My Top Movies & TV Shows Of 2008
Just like it was for music, 2008 wasn’t really a great year for movies or television … the Writer’s Strike at the start of the year really decimated Hollywood and severely hurt television programming. That said, there were a few really amazing films (highlighted by really amazing acting performances) and a select few TV shows that really brought the entertainment this year. Here is my list of my Fave Movies of 2008 … I think the #1 pick might surprise you.
At #10 is The Incredible Hulk:

This movie may not have been the best superhero film of all time but it beat the hell out of Ang Lee’s Hulk and really did a service to both the comic book series and the TV series from the ’70s. This film really paid homage to the beloved TV series for the first half of the film and then represented the comic books very well in the second half of the film. All I know is that I had a really good time at the movies watching this film … and isn’t that what’s most important?
At #9 is W.:

Oliver Stone films are really hit or miss and this one was a pretty nice hit. Josh Brolin played a superb GWB and managed to put our soon-to-be ex-president in real context. I am no GWB fan by any stretch of the imagination but this film actually made him a sympathetic character. Props to Oliver Stone for actually doing the impossible.
In the #8 position is Doubt:

This film is all about the acting. And among the amazing acting performances, Meryl Streep far outshines everyone else in this film. She absolutely turned in the most powerful acting performance this year … she absolutely deserves all the Best Actress awards and, IMHO, the Best Actor awards as well — she is that good in this film. I feel bad for Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams, who both turned in exceptional performances, cuz Streep just steals the spotlight. She made this movie such a delight for me to watch.
At #7 is Milk:

At long last, the story of Harvey Milk’s life made it to the big screen … and Sean Penn did his memory a great service. Milk may not have been a blockbuster but it is a very important story that is told so expertly that I wish it had made more money at the box office. Penn’s cast of supporting actors were also pretty phenomenal … as a whole they told a tale that an entire generation of people were hearing for the first time — which was eerily similar to the events that were playing out on the streets of SoCal this past November.
At #6 is WALL•E:

OMG … what can I say about WALL•E that hasn’t been said a million times before? The movie is just cute as hell and actually caused kids and grown adults alike to fall in love with a sweet little animated trash compactor. I had my doubts about this film before I saw it for myself … but man, once I saw it — I was hooked. WALL•E is absolutely the Best Animated Film of 2008.
After the jump, check out my Top 5 Fave Films of 2008 as well as my list of my Fave TV Shows of the Year …
My #5 pick is The Dark Knight:

Don’t get me wrong … I love The Dark Knight but I really felt that, for me, there were a few movies that were better this year in terms of overall entertainment value. That said, Chris Nolan gave us a Batman that is worthy of the top awards that are handed out for outstanding achievement in film making. Heath Ledger was just stunning as The Joker … I absolutely contend that he would still be getting Oscar buzz if he hadn’t passed away last January. He is deffo my pick for Best Supporting Actor at the coming Academy Awards.
At #4 is Iron Man:

THE best superhero film of the year … funny and action-packed with loads of amazing special effects and a great story — this film had it all. The casting was pretty perfect … except for Terrence Howard as Jim Rhodes (who I did not care for at all) … especially Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts. Robert Downey, Jr. is just the man … there ain’t anyone else who could play playboy millionaire Tony Stark. It’s too bad he won’t win any awards for his work on Iron Man cuz he really deserves one.
My #3 is Slumdog Millionaire:

The perfect rags to riches story with a great modern twist. I laughed, I cried, I actually stood up and cheered at this movie. The youngest actors were BY FAR the best thing about this film. Believe the hype, Slumdog Millionaire is really as good as everyone says.
My second fave movie of the year is Sex and the City:

At long last, the Sex and the City Movie made it to the big screen and it did NOT disappoint. The movie was the perfect length to feel like a mini-season of the show. The fabulous clothes, the steamy sex scenes and the camaraderie between Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda all conspired to make a far too entertaining movie. I saw this film 3 times in the theaters … and 3 more times since it came out on DVD. I just can’t get enough!
And my #1 fave movie of the year is Cloverfield:

