Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke were among the guests on hand at the Vue Cinema in Leicester Square in London, England last night for the UK premiere of their film:
Teenage fans braved the cold to catch a glimpse of Robert Pattinson at the premiere of his new fanstasy film Twilight. The 22-year-old English actor plays vampire Edward Cullen in the film, which has been touted as the “girl’s answer to Harry Potter”. He was joined on the red carpet by co-star Kristen Stewart, who plays his teenage love interest Isabella Swan. Stewart, 18, arrived at the West End Vue Cinema in London’s Leicester Square wearing a single-strap blue dress, apparently unconcerned about the bitter temperatures. Twilight is based on the series of books by Mormon housewife-turned-author Stephanie Meyer which have sold around 14 million copies across the world. The film, which raked in £24 million ($35.7 million) on its opening day in the US last month, is expected to catapult Pattinson – who played Hogwarts pupil Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films – to international heart-throb status. Pattinson was raised in Barnes, west London, and first trod the boards in Guys and Dolls at his local theatre group seven years ago. In Twilight he stars as Cullen, a 108-year-old vampire who looks like a teenager and wins the heart of Stewart’s character when she moves to his hometown of Forks, Washington. The film, directed by Catherine Hardwicke, opens in cinemas in the UK on Dec 19.
Something tells me that Twilight mania is going to hit the UK about as forcefully as it did here in the US … especially considering that Robert Pattinson is a native Brit. Lest you think R. Pattz was not in the hiz last night for the UK premiere of the film, I do have a very special photo of the lad on the red black carpet last night. LOL! I think the folks in the white outfits are supposed to be representative of the Cullen family … or, at the very least, they’re meant to be vampires. Hahahahaha … the pic is just funny. Even tho the premiere looks a wee bit cheesy, I have no doubt that British Twilighters are gonna EAT this film up! The movie is still a couple of weeks away from opening in the UK … here’s hoping the rabid fans there won’t die of excited anticipation in the meantime.

I was THERE. It was freezing cold, we waited for 5 hours and Kristen and Rob didn’t even come near our section (and we were in the “prime spot” directly in front of the cinema), which pissed a lot of people off. There were so many people there - they said that it was bigger than the LA premier…4000 people showed up for 5 minutes. I was very dissapointed, it seemed like all they did was sign for the people who paid around 250 quid for a special ticket, and then did photogs and press.

haha you know Rob was just as confused by the presence of his white mafia. If they are supposed to be the cullens that is super weird…they look more like sorry attempts at two sets of Rosalie and Emmett. Also, I’ve come to the conclusion Kristen has a serious case of Vicki B face. She doesn’t smile for pictures, whether its on the red carpet or in the magazines. I’m guessing its because she doesn’t like how she looks when she does, or just feels its safest just to look at the camera. Theres a video going around of her saying hi to fans before the after-party for the LA premiere and she was super friendly, but anytime anyone asked to take a pic she’d say “sure!” and then turn and position her face and take on a sullen look, just like Posh does.

That’s really, really cruel that UK gets to see the film on December smth, while here, at some far-off corner of Europe (Latvia), we got to see it only a couple days after the premiere in USA. Oh, well. I loved it. XD

I was there too and Kristen actually looked very pretty, especially with her new hair. A couple of my friends got some photos of her and she looks much better naturally than she does posing for the cameras. I still think she looks nice in this photo though.

I HATE KRISTEN STEWART. officially, sorry if i offend anyone. she has to be the best at giving the worst poses, terrible hair/outfits, and THE MOST SOUR LOOK ON HER FACE! I understand that you can’t smile 100% of the time, but you don’t have to frown.
And Kristen Stewart is.
Her mouth is down-turned at the edges.
And we all know its a fact that it takes more effort and muscles to frown than smile.
That little “pose” isn’t natural.
But she can’t be deliberately going for that look, right?

K-Stew is always frowning. Its like she doesn’t like the attention and is telling people with her eyes: “get out of my face and stop taking pictures of me”. Its funny but, doesn’t this sort of stuff come with the territory of being an actor? Helloooo!! I personally don’t like her. She seems like she is better than the rest. She is “too good” to do another big movie and will go back to do her little indie craptastic no-one-hears-about movies. But oh well. Everyone is different! She’s still not the worst actor out there but definitely not the best.

I wish I was there! It looked interesting though, Rob was amazing as usual but Kristen looked like she wanted to kill someone.(maybe she was just cold- I would be!) and then Catherine Hardwicke was just doing her own thing which is cool I guess. I Don’t really know what the people in white were though it did kind of confuse me!
