Cate Blanchett Gets A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
Cate Blanchett was honored with the 2,376th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier today in a ceremony that took place here in Hollywood, CA. Here are a few pics of the ravishing Cate at her award ceremony just hours ago:

Academy Award-winning actress Cate Blanchett receive[d] the 2,376th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Friday, 20 days before the release of her latest film, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.” Steven Spielberg, who directed Blanchett in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”; David Fincher, the director of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” and one of its producers, Kathleen Kennedy, [joined] Blanchett in speaking at the late-morning ceremony in front of the Egyptian Theatre. The 39-year-old Blanchett, a native of Melbourne, Australia, won a best supporting actress Oscar for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in the 2004 Howard Hughes biography, “The Aviator.” She received best actress Academy Award nominations for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth I in the 1998 film “Elizabeth” and 2007’s “Elizabeth: The Golden Age.” Blanchett also received best supporting actress Oscar nominations her role in the 2006 drama, “Notes on a Scandal,” as a teacher having an affair with a student; and as a version of singer Bob Dylan in 2007’s “I’m Not There.” Blanchett’s other prominent credits include the role of High Elf Queen Galadriel in all three “The Lord of the Rings” films, “The Talented Mr. Ripley” and “Babel.”
I can’t think of a more deserving actress to receive this honor. Cate Blanchett is an incredibly talented actress who shines in every film she appears in. I’m usually very surprised at/grossed out by some of the folks who are chosen to be honored with Walk of Fame stars (*cough* the Olsen Twins *cough*) but this time I am fully on board. Cate is Hollywood’s jewel and she deserves this accolade and more! Much love and congrats!!

Absolutely well-deserved!
How do people get these? Do they pay for them? Does Hollywood pay for it? Just curious…

Yay Cate! Best actress on the planet.
Have the Olsen twits really got a star? Oh dear.

I believe it is honored to the stars.
And, it is much deserved though the Olsen twins have been known for along time since they were basically born and I do believe that they deserved a Start of their very own as well, Trent.

Cate is the most versatile actress currently working. I’d watch her read the newspaper.

Cate is such an awesome actress. One of the best these days and the only reason I watched that absolutely horrendous indiana jones movie.

I actually think that the Olsen twins did deserve the star. They’ve been stars since they were babies, and they have successfully created a multi-million dollar brand while they were still children with their videos, etc.
The day Ryan Seacrest got a star, though, I lost all respect for the Walk of Fame.

Umm she could be doing blonde for a film role, hellooo…Ryan got a star on the Walk? Oh jeezus..now, he just needs to come out of the closet. And about the Olsens’, they should lose theirs based on their awful fashion sense. Gigantic jackets with man shoes and bohemian jewelry while grabbing a Starbucks frapp? Priceless.

she is so incredicly gorgeous and brilliant and just seems like an interesting and classy person overall.

She did the best Bob Dylan character I’ve ever seen; I was literally stunned that this woman could play such a deep, thoughtful male character. I’ve seen her in Elizabeth as well. Overall, she is just a spectacular actress and well-deserving of a star.

Well deserved!! I think the walk of fame is a pile of baloney, with the likes of the aforementioned Olsen twins and Seacrest adorning it – I mean come on, WHAT exactly have the twins given to the world of acting? Who will people still be talking about in 80 years time? Cate Blanchett’s acting prowess or their little contribution to the world of sitcom?
But I digress… it is recognition at least, and Cate deserves all of that and more.

The stars THEMSELVES actually PAY for their OWN star! LOL! Something CRAZY like $10,000 or so–small price to pay for IMMORTALITY, I suppose :)

I just admire how she thought to hold her shirt to her chest when she bent over. In a world where flashing has become so commonplace, it’s nice to see such a ladylike gesture. Oh, and I admire her acting too and think she totally deserves this!

I love Cate. She’s one of the few outstanding actresses of our time.

I love the fact that red lipstick is making a comeback! 50’s style, gotta love it!

She’s so fabulous, look at her preventing her own wardrobe malfunction. :)

she deserves it! and she looks like a hollywood movie star should look like, love that hot bitch!

Love her. Pure class. Pure talent.

She’s channeling her name sake Kate Hepburn in that outfit. She looks like an old time, glamorous movie star.

They get the stars because someone has to send in a nomination and they PAY. Though it is well-deserved, pretty much anyone can get one of these if they pay for it.
