‘The Hills’: Here Comes The Speidi, All Dressed In White Lies
ATTENTION: 'THE HILLS' SPOILER ALERT WARNING

Sooooo … last night’s episode of The Hills featured heavily in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and showed us “exactly” how the surprise wedding betwixt Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went down … which is very shocking considering the fact that the couple were wed unbeknown to MTV who were only made aware of the nuptials after the news broke on the cover of US Weekly magazine. Even still, MTV managed to conjure up footage of Speidi‘s arrival in Mexico, the proposal and the “morning after” the wedding (presumably, US Weekly owns the rights to the actual footage of the wedding itself). Additionally, Whitney Port finds out the outcome of her interview with the Diane Von Furstenberg Fashion House and makes a decision that will change her life forever:

After the jump, find out what went down and relive all the wedding and goodbye drama on last night’s ep of The Hills titled Mr. & Mrs. Pratt

Okay, so was it me or did that entire opening sequence of Heidi and Spencer arriving in Mexico seem totally forced and really bad acted? I realize that MTV prolly had to “reimagine” the events that took place in Mexico and film them as if they were real but last night’s opening segment was just … not believable. Whitney finding out that she got the job at DvF and her surprised reaction also felt disingenuous but not as much as the Speidi in Mexico scenes did. We know that MTV did not know about the wedding until after the fact so it’s pretty clear that they restaged the entire thing for airing on the show … but I don’t get how they messed up the time line. According to last night’s ep, Speidi got married at night after drinking all those tequila shots and yet the video and photos in US Weekly clearly show the wedding took place in the daytime. When Speidi are watching the wedding video from their ceremony the night before, it’s daytime both in the scene and on the video camera. The interaction between Audrina Patridge, Stephanie Pratt and Justin Bobby about how no one knew where Speidi was was just dumb and poorly shoved into the ep. It was pretty funny when JB suggested they put up missing posters … I suppose they could’ve used the coverphoto of US Weekly for the posters. I found it a bit silly for Spencer to try and talk Heidi into getting married by saying, “You don’t have to tell anyone, it’s our secret marriage” when, almost immediately after they got married, they went straight to US Weekly for publication. They aren’t even trying to make it seem real anymore. I was kinda grossed out when Heidi told her new “husband” Spencer, “I’ll show you what a wife does.” Um, ew. Elsewhere on the ep last night, Whitney said goodbye to LA and boarded a Delta flight for NYC with just one suitcase and one look back … Lord, so funny.

Next week’s finale ep looks really entertaining tho:

So much to wrap up in next week’s finale. As annoyed as I am by the dwindling quality of the show this season, I am deffo gonna check out the finale next week. It may turn out to be the last ep of The Hills that I recap. What did y’all think of last night’s ep … did you buy any of it?

and more importantly! who walks around in a bikini and high heels when they are on vacation?!?! i’m sorry, but unless you’re a stripper, you were flip-flops.
heidi and spencer are so brutal, and watching them in last nights episode made me sick to my stomach.
    gross. gross. gross. SO STAGED!

Yeah, a lot of it was definitely staged….especially the Mexico stuff. So weird cause while I was watching I was noticing the weird things too that didn’t add up. But my favorite part (even though I am so not a fan of JB) was when Justin Bobby said “You should put up some signs.” I laughed my ass off!!! I don’t like him at all but it was his way of saying “who the hell cares where they are” which I thought was probably what most of the world was thinking. Love it. :-)

What I also thought was funny was Heidi’s “acting” as she looked at herself in the mirror and played with her ring. Come on! That girl needs to get far away from that crazy guy.

dude, this episode is so funny. did anyone notice spencer try to dance? lmao. why is she attracted to him! i wonder if they watched this one themselves, bc you can tell how uncomfortable heidi is the entire time. spencer even admits that the tequila helped his sleazy scheme go through. he is such a creeper! grosse!

MTV is, to quote Heidi, “loco en el cabesa” if they think that episode was believable.

  5. Tracy says:

I love Justin because he is totally making fun of everyone and no one realizes it. He knows how pathetic these people are. Fantastic.

I think it’s so clear that MTV fabricates this show soooo heavily, but really?!? It’s so lame they tried to make it seem as though the wedding and Whitney leaving for New York happened at remotely close to the same time. Obvi, Whitney has been gone since longer than the end of November if she’s had time to film her own little spin-off series. Oh, silly MTV and their GLARING mistakes…

yeah… couldn’t agree with everyone more than i do tonight… I have never liked the whole Audrina and Justin Bobby debacle, but I fell in love with him last night with his “poster” comment… he seems so much more real than anything on this show now. actually he has always been pretty blase about any shit and drama going on… what a cool cat now… how weird that i would ever say that :)

j–The reason you picked up on Heidi looking to the crew for guidance is because THEY WERE FEEDING HER THE LINES. The whole thing was one big script. Unfortch, Heidi and Spencer do not have big acting bones. It’s sad because I used to be such a fan of Laguna Beach, which turned me on to The Hills. If the producers continue in this vain, though, I will not watch anymore. I refuse to continue to follow a show where everyone involved clearly thinks we’re all idiots and profits from it. Oh how I yearn for the simple days of the LC, Kristin, and Stephen triangle!

k so, here is the deal. I know this ep is bull and here is why. First, lets go to the part where Lauren is saying goodbye to Whitney. That lunch date they had was on the internet back in September because Lauren was wearing that outfit. How is it that Whitney is leaving for New York at the same time that Heidi and Spencer got married when they got married over Thanksgiving?? Hmm. And next episode, it shows Lauren and Heidi making up. The only time I ever heard of those two talking recently was at STK after her debut of new collection. And that was in October..weird..I call bull shit!!

Did anyone else notice that Heidi’s ring was on the wrong hand the day after they got married while she was looking in the mirror?

  11. sylvie says:

Trent! Please! PLEASE! Continue to recap the show:(
I find that if an episode is completely stupid I come on the site and you justify my obsession with The Hills. LOL
Monday Nights would NOT be the same without my Tuesday Morning Recap:( hehe

  12. Amy says:

Recently MTV obtained a permit to film in an Beverly Hills court room but it was AFTER HOURS and the “judge” in that scene is not one of their judges afterall… so apparently Spedi is still not legally married anyway..

  13. [...] @ 6:08 pm December 17, 2008 This past Monday night on MTV’s hit reality TV series The Hills we got to see what is being alleged as the wedding of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt … well, actually … we only got to see the recreated events leading up to the supposed [...]

  14. kara says:

Anyone but me think it’s terribly appropriate that Spencer’s last name is Prat(t)?

    Just sayin’.
