Morrissey’s Album ‘Years Of Refusal’ Gets New Artwork
Back in October we got our first look at what was presumed to be the photo that is to be used as the cover artwork for Morrissey’s new album Years of Refusal. Today we get to see that photo as the official album artwork and get a few deets about the album’s release date along with some tour information information:

According to Moz’s official website, Years of Refusal is due for release on February 16 with the album’s first single I’m Throwing My Arms Around Paris set for release one week prior. Paris will be released with two new b-sides — Because of My Poor Education and Shame is the Name (which features vocals by Chrissie Hynde). Morrissey has also scheduled a few dates at the Royal Albert Hall in the UK in May with homecoming concerts in his hometown of Manchester on May 22 & 23. But, before he does those UK dates he will be performing a few warm-up shows here in the US — Ticketmaster has already listed a date in Florida and a date in Virginia. As a huge Mozzer fan, I am very excited by all of this news!

I’m dying to hear what the new stuff sounds like … Morrissey rarely disappoints. It really does look like 2009 is going to be a great year for concerts :)

You’re actually a Moz fan? Hmm…well you are Latino in LA heheh…that original album cover is not good. And, his music is not great lately, either. I’ve been a fan for years. All of his stuff sounds the same now. I miss the days of Bona Drag, Viva Hate,etc..he’s lost that spark. I hope this new record is good….

The cover art is…. unsettling.

I agree with Bleeding…for once! I just don’t think that cover is very smart on Moz’s part. Nice open shirt and all, though. I think that baby is related to Mozzer. Though, not official as of yet.

FK, Moz is adored by Latino’s in LA..there is a DVD based on this. It’s a known fact. Latino’s love him all over, actually. Bleeding Ears, yes you do need a shower. I can smell you from here. Esp your butt.

I LOVE him. Always have! I was so jealous when a friend of mine met him a few years ago and apparently he was warming and extremely open and friendly, which is not what a lot of people would expect from a man of many talents who is rather reclusive and very private, but I did see an interview with him once when he mentioned he totally respects all his fans. There are rumours that he’s also doing festivals next Summer, which excites me even more!

I like how he is private, but at near 50, it’s about time to come out. Err, right? I mean, it would be great for his gay fans who are struggling to see him be open about it. Especially since he’s an icon for the disaffected youth. He was for me, still is.

Avi: Wow! I didn’t know that. That’s so interesting.
I majorly heart Morrissey. Sigh.

haha… I don’t think it is my butt you’re smelling, I believe that would be your rank personality.

Yes, my rank personality. Goes great with being a Morrissey fan. Now I see why your ears are bleeding. You don’t listen to anyone else’s opinions and you think what you say is right.

I listen to plenty of opinions, just not yours : ) for it is better to be right, than self righteous *points at you in secret and giggles*

Sometimes people need to be … unsettled … It forces them to think about why they feel so unsettled. A man carrying a baby like that (even though women carry babies like that all the time) … A GAY man with a baby is very unsettling to alot of people. He’s confronting people’s fears.
