‘Marley & Me’ Premieres In Hollywood
Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson and gads of other celebs made their way out to the Mann Village Theater in Westwood, CA (the site of the LA premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button earlier this week) for the Hollywood premiere of their new movie Marley & Me. Once on the red carpet, the topic turned from this dog movie to the subject of Jen’s sexy GQ coverphoto … which Jen claims isn’t meant to make a statement … it is what it is:

Looking stunning and dressed for the occasion, provocative cover girl Jennifer Aniston worked the red carpet with costar Owen Wilson at Thursday’s Los Angeles premiere of their comedy Marley and Me, at the Mann Village Theater in Westwood. Summing up the film’s universal appeal – Marley is a tale about a dog – Aniston, 39, called it “a true story, about a family and their life.” With nearly everyone also interested in the tale behind Aniston’s new eye-opening GQ cover, the star was asked what sort of message she was trying to send by wearing nothing more than a necktie for the magazine. She replied, with a laugh: “I wasn’t trying to make any kind of statement!” Aniston’s boyfriend, John Mayer, did have something to say, on the other hand. Arriving about 10 minutes before Aniston and Wilson, the musician told reporters that he was there to “support my girl.” Meanwhile, Marley costars Eric Dane and Alan Arkin also spoke up – in support of Aniston’s GQ pose. “I’m going to renew my subscription,” said Dane. “”She always looks fabulous, she will look fabulous at 50.”
LOL … I think that fabulous at 50 comment was meant as a compliment even tho it kinda doesn’t sound like one. While Brad’s premiere culled together all of the Hollywood A-Listers, Jen could take comfort in the fact that Kristin Cavallari of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County fame deigned to make an appearance at the event ;) Honestly, I doubt Jen cared who was there as long as she had her boo John Mayer there to lend his support. After the jump, check out a couple photos of Mayerston arm in arm as they made their way out together from the Marley & Me afterparty last night …

Jennifer Aniston is on top of the world these days … she seems to be everyone’s topic of conversation, whether she likes it or not. It is really great to see her looking so happy. I’m a big supporter of Mayerston … here’s hoping they spend a happy 2009 together … and mebbe bring forth a little bundle of joy?

I support Jen all the way. She’s such a beast. And by beast, I mean a delicate flower. Haha.

I can’t believe John Mayer went with Jenn to the premiere. They are making big moves! Although he looked pretty cozy with a reporter at Jenn’s own premiere party!!

Kelly…totally the perfect assessment. Her and Eric Dane are both gorgeous people but they look horrible here. At least his excuse is its prob just a bad shot. She hasn’t been able to pull off the curls with her short haircut. The trailer for her new movie The Ugly Truth just came out though and it looks super cute, Trent you should check it out!!

omg i wanna see this movie so bad! but i heard it’s really sad, and i don’t wanna be sad right now lol

Not interested in the movie, but I don’t like when celebs do all this stuff–ie, pose nude–and then hate that it’s the talk of the day. If you have the balls to do it, then own up to it!! “Yeah, I did it, because dammit, I’m turning 40 and I look fanfuckingtastic!”
I’m not a big Jen fan as it is. She’s just Rachel Green. Period. Nothing else…and why? Because she doesn’t change. Good actors change something for roles–voice, size, and hairstyles. And this lady is always the same…Rachel Green. So, she can get older and nakeder all she wants, but she will never hold my interest.

Ummm, La Princesa-
Jennifer Anniston does not need to change. She is a fabulous, strong woman who is both spiritually and confidently herself…that is it. She is not just Rachel Green, she is someone that does not need to change, because directors and wirters direct, produce and write “around her”. She is the one in charge, and she owns whatever she creates. People consistently go to see her for her and who she is. She maintains healthy friendships, and is grounded and down to earth. I am glad that you think you are fabulous at “almost 40″, but give credit to those who are successful and true. She may not be the most beautiful outside, but I would love to have her strength and perserverence.

Her dress is gorgeous. I still think it’s odd to see her with John Mayer, but they look cute together in those pictures of them leaving the party or w/e. Good for her, she is doing whatever she wants.