OK … I’m sure a lot of y’all will not agree with me on this one but, in all honesty, this was my fave film of the year. Since it came out last January it really set the benchmark for me and, truth be told, I wasn’t as thoroughly entertained by anything else as much as I was by Cloverfield. I’m not saying it is the best movie of all time but for 2008, it was the perfect marriage of viral marketing, Internet savvy and fun movie-making that all came together IMHO perfectly. I still contend that it was as “real” as a monster invasion movie could be. It really had that Blair Witch Project magic that grabbed me entirely. I was actually surprised that so many people hated this film (mostly because of the shaky camerawork) because I loved it so entirely. While there were some pretty amazing films released this year, I have to say that my fave of the bunch was the one that made me believe the most.
Here are my Top TV Shows of 2008:
- Skins
- In Treatment
- Battlestar Galactica
- Gossip Girl
- Project Runway (both seasons)
- 90210
- Breaking Bad
- Torchwood
- Saturday Night Live (mainly for the Tina Fey as Sarah Palin skits)
- All the election coverage on CNN and MSNBC
Which films and TV shows were YOUR faves in 2008? Is anyone with me on Team Cloverfield?

Where’s Lost? Can’t deny Season 4 was one of the best!
December 28th, 2008 at 9:30 am
I really liked Cloverfied! AND Skins! <3333
December 28th, 2008 at 9:30 am
Hmm, I’m a little disappointed that you don’t have The Curious Case of Benjamin Button on your list, but I suppose it wouldn’t be on your list if you have not yet seen it. I had the chance to see it on opening night and I simply fell in love with it. I’m sure you would have ranked it had you seen it. I can’t wait to read what you have to say about the film.
December 28th, 2008 at 9:41 am
I’m sorry but 90210 is horrible on the other hand I love that GG is on your list now thats quality tv
December 28th, 2008 at 9:48 am
i agree with Cloverfield. in the end it was a good movie. i was shocked to see where TDK ended up on your list. that seems to be everyones #1 movie. for me…i really didnt see a whole lot of movies this year so i have no idea what my #1 would be. as for the tv list im with Sharon…how could you leave out Lost? haha
December 28th, 2008 at 9:51 am
Um, 90210 and Project Runway over season 4 of LOST? Wow, ok……….yeah, sure. I am going to assume that you haven’t seen The Curious Case of Benjamin Button ’cause it would’ve been on your top 10 if you had.
December 28th, 2008 at 10:02 am
I can’t believe Weeds didn’t make the list!!!!
December 28th, 2008 at 10:10 am
SatC the movie and GG <3333
December 28th, 2008 at 10:13 am
Twilight??? Where is that on the list??
December 28th, 2008 at 10:17 am
I am just that cool that I think Biggest Loser (both seasons) was the best show of the year. Then 90210, Desperate Housewives, and Big Brother
December 28th, 2008 at 10:20 am
YEAHHHH CLOVERFIELD!!!!!!! WUHOOOOOO!
December 28th, 2008 at 10:21 am
omg i agree with chris weeds is the best tv show ever
December 28th, 2008 at 10:29 am
mad men, pushing daisies…
December 28th, 2008 at 10:46 am
I haven’t seen Cloverfield so I can’t really say if I agree or disagree with your positioning of it on your list but I feel the same way when it comes to SATC. It probably topped my list! I enjoyed The Dark Knight and Iron Man as well. I also enjoy some GG and 90210. I was pleasently surprised that 90210 wasn’t as horrible as I thought it would be and so far….it hasn’t really messed with the old (and better) one.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:00 am
LOVED Cloverfield.
and Skins is probably one of my favorite shows EVER.
love GG too.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:09 am
Dexter???
December 28th, 2008 at 11:13 am
I am glad you put Wall-E and especially Slumdog Millionaire in there. =)
December 28th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Definitely with you on Cloverfield!
In terms of TV shows how about Dexter, Greek and – most of all – Brothers & Sisters?
December 28th, 2008 at 11:19 am
I just saw slumdog millionaire and I agree…excellent film. I grabbed my husband’s leg at the final question….Glad to see it on the list.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Trent–I can’t thank you enough for NOT making The Dark Knight your number one movie! =) THANK YOUUUU!!!
December 28th, 2008 at 11:33 am
Twilight and Ugly Betty! Where are those Trent?
December 28th, 2008 at 11:36 am
Trent, I can almost 100% guarantee that once you get addicted to HIMYM it will ALWAYS be on your top 10 lists. (:
December 28th, 2008 at 11:41 am
In Bruges was one of the best movies of this year, you should see it.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:44 am
no dexter? Wtf? Dexter season 3 is my pick for best season of the decade, flawless! I agree with the others who said 90210 blows and Lost season 4 rules!
December 28th, 2008 at 11:49 am
DEFINITELY agreed with Cloverfield.
Personally, How I Met Your Mother is still my favorite TV show, and its starting to replace Friends at the top of my All Time Faves list.
And while I loved all of the Tina Fey/Sarah Palin skits on SNL, I feel like they’re in another one of those cast-transitional phases. I don’t even watch anymore. The musical acts are all terrible, the skits just aren’t funny any more.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:51 am
Skins FTW! *lurves on Sid/Cassie* The new 90210 is notable ONLY for La Doherty and her sass; the new kids suck like the Disney rejects they are. GG and TW are made of all kinds of awesome. CHUCK BASS STOLE MY PANTIES! Mmmm
December 28th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
You should TOTALLY watch Supernatural on the CW. It’s got two (very hot) brothers (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles) in an AWESOME car with FANTASTIC music as they take down supernatural beings (demons, ghosts, poltergeists, mythological beings). It’s DEFINITELY my top show of 2008.
December 28th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Come on Trent. “The Office” didn’t make your top ten for best tv show of the year? Its by far the funniest show on tv right now. 90210 just doesn’t do it for me anymore. IMO its kind of boring, but im still trying to hang in there, and give it a chance. Oh, and lets not forget “Desperate Housewives”. I think this season is better than THE FIRST SEASON. Its just that good.
December 28th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
