‘The Hills’: Here Comes The Speidi, All Dressed In White Lies
ATTENTION: 'THE HILLS' SPOILER ALERT WARNING

Sooooo … last night’s episode of The Hills featured heavily in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and showed us “exactly” how the surprise wedding betwixt Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went down … which is very shocking considering the fact that the couple were wed unbeknown to MTV who were only made aware of the nuptials after the news broke on the cover of US Weekly magazine. Even still, MTV managed to conjure up footage of Speidi‘s arrival in Mexico, the proposal and the “morning after” the wedding (presumably, US Weekly owns the rights to the actual footage of the wedding itself). Additionally, Whitney Port finds out the outcome of her interview with the Diane Von Furstenberg Fashion House and makes a decision that will change her life forever:

After the jump, find out what went down and relive all the wedding and goodbye drama on last night’s ep of The Hills titled Mr. & Mrs. Pratt

Okay, so was it me or did that entire opening sequence of Heidi and Spencer arriving in Mexico seem totally forced and really bad acted? I realize that MTV prolly had to “reimagine” the events that took place in Mexico and film them as if they were real but last night’s opening segment was just … not believable. Whitney finding out that she got the job at DvF and her surprised reaction also felt disingenuous but not as much as the Speidi in Mexico scenes did. We know that MTV did not know about the wedding until after the fact so it’s pretty clear that they restaged the entire thing for airing on the show … but I don’t get how they messed up the time line. According to last night’s ep, Speidi got married at night after drinking all those tequila shots and yet the video and photos in US Weekly clearly show the wedding took place in the daytime. When Speidi are watching the wedding video from their ceremony the night before, it’s daytime both in the scene and on the video camera. The interaction between Audrina Patridge, Stephanie Pratt and Justin Bobby about how no one knew where Speidi was was just dumb and poorly shoved into the ep. It was pretty funny when JB suggested they put up missing posters … I suppose they could’ve used the coverphoto of US Weekly for the posters. I found it a bit silly for Spencer to try and talk Heidi into getting married by saying, “You don’t have to tell anyone, it’s our secret marriage” when, almost immediately after they got married, they went straight to US Weekly for publication. They aren’t even trying to make it seem real anymore. I was kinda grossed out when Heidi told her new “husband” Spencer, “I’ll show you what a wife does.” Um, ew. Elsewhere on the ep last night, Whitney said goodbye to LA and boarded a Delta flight for NYC with just one suitcase and one look back … Lord, so funny.

Next week’s finale ep looks really entertaining tho:

So much to wrap up in next week’s finale. As annoyed as I am by the dwindling quality of the show this season, I am deffo gonna check out the finale next week. It may turn out to be the last ep of The Hills that I recap. What did y’all think of last night’s ep … did you buy any of it?

i’ve never been into this show. all so fake.

  3. sahar says:

the only real bit of sincere emotion ever displayed by heidi is her look of regret…..

  4. bbethy says:

did not even bother to watch.
but i will be watching next weeks

  5. Teri says:

Hi – totally staged…so WHY do I watch this crap???? :)

  6. Kim says:

I loved how they had Audrina, Lauren, and Lo talking about Speidi’s disappearance at Whitney’s goodbye party when really, Speidi getting married & Whitney leaving were weeks apart. That was ridiculous. As was the whole day/night thing. & did it seem to anyone else like Heidi was faking being drunk? I thought MTV had said they had been there for the wedding since they had been filming Speidi on vaca but maybe not? IDK … last night was ridiculously staged, though.

  7. katelin says:

i was definitely wondering the same thing about the timeline with heidi and spencer too. it was so badly put together, i really don’t know why i watch this show sometimes. but alas i wil be tuning in to next week’s finale for sure.

