David Beckham, who recently made his way to England ahead of the holidays with his family, has parted company from the Beckham childrens and made his way to Milan, Italy for a quick trip. Becks arrived in Milan this morning for a required pre-season medical check-up before attending an AC Milan soccer match later on this weekend, so that he can see his soon-to-be (and very temporary) team in action. Here are a few pics of Becks making his arrival on Italian soil this morning:

David Beckham will get plenty of headlines when he arrives in Milan on Saturday but his new temporary employers will probably be wishing he could take to the pitch against Udinese a day later rather than watching the game from the stands. AC Milan have been beset by injury problems to key players this season and are sweating over the return of Kaka ahead of this weekend’s match. And with Andrea Pirlo forced off at half-time during Wednesday’s 2-2 UEFA Cup draw against Vfl Wolfsburg and Gennaro Gattuso out probably for the rest of the season, now would be a good time to blood the former England captain. However, Beckham cannot start playing for Milan until the January transfer window opens and in the meantime, coach Carlo Ancelotti shows no sign of letting up his complaints about injury problems. “This is a difficult time for us because we’ve been decimated by injuries which prevents us from taking to the pitch with the team we want to or from playing our best,” moaned Ancelotti.
Becks sure does seem to have an affinity for struggling soccer teams. You may recall the LA Galaxy was in pretty dire straits in the years before Becks showed up and joined the team. Of course, the team hasn’t really gotten much better since Becks became a Galaxian but … well … that’s beside the point. As much as it pains me to loan out Becks to a new fútbol club (for fear that we won’t get him back in one piece), I do hope that he can help Milan in their time of need. After the jump, check out a couple more pics of Becks in Italy — since it is a very stylish country, Becks decided to whip out the accessories and show ‘em how it’s done …

Wee … he looks great! I think he is going to fit in with the überstylish Italians very nicely. My guess is that Becks will be back in the UK shortly after this weekend’s match so that he can get back to celebrating Xmas with his family. Ho Ho Ho!

He used to be a fucking ace soccer player. Now… not so much. Never was one of my favorite players but I did recognize that he had a LOT of talent. Not to say that he doesn’t anymore, it’s just that he’s not THE Beckham he used to be.
He should have joined Milan straight from Madrid & not wasted his time (and the talent he has left) going to LA.
I hope he finds this suits him & tries to get a permanent move over the next few years, I know he won’t do it this year but maybe in another year or so he’ll realise he’s much better off playing at a top side in a top league.
@bam! – no! Europe can’t have him … we need him in LA :)
Ah well, I am a Milan fan so perhaps I’m a bit biased!
England last week, home in LA this week, then off to Italy. God, how does he stand the jet lag???
David will fulfill his contract with the Galaxy because he is a true man of his word. He should’ve gone to Milan from Madrid but what can you do about it now? Especially because DB knows how much has been invested in him in the US, he just won’t go. And I see David retiring in LA anyway as his kids seem to like it and uprooting them one more time would probably be a bad move.
Mmm. And he adds to the gorgeousness that is AC Milan; Madini, Shevchenko, Kaka…and now Becks.
Welcome to Milan baaaby :D
i don’t think you can really compare us football, with european standards
ac milan would probably still kick their asses.
and i side with inter…
