Jesus Is My Co-Pilot
Welp, I’ve made my way from Detroit to NYC without much fuss … but the strangest thing happened yesterday afternoon. Apparently, due to the high force winds that ripped thru Southeastern Michigan, AT&T’s wireless services got knocked out and we were unable to use our cell phones. I have to tell you, it’s a strange thing not being able to use the phone when you are so used to having access whenever you like. On my way out of town, I paid a visit to ACO Hardware to pick up a stuffed Jesus doll (cuz, really, where else would one find such a thing?) so that I could take him with me to Iceland. Connie brought a Jesus doll to the Holiday Party for the gift exchange but he was stolen away from me … $5 bucks at the hardware store and the wrong was righted:

Hey, if Madonna can have a Jesus of her own, why can’t I? I’ve decided that Jesus needs to come to Reykjavik with David and me to see the sights … I’ll be sure to share pics along the way ;)
So, yeah, David and I were reunited last night and we had a very nice night together. We are both very excited to meet up with my friend Diana who is already in Iceland … we are looking forward to ringing in the New Year together :) We leave for the airport in a few hours … from tomorrow on, I’ll be comin’ atcha from the land of Bjork and elves. Wee! I can’t wait!

Have fun in Iceland! I was there just over two years ago and had the time of my life! Met so many wonderful people that I still keep in touch with.
Too bad you didn’t make it in time to go to Sirkus before they tore it down. It was a tiny little bar with HUGE personality. As you’ll find much of Iceland to be. Be sure to head down to the harbor and head for Bæjarins beztu pylsur, and ask for pylsur with everything. ;)
God I miss Iceland.

@Panti Christ — not sure if he’s washable, when you press his hands (that are magnetic so he can pray) he says 5 different things … Amen, Let’s Pray Together, etc.

I have a Buddy Christ (from the movie Dogma–it’s a bobblehead, though) in my car. I’ve never seen one of these.
My friend has a stuffed New Kids on the Block–a Joey one–and she takes it with her every place she goes/visits. She has an entire photo album dedicated to him–at the Alamo, in Vegas, at Disney, at the Washington Monument, etc. It’s really cool. :)

Lucky you! At least your flight wasn’t as horrible as mine! Flying from London, England to Calgary, we were just flying over Iceland when these horrendous winds were causing all kinds of turbulence. Lasted 3 hours!! And yes, half the plane got sick and an medical doctor was also paged. Not fun at all! I managed to keep everything down, BTW.

Jesus is going to be your Amelie garden gnome? Looking forward to see what kind of international intrigue he stirs up. . .