It’s unfair that people don’t think of her as “hot” because quite frankly she is a lot hotter than most of us! She is just not sexually hot like say, Angelina is, but she has a sweetness and relatability to her that makes her hot, much like Sandra Bullock and Reese Witherspoon. I think it’s realistic to say though that she’s not the most versatile of actresses and that people go to her films b/c they like watching her as a person, rather than the way she embodies her characters. It’s kind of like Julia Roberts; she always just seems like “Julia playing ___ ” to me.

Kristen Cavallari is so beautiful but she looks old.

Jackymama…that’s my point–these people “write around her.” Meaning she’s kind of at a standstill in her acting. Or that these writers/directors/producers are looking to cash in on her tabloid fame. And I’m not the one who is almost 40; she is…and she does look good. She’s a pretty lady. What I’m saying is if Jennifer is going to pose for something like that, SHE needs to expect that people are going to ask her about it and she needs to stand up for the choice she made…especially if she’s “the one in charge” who is going down this look-at-how-hot-I-am-and-I’m-going-to-be-40-soon road.
Jennifer Aniston: the human being–I’m sure she’s fine as is. I don’t know her. I am sure John Mayer knows what he’s doing.
Jennifer Aniston: the actress–needs to change. There’s been ZERO growth in her. Every movie has the same hairstyle, the same clothes, the same everything…dull dull dull…
I like the example of Reese Witherspoon. I think she is a superb actress, a wholesomely attractive woman, who takes chances in her films–and she doesn’t seem to be in it for fame but for the sake of crafting characters and telling interesting stories. Reese isn’t putting her personal life out there, going on Oprah to discuss private details of her life, or appearing with as little on as possible on magazine covers in order to sell movie tickets….and she still can open a movie!
With Jennifer Aniston, she’s falling victim of that woe-is-this-celebrity-life-I-lead syndrome, because in one breath she’s saying “I don’t want to discuss my personal life,” and in the next breath, she’s divulging details of her personal life. Choose a side!

La Princesa: AMEN!!!; my sentiments exactly!

I can’t wait to see this movie. Jennifer looks gorgeous. And I agree with you, a baby Mayer would be so cute.

La Princesa – you took the words right out of my mouth!!!
December 13th, 2008 at 7:33 am
la princesa you do make a good point.
I want to make a point and see if anyone else feels the same way:
in general, I think celebs want to dictate how the press views them, and they can do it. they just choose not to. brad and angelina, lately low key except on tabloid covers. Jennifer aniston: she doesn’t have to garner all the press she does, but she choose to divulge information. and yeah she’s backpeddling her own views.she was FINE until she started talking about brad and jon, now the press will pick up again and she’ll complain about too much press. but she can choose NOT to say anything about the past at least and let it go.
celebs want the attention on their own terms, and if they fully exerted themselves and their “star power” they could really turn the tables on the press and paparazzi, but in the end they “claim it’s part of the fame”.
however the woe pity is my life thing on jen: we all have to remember that her ex is in a bigger light than she is currently due to who he’s sleeping with, and she’s just doing the “I’ll show him what he’s missing” riff I bet and now is able to feel better about herself. it can’t be easy for her to see his face and ang’s for premieres and whatnot and feel bad for a good while.

What is that STUPID Kristin C. person doing there?! Her 15 seconds of fame OUGHT to be OVER by now!
December 13th, 2008 at 12:29 pm
I think Jen is kind of between a rock and a hard place when it comes to paparazzi, as a lot of celebrities are. If she talks about her relationship with John or Brad or Angelina, people want to know more and she is followed by photographers. If she doesn’t talk about it, people want to know ANYTHING and she is followed by photographers. Granted, it is a BIG part of the lifestyle that she chose, but some things would be hard to not have private. I don’t know that I would ever get used to having people shout at me and take pictures of me every time I was on a date in public. And you KNOW when she goes out with John and something big has happened with Brad and Angelina, she’s asked how she feels about it. Imagine trying to carry on any life with another person and everyone wants to bother you with what your ex, Brad Pitt, is doing? Also, the way that she is portrayed by some of the media outlets…as a broken and desperate divorcee seeking a man to marry her and knock her up before she gets too old…I’m sure it’s hard not to harbor some animosity towards the tabloids and the people who read them.

I loved the book. Made me cry a couple times. I don’t think I want to see the movie until it is on DVD and I can make a blubbering idiot out of myself in my own home. My yellow lab looks exactly like Marley.
