Brangelina were the belles of the ball at the Mann Village Theater in Westwood, CA last night for the Hollywood premiere of Brad Pitt‘s new film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. The red carpet was a who’s who of celebs all vying for the chance to be seen at the premiere spectacle last night … here are a few pics from the red carpet arrivals and some info on who came out for the big shindig:

Brad Pitt was surrounded by beautiful women at the LA premiere of David Fincher’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” at the Mann Village Theatre in Westwood. Pitt and Angelina Jolie resembled classic old time movie stars. Looking a far cry from their busy mommy/daddy roles, Angie was elegant in a strapless black Versace gown, Ralph Lauren Vintage Collection drop earrings, her hair slicked back. Pitt wore a Tom Ford three-piece tuxedo suit and a moustache. But he also posed for photos with his onscreen love interest, Cate Blanchett, reportedly clad in a short, sparkly Alexander McQueen frock that looked suspiciously like a Nicolas Ghesquiere Balenciaga design, but what do I know. Brad’s parents Bill and Jane Pitt, were also on hand for their son’s big Oscar shot film. So were Jennifer Lopez, Gary Oldman, Eva Longoria-Parker, Sharon Stone and Oscar winning actress Tilda Swinton, wearing a Rodarte gown, who also plays one of Pitt’s lovers early in the film. In this incredibly moving and sweeping romance based on a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Pitt plays a boy who is born old but gets younger. He falls in love with Cate’s character whom he meets when he is very old man and she is very young girl, but they eventually hook up in the middle. It’s an astonishing film (getting major Oscar buzz) that gets you thinking about love, time, aging, youth, impermanence, relationships, faith, communication and all the people who’ve had an impact – big or small – in your life. Most amazing is the makeup and digital aging/youthing FX. Watching Blanchett and Pitt age in different directions is an astonishing feat that doesn’t distract from the magical love story. Blanchett didn’t make it to the flashy post party. But for a darn good reason. She hopped a red eye flight back home to Sydney so she could host the Wednesday “Button” Australian premiere, a big fundraiser for her pet passion, the Sydney Theatre Company.
Brad and Ange looked pretty amazing last night … the old skool Hollywood glam-look really works for them. It’s always a pleasure to see Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swinton on a red carpet … and Jennifer Lopez was lookin’ like her usual luscious Diva Latina self. Oh and I doubt that the Marley & Me premiere will be as lavish an affair as this premiere was. To be completely honest … I’m not sure I’m all that interested in seeing this film. Having seen the very extensive movie trailer pretty much gives the whole story away. BUT, there are two reasons why I will prolly make my way out to theaters to check it out — the movie is based on a story written by F. Scott Fitzgerald and was directed by David Fincher (you may recall that Pitt and Fincher worked together on the stunning film Se7en). Since this is one Fitzgerald story I haven’t read yet, I’m intrigued to see what it may look like on the big screen. Add to that the fact that Fincher is one of my fave movie directors and, well, it looks like Mr. Button will be getting my $15 at the box office (unless I see it at home in Detroit, MI where my out of pocket expenses will be lowered to approx. $10).

$15!?!?!? Damn. And I thought it was expensive in NYC. Trent you need to sign up with AAA or some other group that sells discount theatre tickets. The first thing I do when someone asks me about seeing a movie is check my stash of $6 tix.
I knew this movie would garner Oscar buzz but will have a tough time this year vs. The Dark Knight. In any event, this movie looks really good.
I can’t wait to see this movie. It looks really good!! There are actually a lot of movies coming out I want to see. Doubt opens this weekend and it looks FANTASTIC!!
shave that shit off your face brad Angie looking flawless as usual
well no one can say angie is sporting a baby bump now lol i love the dress she has on. $15?? wow lol i pay $7.50. im actually looking forward to seeing this movie…i dunno if i’ll pay to see or just wait it goes on dvd. it seems interest.
Yeah, I’m excited for this one! Wow, Jennifer Lopez looked frickin’ amazing! Of course Angelina Jolie looked faboo as always. God, that woman is so gorgeous, it’s ridiculous!!!
I know someone who was actually able to see a prescreening of Benjamin Button – he said it’s an incredible film, the best he’s seen this year. I wasn’t that excited to see it before, but after hearing his review I will def be there on opening day.
I really can’t wait to see this movie. It looks fantastic.
And dame, Jenniffer Lopez looks amazing!
J Lo always looks great. But why does she make that weird face in all of her pics. ‘OOH LOOK AT ME I AM SO FAMOUS”. Please, she has not had a hit movie or album in years.
$15!!!!! Wow!
Let us know where you see the movie and what you pay! We’ll call it “The Curious Case of where Trent spends his Buttons”!!!
okay, why is angie ALWAYS wearing black?! like does she know any other color…seriously. and Angie, you’re a pretty woman, stop with these black boring dresses….that dress does nothing for you!
JLo looked amazing, but give it a rest with that face honey…it looks rediculous.
She looks incredible.. what a gorgeous woman! I saw some other pictures from the premiere and she looks fav! Always does. Glad to hear that stage Brad had been sporting s for a movie, I don’t entirely hate it but I like him better without it. Awesome couple, they look great together.
All of these directors are getting attached to certain actors. I love it. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I love love love love Se7en and Fight Club and The Game. He’s come a long way from Paula Abdul music videos. Good for Fincher.
I’m looking forward to watching this film on Xmas.
Angelina wears colors from time to time—remember that amazing yellow dress she wore?! Black is her signature color. :) I’m more concerned what JLo was doing there? Eva Longoria-Parker would show up at the opening of a mini-mall, I’m sure…but JLo? I don’t get the connection…
i read the Fitzgerald story, and judging from the trailer of this movie, the story and the movie are nothing alike except for the fact that the man ages backwards. Whatever.
Man…my friends said it and I have to agree. Angie is sucking the hot out of Brad. It might be aging and the fifty-five children, but his face has been looking very weathered in the past couple years and not in a good way.
Yet, he’s still pretty hot up on the big screen. Curious.
And put some makeup on Cate! I heart you still, though.
BTW, Anyone else think Cate and Tilda could be long lost sisters?
Trent, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a short story – very easy reading – I’m sure you could finish it in 30 minutes. I really enjoyed it, although it seems the movie is a bit different from it. You can find it online for free – it’s in the public domain.
Trent, you need to buy your tickets at Costco. $15 for a pair of tickets. And you can buy a huge bag of candy to sneak in. That’s how a cheap bastard like me rolls. lol
