Beyoncé Does ‘Elle’ Magazine
Beyoncé, who appears to be on pretty much every single magazine cover in existence these days, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Elle magazine. So until she lands the covers of Field & Stream and Good Housekeeping, take a gander at her Elle mag cover and check out a portion of her coverstory interview:
Tina Knowles on the time she slapped Beyoncé during a promotional appearance for acting like a diva: “My husband came up and said, ‘Tina! She’s got the No. 1 record on the radio!’ I said, ‘I don’t care!’ I was terrified. I had seen people take your child and turn them into something you didn’t want them to be. I taught my girls to pick up their own suitcases. Pretty is as pretty does. Like my mother said, ‘You got to be cute on the inside.’ “
On what her romantic education has taught her: “The worst thing you can do is press [someone]. Because I’m satisfied with myself, things that are supposed to happen will happen.”
On love: “Find somebody who makes you a better person. You are who you’re around. And if I don’t want to be like you, I don’t want to be around you.”
On the hardest thing about her marriage to Jay-Z: “It is a power struggle. But if I didn’t respect someone and they didn’t have that strength, then I would be bored. I wouldn’t be attracted to them. But at the same time, I’m not looking for someone to dominate me.”
On having children: “No way! I’m terrified of delivering a child because I saw my nephew being born. That traumatized me. I’m only 27. I’ve got time.”
On being able to express her dark side by playing the role of Etta James: “I’m a people pleaser. I hold a lot of things in. I’m always making sure everybody is okay. I usually don’t rage; I usually don’t curse. So for me, it’s a great thing to be able to scream and say whatever I want.”
On how the Etta James role changed her: “My mom had to leave the set. I don’t normally curse. Maybe twice a year. I have to be really livid. Somebody saying things or scheduling something where I’m not in control. It was freeing, but it was also the most emotionally draining time of my life. Everyday I would come home, my eyes would be completely swollen.”

Again with the raccoon eye make-up — it’s too harsh. The over-the-top shoulderpad thingies aren’t even worthy of a comment. She looks good in the purple, tho. Personally, I think she looked much better overall in German GQ mag.

i love B. yea she might have overdone it with the whole ’sasha fierce’ thing but gotta admit, the girls got game. not only is she just 27 and so accomplished..miss B managed to get hip hops most notorious bachelor to settle down. thats hot.
ps…did everyone always love madonnas fashion sense? we still love HER. fashion is just a statement..sometimes you gotta be bold!

Sasha Fierce=her worst mistake EVER. The girl has catchy tunes, and BETTER than Britney, but she’s far more annoying. I think Jennifer Hudson should have played Etta. Why does Beyonce get all these roles? Is she that much of a box office draw?On a side note, Jay Z is fugly.

Im50000Mayja – What the hell? 27 is not old . Many women in their late 30s have children nowadays. And you should not “pop out kids” just to get it over with. You should do it if or when you are emotionally ready and mature .
On a different note, I am so glad to finally see a celebrity’s mother who actually parents and keeps her daughter in line instead of riding on her coattails or being a fame whore.

Lot of haters on here! Can’t stand a successful woman who is not a trainwreck and just works hard, has the talent, a loving marriage, and tons of star power. This woman works hard and seems like a really fun person to know..I am not too big a fan of these photos but its not her, it’s whatever focus the photographer and makeup artists went with..just not my kind of looks. But Beyonce is a fab woman who is in control of her life and a great person to aspire after versus the Britneys, Lindsays, and Parises.
I like the Sasha Fierce aspect..all she’s saying is she has her “Beyonce” side and her sassy side..don’t most of us woman have a version of that as well? Whether we name the sassy side or not, obviously she’s in the entertainment industry and may bring more attention to something like that than we would.
And 27 is young! She just got married (at a very typical age..she’s not 19 or 42 or whatever you deem “the right age” by society), why should she have kids already? Some of you people who post on here find a reason to hate on anything..even for those who work hard and earn their respect the right way..but turn a blind eye when accepting and respecting complete trainwrecks…..you don’t have to think twice about the types of people in Hollywood I am implying…

I’m not a fan of Beyonce. I can’t stand her overdramatic singing and I think her acting is awful. But I will admit she is stunningly gorgeous!!!

I’m loving that makeup on her. it is harsh but its very fierce. My favorite is the one with the Bowbelt, black leotard with the gold and black jacket. She shut it down with that picture the rest are so-so