What, no Twilight???? haha I knew that wasn’t going to end up here. Just didn’t hold a candle to the books (though the “original” script floating around on-line is pretty good…if its the real one). Cloverfield doesn’t shock me…I remember how much you loved it when it came out…. I hope How I Met Your Mother gets onto the list next year! Have you been watching it like you said?
December 28th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Hmmm, I’m not feeling many of your television picks., Loved me some Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone and the bit of Lost I saw
This year Grey’s Anatomy wasn’t worth clicking on the television for
December 28th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
SKINSSS! yesss im totally obbsessedddd with that show! cant believe chris died though..so sad
i recommend u watching true blood trent. totally my favorate summer show :DD
December 28th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
I’m totally on your team Cloverfield! this movie was a total blast! :D
December 28th, 2008 at 12:33 pm
SNL does not deserve to be on the list. Sarah Palin – Tina Fey was great but the rest was horrible.
December 28th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
I am so glad that someone else rated Iron Man above The Dark Knight!
December 28th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
My top shows are definitely:
1.LOST
2. Mad Men
3. 30 Rock
4. Gossip Girl
5. Project Runway
Top Movies so far:
1. Wall-E
2. Vicky Christina Barcelona
I have yet to see Slumdog MIllionaire but, from what I’ve heard, I wouldn’t be surprised if that tops the list. As for Cloverfield, that movie was a pleasant surprise because I expected it to be horrible. They took something that could have been so cliche and gave it an original twist and I appreciate that.
December 28th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
I really did love Cloverfield, but I can’t say that it was my favourite film of the year. The rest of the films on your list, I either really disliked, or just didn’t see.
December 28th, 2008 at 1:08 pm
Oh my gosh, I agree 120% about skins being the best of TV!
I’m so glad to see other people who enjoy a good BBC Show who live in the US, none of my friends share that appreciation lol
December 28th, 2008 at 1:14 pm
“I wish it had made more money at the box office.”
MILK is in limited release and probably won’t open wide until January/Oscar Nomination time.
December 28th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
hmmm election coverage by cnn and msnbc?? you gotta be kidding me….
December 28th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
i didn’t see Cloverfield simply because of the shakey camera work. i have BAD motion sickness and i think i would have thrown up if i had seen that in theatres (even the regular theatres).
i have no idea WHAT my top movie/TV show of 2008 is … WAYY too many to look through. props on making your lists. i knew it must have been hard!
December 28th, 2008 at 1:57 pm
I LOVED Torchwood this year! I have yet to see Cloverfield but Sex and the City was very, very funny.
December 28th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Good movie picks, but no Dexter? That show is crazy good
December 28th, 2008 at 2:17 pm
cloverfield was way too predictable and not even scary. you forgot about dexter when you listed the top tv shows. i can see why you didn’t list weeds- it is getting a bit lame. but dexter is just too good to not mention. all the election coverage was just way too boring. same things over and over again. blah.
December 28th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Sex and the City #2????? I love you Trent but wtf? I am a long time SATC watcher and the film was Bad with a capitol B.
Hve you seen True Blood yet? I’m catching up on it now and it is phenomenal.
December 28th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
ps I can see why Dexter wasn’t mentioned. The first two seasons were great and this one was meh. This was the first season that wasn’t taken from the books and the writing and plots suffered greatly beacaude of it.
That’s my $.02 anyway for whatever it’s worth ;)
December 28th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Wow I can’t believe you don’t have Lost on your TV show list… it was definitely the best this season. desperate housewives has also been really great this season. As for Cloverfield.. I loved it til the ending.
December 28th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Dexter!!!???
December 28th, 2008 at 4:12 pm
hmm.. didn’t see any 30 rock on there. if you haven’t seen it, trent,, i definitely recommend you take a peek. though i don’t know you at all, it seems like it would be your cup of tea. it’s all the genius of tina fey on SNL times a thousand!
December 28th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
SKINS!!! ahhh trent i love you for that! i just wish they had shows like that here in the usa, it was just so real. i had to watch it bootleg online, but i fell in love with the series and it makes me want to move to england!
December 28th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
i have GOT to see slumdog millionaire.
December 28th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
All right, I agreed with most of your picks and while Sex and the City should have made the list, I don’t think it deserved the #2 spot! Bottom line – they’re getting OLD and parts of the movie were a little depressing.
December 28th, 2008 at 4:41 pm
NO to 902010, that show is sooo bad.
I’m surprised Dexter is not on your list, I thought you watched that too, and I think it’s just BRILLIANT.
December 28th, 2008 at 5:00 pm
Yay! Team Cloverfield :]:] That movie was so rad. I saw the movie with no expectations and I think that is why I loved it.
December 28th, 2008 at 5:30 pm
I liked some of your picks, Trent. Here are my top 10 TV Picks of 2008.
1) Battlestar Galactica
2) GREEK
3) Smallville
4) Ugly Betty
5) 30 Rock
6) The Office
7) Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
8) Bones
9) Desperate Housewives
10) Brothers & Sisters
December 28th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
I was really anxious to see Cloverfield at the beginning of ‘08, but was let down. There were parts of it I enjoyed, and felt the shaky cam was essential to setting up the instense atmosphere, but I don’t like not being giving answers. Why were the monsters attacking? What happened to everyone? Etc, etc. I know that we’re not meant to get these answers, but that just shows my tastes as a movie-watcher.
December 28th, 2008 at 6:23 pm
OK you’ve convinced me to give WALL-E another chance, chucked it on a month or so ago, butonly gave it about 5mins… thought it looked like shit… but will try it again tonight
