Fran Drescher Headed For The US Senate?
From The Nanny to US Senator? Funnylady Fran Drescher is reportedly interested in filling the US Senate seat in New York that will be left vacant once Hillary Clinton becomes our next Secretary of State in January. Could this be the most brilliant thing ever?
Fran Drescher wants to replace Hillary Clinton in the Senate. She says she’s qualified. “I’ve just been given the appointment of U.S. diplomat,” she said at a party for Le Cirque: A Table in Heaven at that restaurant on December 3. “My title is public diplomacy envoy for women’s health issues, and I just got back from a four-country European tour of duty. I believe next I’ll be sent to the Middle East.” Also an anti-cancer activist, Drescher has been considering a run for office. “I’ve been very successful in getting a bill passed in Washington,” she said. “I was thinking I’d take the next four years to lay some groundwork, but I’m throwing my hat in the ring.” What else makes her a good candidate? “I’m an authentic and honest person,” she said. “And I think Capitol Hill needs more of that.”
OMGITHINKILOVETHISIDEASOMUCH! Even tho some may scoff that Drescher doesn’t have the political wherewithal to do the job of a US Senator, I contend that her work with her charity Cancer Schmancer shows that she is serious about getting important work done and is capable of bringing the much ballyhooed “change” that so many people claim to want in Washington DC … and she’s kinda funny sometimes. Could it be that Fran Drescher is the just person we need in government that might help save the world? Thoughts?

Robert Kennedy once filled that seat. The thought of Fran Drescher taking it is pretty appalling to me.

I’m pretty sure that Caroline Kennedy is also interested in that seat. I’m pretty sure that’s bad news for Fran.

Leave Fran alone! She’s smarter than you think. She’s been through a lot too, including her brutal rape in the 80s. Does that make her a candidate for Senate? No. But, she’s still a great talent. And she looks great for 51, too.

The Nanny was a character she played 15 years ago (that Fran created, wrote and produced). She wasn’t just an actor who turned up to the set. Fran Drescher’s not an air head. She’s spoken out articulately about the rape she went through and her cancer (and has fought for that cause). Obviously she won’t win if Caroline Kennedy is running – but she would be great in politics …

I think if we had less political crazy minds and more political/normal people ideas in offices our country would run smoother and be a better place. I’m not saying all politicians are corrupt but a lot are, and since most of them are too old, so are their ideas!

Well, the actual Senator will be appointed since Hillary has yet to fill her term, so it’s pretty much up to the Governor of New York.
That being said, I absolutely adore this idea! Our Senators could use some oversight–hence, a nanny.

It has already been signed, sealed and delivered to Caroline Kennedy, who I am pretty suuuure, is a helluva lot more qualified to serve than Franny D!
The DEMS have been pursuing CK for years, anxious to give her ANY position she seemed willing to accept. She has held off until now. Which speaks volumes for BO and the potential she sees in him.

Im a dyed in the wool republican. So you can say im a lil biased. I would rather have fran dresher in that seat than any Kennedy except mabe JFK. Even though JFK was a dempcrat he knew the power of tax cuts.

oh my gosh yall do need to leave her alone and she has been through alot how many of yall have gotten raped, or had cancer and actually fought for it and written a book and also helped ppl get through it shes a great women very beautiful shart and funny, and shes a great rolemodel.