  8. Lisa says:

yeaaa, its all pretty staged…best part of the whole ep is when justin bobby said to put up signs hahaha

  9. coco says:

Did anyone else catch the line from Justin Bobby when Stephanie was saying she was worried about Heidi and Spencer? “Put a sign up”? haha! That was SO FUNNY! And Stephanie’s face of- did he really just say that?! You know, he is a dueshbag but at least he doesn’t follow a script! haha!

  10. kar says:

yeah the whole thing makes no sense. heidi and spencer got married a few weeks ago and whitney has been in nyc for at least a few months..

  11. Dana says:

I thought it was hilarious what Justin-Bobby said about the poster!!!
Total bad acting on the Pratts! They are the most cheeziest people!

  12. Kent says:

It’s pretty effing sad that Heidi had to get herself drunk and then get herself talked into the idea of getting married. When oh when will this girl grow a pair and become a woman?
The Hills are barely alive anymore. I mean, I do love the show but the last two episodes in particular show me that the producers just don’t give a tin shit anymore about making even the vaguest attempt to follow basic chronology – I can barely suspend disbelief anymore.
I bitch now, but I know I’ll be watching the finale next week!!!

  13. j says:

did anyone else find the scene when heidi was getting drunk before spencer asked her to marry him a little suspicious. go back and watch it and it seriously seems like only the producers and spencer knew what was going on, like they had a meeting before that Spencer was going to get Heidi drunk so she’ll say yes. During the whole scene you can tell the Heidi is so completely oblivious to what is going on and she keeps looking at the crew trying to give hints like wtf? and you even catch her nodding her head at him to a crew member when he’s trying to convince her to marry him but it’s as if they were like no keep going keep going. i have so much to say about this show i should start my own blog on it just to point out the hundreds of horrible editing mistakes they make in each episode such as the complete voiceover from audrina at the goodbye party that “Speidi” were missing. MTV…do you assume that we know it’s fake or want us to believe it’s real, honestly if this is the best way you can make money for your company that’s really sad someone needs to take me in and I’ll show you how a network can bring in millions.

  14. bee says:

justin bobby is my hero! best part of the WHOLE episode!!!

  15. lexbrit09 says:

in the scene with heidi and spencer outside before they presumably get married, heidi DEFINITELY glances at the cameraman, but it seems like she is in on the joke as well. obviously her and spencer just went to mexico to have a fake wedding and make a buttload of money off of selling their stupid pictures to Us weekly. i definitely do not even think she was drunk – kinda like how she got so “drunk” in that other episode that she got “fired” from her “job.” i would much rather watch the hills without heidi and spencer because then at least i can still try to pretend that its somewhat real.

  16. Froggie2004 says:

I really died when JB said “maybe we should put up posters” that was by far the best part of the whole show…classic!!!

  17. grrrrrrrrrrrowl says:

this is by far the worst show on television. trent, don’t waste your precious time doing recaps anymore!! it is totally staged and fake and AWFUL!!!

  18. Susan says:

It’s almost sad that they don’t even try to make it seem real anymore. Who edits this show? Because they may need to look for a new profession. I’ll watch the finale, but as soon as something better comes on at 10 on Monday nights, I’m outta here.

  19. Phil says:

as much as this episode was stage, which was like 90% with the exception of Laurens goodbye to Whitney… I still throughly enjoyed it.

it makes me wonder why they would “reenact” the wedding scene as Heidi getting hammered and not being in the right state of mind, as if theyre setting it up to be a “Shot-gun” drunken wedding…

and i got fucking goose bumps seeind LC AND HEIDI HUGGGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!????!

I AM SO excited to say i will be going to the finale event next week,, i can not wait to see is Heidi will show!?

  20. bOOO says:

Could Heidi and Spencer be more staged? Okay they got drunk and supposedly got married that night… except that wedding video was during they day. They just happened to have a wedding dress, suit, flowers, camera, chapel, minister, etc all at the last second… it ain’t Vegas! How and why do the producers keep them on the show?! Such a waste of money! p.s. who pours champagne to the side with their butt and boobies poked out?!