December 28th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Skins is absolutley brilliant!!!! I’m sick of all these shows with poor little rich “teenagers”; all the characters are completley un-relatable to your average plain jane, whereas Skins is real, gritty and a fantastic watch.
I also loved Summer Heights High (best thing to come out of Aussie since The Castle), The Catherine Tate Show, Jacky Brown Diarys…but most of all OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE!!!! Cheryl West is the worlds most kick-@rse mum
December 28th, 2008 at 6:51 pm
wow your idea of top ten movies is shit!
i dont see how the hulk and dark night dont even make top three
December 28th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
im so happy you chose cloverfeild as your number one movie of 08.. i TOYALLY agree.
i love that movie HARD, but i also love JJ Abrams HARD. lol
<33
December 28th, 2008 at 7:15 pm
I had a baby this year, so I didn’t see many movies. However, since I was stuck at home for awhile, I saw TONS of TV and I am surprised that How I Met Your Mother didn’t make your top 10. Personally, I think it is the best show on TV and not enough people watch it. In fact, I made my husband turn off the season finale of last year because I was laughing so hard I thought I was going to bust my C-section stitches!!! If y’all don’t watch it, you should start.
December 28th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
I love me some DEXTER … definitely favorite tv show EVER… after The OC haha.
If you do watch it, i don’t see how it didn’t make your list! :(
Cloverfield was pretty cool… wouldn’t say #1. The only thing I liked about Dark Knight was Heath Ledger. I must see more of the other movies on your list I hear so much hype about!
December 28th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
I just LOVE SATC, I love the movie ! It would have been my number one!
December 28th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
SKINS IS MY FAV SHOW TOO!
December 28th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
where is true blood on your list? that show is #1 of 2008!
December 28th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
HMMMMMM… not sure about Cloverfield being #1
December 28th, 2008 at 8:09 pm
Seriously? No “Lost”? (I assume that “Mad Men” didn’t make your list because you haven’t watched it yet!)
December 28th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
Wow you watch Skins? It’s the best show ever! Cassie is just AMAZING!
December 28th, 2008 at 8:18 pm
i have to say that “Sex and the City” was pretty good, but i really loved “Eagle Eye” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” I am probably one of the last people left on earth who hasnt seen the dark knight yet.
As for shows, this season of “its always sunny in philadelphia” was absolutely hilarious. I really really love lipstick jungle too. SNL was great this year too. Kristen Wiig is my favorite person in the whole world.
December 28th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
My favorite TV:
1. Lost
2. Pushing Daisies
3. Dexter
Anything else, including “Man Men” – which I plan on getting – I haven’t watched. Those are pretty much the only TV shows I watch, so I can’t really say that I made a fair list. hahah
My favorite music:
1. Robyn – Robyn
2. Dragonette – Galore
3. Taylor Swift – Fearless
4. Britney Spears – Circus
I also haven’t listened to enough music to make a list. I’d check out the best-of-2008 lists and buy some new albums and check into them after the New Year.
I also haven’t watched enough movies – too busy to.
December 28th, 2008 at 8:54 pm
Yes for Skins! Best tv show hands down.
December 28th, 2008 at 9:02 pm
1. The L Word.
2. The Rachel Maddow Show.
December 28th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
I don’t understand how people can balk at someone else’s list of favorites. Everyone can make their own list.
December 28th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Skins is incredible. INCREDIBLE
December 28th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
WOW!!
When i saw Cloverfield i was surprised cause i nearly forgot it was released this year. Haha
But after you explained why it made your list – internet hype etc… it did add up to making it a great film. I think without the hype and the guessing of the monster and then watching the movie, it wouldn’t be the same! But it is a great movie and the camera-work was a great experience to see in a movie instead of the usual “show off cinematography” that some directors try to attempt.
THE DARK KNIGHT on the other hand, yes it was a good movie and is the first batman movie i have ever watched in entirely. But it doesnt deserve #1. Heath was amazing, that truck scene was breathless and the feel, texture and setting was superb but Iron Man and others IMO were better. I aint the best Batman fan im more Marvel, but i do prefer it over what ive seen of Batman Begins but Dark Knight is still worthy of top lists.
ALSO, THANKGOD you didnt include TWILIGHT! I mean, i admit i havent read the book and i probably would have been more caring for it if i had. But when i hear people saying “its the greates movie, its so amazing etc…” it makes me think the Dark Knight is the best movie ever. Okay, i expected more action altho i knew it was about romance, but compare it to other romance films and twiligh is no where to be seen. For a great movie you need great actors (and they werent bad but nor great), great design, cinematography, setting and excitement. I felt some excitement and the setting probably matched the book but Harry Potter for example sets the bar for films adaptions of books in terms of series. Even Narnia is better i reckon than twilight. As a film without seeing the book, OVERRATED but even if i red the book i feel it is still overrrated.
December 28th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
OMG i LOVE SKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
incredible. i’m dying to watch slumdog millionar because of anwar :D
December 28th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
YAY for the BBC!
I love Skins and Torchwood too. haha
December 28th, 2008 at 11:08 pm
Dexter! My favorite show, hands down. It was an awesome season.
December 28th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
I LOVE that you have In Treatment some love.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:27 am
TRENT I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE SKINS!! my fav show ever!
December 29th, 2008 at 1:36 am

