Okay, I get where Rufus is coming from, it’s awesome that he knows that he doesn’t want to get married. But isn’t it a bit irresponsible to go on record as ‘anti’ at this time? The fight isn’t about his personal choice, it’s about equal rights, and having access to those that heterosexuals have. Which include hospital visitation, immigration rights and much more. Maybe he’ll meet someone who’ll change his mind one day. Maybe not. Regardless the option to get married should exist for everyone!
I agree davincidoodle – do the gay celebs think before they speak? You know every headline is going to read “Rufus Wainwright against gay marriage”. Now is not the time to be ‘um-ing and ah-ing’ to the media about this subject. Waxing lyrical to media, about how they don’t particularly care for marriage is not helpful!!
