Britney Spears Is Back In The Driver’s Seat

Literally and figuratively
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Beware! Britney Spears is back to drivin’, y’all. Altho the girl has made major strides in turning her life around, I have to confess that I’m still a bit anxious to think of our dear Britney behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. It’s not even that I don’t trust her … she just seems to have really bad car karma … like, for serious. But, nonetheless, she’s back to driving … here are a few pics of Brit Brit as she drove with a friend to the Alley Cat Dance Studio last night where she was reportedly auditioning dancers for her upcoming tour. Life & Style magazine reports that altho Wade Robson was on hand to choreograph and help stage her most recent string of live performances, he will NOT be on hand to work on her 2009 tour The Circus starring Britney Spears:

Britney Spears is moving on from longtime choreographers Wade Robson and Andre Fuentes, the duo who successfully launched the pop star’s comeback with appearances in Europe and Japan and on U.S. TV, Life & Style has learned. “Wade and Andre were only hired to choreograph the promotional tour for Circus, which ended in Japan last week,” an insider tells Life & Style. Wade directed Brit’s dance moves for her first big U.S. tour in 1999, and Andre has worked with Britney since her 1998 L’Oréal Hair Zone Mall Tour. There’s no word yet who will replace the pair. But we’re sure Brit will have somebody on board soon!

HMM … I was actually very surprised to learn that Britney was teaming up with Wade again, especially considering the history the two of them share (it is rumored that Britney cheated with Wade while she was still dating Justin Timberlake and that is why the pop stars broke up). I say, a fresh start is the best way to go. Wade Robson may be a great choreographer but there are a lot of really great choreographers out there for Britney to choose from. She needs someone who is going to challenger her and come up with wicked hot routines that will thrill the audiences that are dying to see her back on stage. I hope that Brit’s people take their time and choose wisely … her comeback tour has to be stellar. Looks like I blogged too soon, it turns out that choreographer Jamie King has been selected to be the tour director for The Circus starring Britney Spears. He previously directed Britney’s Oops … I Did It Again Tour, Xtina Aguilera’s Back to Basics Tour and, most recently, Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour. Sounds like Brit Brit is in good hands :)

Oh and regarding Britney driving again … well, let’s just say I’m glad that I’ll be away from SoCal for the next couple of weeks. That should be plenty of time for Britters to get in some driving practice so that I can return to the hopefully safe streets of LA in January ;)

Hugh Jackman Does NYC

Cuteness ahead
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Hugh Jackman, his wife and kids have made their way to NYC for the holidays and, altho it’s pretty cold in the Big Apple these days, Hugh still manages to bring the hawtness. You know a man is the epitome of hawt when he doesn’t need to strip down to look sexy … even bundled up, he’s a fox. Here are a coupe cute pics of Hugh and his daughter Ava Eliot making a getaway from their Manhattan residence and a couple of Hugh just lookin’ hot:

I understand that the Jackmans spent some time hanging with and visiting fellow Aussie Naomi Watts who just gave birth to her new son Samuel Kai last week. Don’t you just love how all the Ozians like to stick together? These pics are proof positive that Hugh Jackman is a hottie for all seasons … Deborra-Lee Furness is one lucky beyotch!

Amy Winehouse Covers Up, Still Topless

Thanks for the mammories
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Yesterday we got to see a few topless and fairly NSFW pictures of Amy Winehouse sunnin’ her bare breasts while on vacay in St. Lucia down in the Caribbean … and today, we have a couple more topless photos of Amy to check out but this time, thankfully, she had the decency to cover up a bit:

Not that going topless is indecent, I should clarify, but it is wise of the oftentimes tragic chanteuse to cover up a bit with so many paps swarming around. Again, I have to say that this sight of Amy — half-nekkid and all — is the best, most healthy I’ve seen her in ages. I’d much rather see pics of the trainwreck relaxing and recuperating while on vacay rather than roaming the streets of London at all hours of the night. I hope she’s happy … and I really hope she’s committed to cleaning up her life. I think it’d be fabulous if 2009 was the year that Amy Winehouse got clean, got back to work and got & stayed healthy.

Robert Pattinson Gets A Haircut

Say bye-bye to his signature locks
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Robert Pattinson, everyone’s favorite vampire these days, has done the unthinkable and has cut off all of his trademark and very unruly hair. R. Pattz is prolly as famous for his wild hair-do as he is for his acting prowess … but now, the hair is practically all gone … take a look:

Will young girls run into the streets wailing and gnashing their teeth? Possibly. Will others see this major style change as a good thing? Likely. I, for one, like the shorter ‘do on the lad … it’s a good look for him. He looks a bit like a mix between Jason Priestly and Jake Gyllenhaal … which may or may not sound like a good thing. I think it’s safe to assume that he’ll have grown back his intemperate hair by the time he begins filming the Twilight movie sequel New Moon … but in the meantime … do we like?

Dinner & Fun With The SoCal Family

The TV Guide
Monday, December 22nd, 2008

Last night I got together with my LA family, Le GangTM, for a joyous holiday dinner at RockSugar at Century City so that we could partake in one another’s company one last time as a group before we all fly off to our homes for the coming holidays. I won’t be able to see any of them again until I return home in two weeks so it was very important for me to get to see as many of them as possible before I fly off to Detroit tonight. Here are a few pics that Darion snapped at last night’s fête:

The food was sumptuous, the gifts were sweet but it was really all about our being together as a family one last time in 2008. I have grown very close to all of my LA friends and it pains me to leave them … but I have another family of friends back home in Detroit to get to so I can’t be too sad about leaving. I am such a lucky person … no doubt. While I get to do some pretty incredible things thanks to the blog, I am most thankful for the special people I am lucky enough to count as friends in my life. I get to spend so much time with such amazing people whenever I like … they are all there for me no matter what the situation and I truly love them all dearly. It is my sincere wish that all y’all get to enjoy the holidays with friends and/or family in the coming week … it’s a special time of the year to relish in people that mean the most to us.

As I said, I fly out to Detroit (where the current temp is 14° F and the wind chill is -3° F) tonight and am *praying* that my flight is not delayed or canceled. If I do make it out tonight, I’ll be comin’ atcha from the Midwest until Sunday … then it’s a stop-over in NYC before we jet off to Iceland for the New Year. The coming week looks like it’s gonna be hectic but I’m gonna do my best to bring the goss on a daily basis as usual. Some days may be lighter than others but, the goss will come.