Friday Night Lights.
Watch it. Really!
December 29th, 2008 at 4:07 am
I thought you were such a twilight fan?
December 29th, 2008 at 5:04 am
best movie: TWILIGHT!!!! it was so cheesey & hilarious, plus Rpattz is hawtness.
Best TV: Gossip Girl
December 29th, 2008 at 6:11 am
@laura — exactly, I do love Dexter so much but this season wasn’t all that.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:31 am
I am a 30 something midwestern mom and I am on the same page as a trendy cool guy living in LA! I don’t know how good that is for you.but totally agree with your lists. I loved Cloverfield too and Gossip Girl has to be my favorite show- I am just over Lost.
December 29th, 2008 at 6:32 am
I COMPLETELY agree with you when it comes to Cloverfield… to me it was absolutely brilliant. My fave movie of the year by far
December 29th, 2008 at 10:06 am
Loved Cloverfield!!!
December 29th, 2008 at 10:22 am
Pushing Daisies is my favorite TV show, I could just cry that it got cancelled. If you haven’t seen it, you should check it out!
And my #1 movie was Twilight, I know not everyone would agree, but I loved it!! Already saw it 6 times and I’m itching to go see it again.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:16 am
I love that Skins is number one on your list!!!! Im assuming you watch it on the U.S Network, so if thats true, you have to watch season two! Season three is going to be airing so soon and the hottest character of Skins, Maxxie, is on a new television show called Britannia High (not airing outside UK yet, but you can watch online)
December 29th, 2008 at 11:34 am
What about True Blood? Weeds? Biggest Loser? Come on now.
December 29th, 2008 at 11:55 am
Yay!!!! 90210 loves it
I’d add Ugly Betty & Desperate Housewives…
And I Loved your Movies but no James Bond?? =(
December 29th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I thought “Cloverfield” was great, but not my pick for fave film of the year. And, like other people said, where’s “Lost”?! This past season kicked BUTT and made me actually really care about the show again.
December 29th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
I am shocked and appalled that you left off Lost on this list. You seem to be able to blog about it when it’s bad but when it has the best season since season 1 and it doesnt even make the list??
December 29th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
I totally forgot that Cloverfield came out this year. It was a really really fun movie.
I will have to agree with a lot of the people posting comments, Dexter would have been very high on my top 10 list.

