Paris Hilton Opens Up About Gettin’ Burglared

Sympathies, please
Sunday, December 21st, 2008

As you may have heard a couple of days ago, Paris Hilton’s home was pilfered of about $2 million in jewels and, at long last, Paris Hilton is finally speaking out about the heinous crime. Talking exclusively to Life & Style magazine, Paris opens up and reveals how this burglary has deeply affected her person:

Paris Hilton exclusively tells Life & Style she’s “devastated” by the burglary of over $2 million worth of baubles from her LA home between late Thursday evening and 4 a.m. Friday. “I am devastated. I cannot believe someone broke into my home. They took items that had such sentimental value that no one will ever be able to replace,” she tells Life & Style. “I’m just thankful that I wasn’t there when it happened.” The heiress was out partying in LA when her home was broken into. An insider tells Life & Style that “millions of dollars of jewelry was stolen — diamonds, necklaces, rings, watches and family heirlooms from her grandmothers.” Luckily, though, the insider says the thief was caught on tape. “Paris has surveillance cameras set up in every room,” says the insider, who’s seen the tapes. “The thief was wearing a black hoody and knew exactly where to go, like he’s been there before.” Taking no risks, “Paris has upped her security team to three 24-hour bodyguards, and she has someone on her property at all times,” adds the insider. “Detectives are doing a huge investigation.”

Um, is anyone else *shocked* that Paris Hilton has video surveillance cameras in every single room of her home? I mean, really? I guess when the mood strikes to get bizzy in any part of her house, she’ll always have a record of her exploits … sounds like a pretty sweet set-up … you know, in a I really have zero interest in ever seeing what kind of footage she has on that camera sort of way. In any event, I suppose it was a good thing that Paris loaded up her home with cameras cuz mebbe we’ll be finding out who the hoodlum thief is. Wouldn’t it be fabulous and totally sad if the burglar turned out to be one of her higher profile friends? If the thief rummaged thru her home as if they’d were familiar with her home … I guess it could be any of the loser hangers-on that she tends to consort with (hey, where was Cisco Adler on the night of the robbery? Oh yeah, he’s got an alibi). It’s kinda hard to feel all that sorry for someone as rich and spoiled as Paris Hilton but the thought of treasured heirlooms handed down to her by her grandmothers being stolen is kinda sad. This’ll teach the Hilton family to entrust Paris with the family jewels. Actually, I think this proves that Paris shouldn’t be trusted with family jewels of any kind.

See how the jokes kinda write themselves? ;)

David Beckham Becomes #32 For AC Milan

It's officially, official
Sunday, December 21st, 2008

After arriving in Milan, Italy this weekend to undergo some routine pre-season medical testing, David Beckham was on hand for a press conference with AC Milan president Adirano Galliani to show the world the new uniform with the new number that he will be wearing during his short tenure as a member of the AC Milan fútbol club:

Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder David Beckham was introduced at AC Milan yesterday, as the cultural icon will begin his short loan spell at the Italian Serie A giants next month. The 33-year-old Beckham said the move fulfills his dream of playing with a top Italian team and his goal of staying in shape during the MLS offseason to regain a spot on England’s national team. “I wouldn’t take this opportunity if I didn’t think that I could help the team and help the club,” Beckham said … “I’m really happy to be here, it is a great honor. I hope to add to the team, I hope to give everything that I’ve always given in my career. To be able to have the chance to play for another one of the biggest clubs in the world, I’ve played for the biggest club in England, the biggest club in Spain and now I’m going to be playing for the biggest club in Italy, is amazing. I’ve been very lucky in my career to have done that, and I’m just going to enjoy it because I think to be given this opportunity is incredible.” added Beckham … England coach Fabio Capello has said it is not enough for Beckham to train with AC Milan – he must also play to be considered for the national team. The loan begins Jan. 7 and expires March 9, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani said. He will start work Dec. 29. “He is in really great physical condition, I am told, and I believe that after the period of preparation in Dubai, I believe he will be up to playing,” Galliani said.

With his new stint as an AC Milano, comes a new jersey number … here are a couple of promo pics of Becks modeling his new uni and his new number:

And the first big question of the latest chapter of his globe-trotting career was swiftly answered when it was revealed that he would wear the No 32 short – “it was the first one I was offered,” he said. Dressed in a blue jumper, jeans, mirrored sunglasses and a scarf against the chill he smiled and waved at the small group of fans who had gathered to welcome him. After landing at Milan’s Malpensa airport he headed off to a private clinic for a medical, which he reportedly passed with flying colours. As he left the airport he said: “I am honoured to be here and to play for one of the most successful clubs in the world. I have played for the biggest club in England, the biggest club in Spain and now I want to play for the biggest club in Italy.” AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani said Beckham would stay with Milan until March 8. He added: “We resolved numerous problems, much larger than you would normally have when you buy a player – with the US League, with Galaxy and with all the Beckham entourage.” Beckham also was keen to emphasise that his stay in Milan would be strictly football. “Fashion had nothing to do with coming to Milan,” he said. “The red and black shirt and the history of the club took me here.”

Strictly football, huh? No Fashion, huh? Well, we’ll see about that. After the jump, check out a couple photos of Becks with wifey Vicki B. as they stepped out on the town in Milan last night to show just how unfashionable they plan to be while staying in Italy for the next few months …

Jennifer Aniston’s Walk Of Shame, Part Deux

Twice as nice
Sunday, December 21st, 2008

After a second night in a row of public cavorting with one another, Mayerston apparently spent a second blissful night together Friday at John Mayer’s NYC pad … as a result, Jen got caught making a second walk of shame as she left his abode the day after. Just like the first time she got snapped doing the walk of shame, she hid her face from view … but this time she didn’t do so quite as ridiculously:

Contrary to what folks think, I am very supportive of this relationship between Jen and John. Since they started hooking up earlier this year in Florida, Jen has been more open and, arguably, happier than I think we’ve seen her in many years. I honestly think it’s helped with her career that she’s been so happily attached to John Mayer seeing that folks were getting a bit tired of seeing her as sad and lonely Jen — it looks much better for her to attend huge, splashy movie premieres with a guy on her arm. Even tho I poke fun at her walks of shame, I say You go girl! I’m really hoping for babies next … I’m sure some may object but I think a Mayerston baby would be so fun. Imagine the questions that might be asked of Brangelina. I think they could stand to get a bit of the treatment that Jen’s been receiving when she’s always asked about them. Mayerston, baby, 2009 … make it happen, please.
