Dinner & Fun With The SoCal Family
Last night I got together with my LA family, Le GangTM, for a joyous holiday dinner at RockSugar at Century City so that we could partake in one another’s company one last time as a group before we all fly off to our homes for the coming holidays. I won’t be able to see any of them again until I return home in two weeks so it was very important for me to get to see as many of them as possible before I fly off to Detroit tonight. Here are a few pics that Darion snapped at last night’s fête:

The food was sumptuous, the gifts were sweet but it was really all about our being together as a family one last time in 2008. I have grown very close to all of my LA friends and it pains me to leave them … but I have another family of friends back home in Detroit to get to so I can’t be too sad about leaving. I am such a lucky person … no doubt. While I get to do some pretty incredible things thanks to the blog, I am most thankful for the special people I am lucky enough to count as friends in my life. I get to spend so much time with such amazing people whenever I like … they are all there for me no matter what the situation and I truly love them all dearly. It is my sincere wish that all y’all get to enjoy the holidays with friends and/or family in the coming week … it’s a special time of the year to relish in people that mean the most to us.
As I said, I fly out to Detroit (where the current temp is 14° F and the wind chill is -3° F) tonight and am *praying* that my flight is not delayed or canceled. If I do make it out tonight, I’ll be comin’ atcha from the Midwest until Sunday … then it’s a stop-over in NYC before we jet off to Iceland for the New Year. The coming week looks like it’s gonna be hectic but I’m gonna do my best to bring the goss on a daily basis as usual. Some days may be lighter than others but, the goss will come.

Trent – I live in Minneapolis and it’s not so bad. i mean once it hits negative anything, it’s just cold. Pack your long johns and be prepared for your toes to take 3-4 days to thaw out:)
Welcome back to the Midwest!

Good luck with your travels today! I think today seems to be the clearest of the next few days so hopefully you will not have any problems. I, on the other hand, am driving out of the D tomorrow or Wednesday to visit family and am hoping the forecast will change so I’m not stuck here.