I have to agree with adding Mad Men to the list. I rented the first season when AMC was advertising the h*ll out the second season premiere. It is one of the most engrossing shows I’ve ever watched.
And the second season was off the chain, especially when it came to Joan, Betty and Peggy’s storylines. The season finale was so unbelievably good… oh man!!
And Pushing Daisies was another favorite. ABC sucks for canceling it. The only other show I watched regularly was Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil, but the runs were so brief.

Actually it’s not the first time the story of Harvey Milk has made it to the big screen. The documentary, “The Life and Times of Harvey Milk” is superior to the quite good “Milk”.

I LOVED Cloverfield, but my favorite was by far Iron Man.. can’t lie. RDJ was perfect. And I agree with you on TDK… It was a good movie, but it wasn’t perfect like everyone makes it out to be. haha

I totally agree with Cloverfield but your TV picks? Where is True Blood? Stephen Moyer is the hottest newcomer this year and makes the sexiest vamp ever! Find the graveyard scene on youtube..you will be hooked!!

I just stumbled upon your blog last night, and I’m backtracking and loving it! You are so entertaining and honest about your observations, and I was well pleased with your picks here. Especially about Cloverfield! I never understood the negative hype on that movie, I also thought it was one of the best realistic monster films we’ve had in a long time. The ’shaky’ camera work was not the worst I’ve ever seen (Quarantine, anyone? Which, seriously – was. not. that. good. The camera work made me sick to my stomach). I was able to get past it pretty easy. The performances were great, and the viral marketing campaign was genius and a lot of a fun to get in to. I am very much looking forward to seeing Slumdog Millionaire, it looks amazing, and I adore that you chose Skins as the number one TV series of 2008. What an awesome show. I caught it online early last year, and I ordered an import of seasons 1 and 2 from Amazon, which was absolutely worth it. I do agree with some of the other posters that Mad Men should definitely be up there, a truly fantastic, intelligent show that’s very different from a lot of the television out there.

[...] Pink Is The New Blog: Gay entertainment blogger and stencil-font enthusiast Trent counts down his favorite movies and TV shows of 2008. The list is refreshing because he doesn’t seem to give a damn what his audience wants to see on a year-end list. The top three film spots go to an eclectic mix of Slumdog Millionaire, Sex and the City and Cloverfield. We’re glad that Milk wasn’t snubbed entirely, but c’mon… Number 7?! Hopefully the Academy ranks it higher than that. ____________________________________________________________________ POSTED BY Joseph Sanchez AT 04:22PM var addthis_pub = “hxwebmaster”; var addthis_title = “A Year End Review of Year End Reviews”; addthis_url = “http://hx.com/archives/2531″; FILED IN Web-Only | Tags: AfterElton, Film, Gay Fleshbot, GMSC, Hotness, Joseph Sanchez, Music, MuuMuse, New Years, Pink is The New Blog, Playbill, Porn, Sex, Theater Leave a Comment [...]
