As we move into Xmas week, it looks like Gwen and fam are really geared up and ready to get their Ho Ho Hos on. You gotta love that sweater that Gavin is wearing … one can never go wrong with reindeer. Unlike the frightful sight that Katie Holmes has been lookin’ lately, Gwen — as usual — is the image of perfection. This Xmas will be Zuma’s first so I’m sure the whole family is excited to make it one that he’d always remember … if his little baby brain were capable of remembering experiences at this stage of its development. It looks like it’s gonna be a Merry Xmas ahead!

Katie Holmes, who just celebrated her 30th birthday this week, has been running herself ragged over the past few days/weeks/months and it is, unfortch, starting to show. Here are a few pics of Katie as she made her way out of play rehearsals at the Schoenfeld Theatre this week lookin’ worse for the wear that her hectic schedule has been heaping upon her — it is not a pretty sight:

In her youth she was famed for her fresh-faced look in the teen show Dawson’s Creek. However actress Katie Holmes could not have looked more different from her previous on-screen character when she was pictured in New York. It would appear the wife of Tom Cruise is showing the physical signs of trying to juggle a rigorous Broadway schedule while looking after her two-year-old daughter Suri. Despite wearing a cheerful red winter coat, the star continued to look run-down, gaunt and tired, sparking concerns about her health. Her skin looked clammy and pasty, the scabby remains of a cold sore was still evident on her lip and painful-looking blisters were spotted on her foot as she made her way to the Broadway theatre she is currently working at. Earlier this week the star looked pale and gaunt, with dark circles and hollow cheeks, as she celebrated her 30th birthday. The actress has spent the last few months living and working in Manhattan while she stars in the production of Arthur Miller play All My Sons, at the Schoenfeld Theatre. t would appear the gruelling stage run, which Katie has been performing twice daily, is takings its toll on the star. With still another two weeks to go, Katie has also been caring for Suri while husband Tom Cruise completes a promotional tour for his new film Valkyrie. In stark contrast to his wife, Tom looked the picture of health this week following his recent weight loss. Shedding excess pounds has taken years off the Hollywood actor. Tom Cruise is expected to join his wife and daughter in New York for Christmas.

Damn … now I realize that everyone has their off days (I, myself, am lookin’ a fright today) but Katie looks like she’s near death. If you didn’t know any better, the close-up shot of her bloody foot could be a dead ringer for Amy Winehouse’s usually scabby feet … not good. I imagine that the strains of motherhood coupled with a grueling Broadway schedule is no walk in the park … here’s hoping that she is able to slow down and relax soon, the poor dear looks like she’s ready to keel over. Her unsightly gaunt pallor even makes Marc Anthony look better by comparison … yeesh! Rest up, Katie! You’re far too young and pretty to be lookin’ this frightful so soon.

Wee! Yesterday was an amazing day of DOING NOTHING and, let me tell y’all … I loved every minute of it. With all my upcoming travels (starting tomorrow night) on the way, I am really hoping to do as little as possible to rest up as much as I can. I stayed in my pjs yesterday and worked, did laundry, kinda packed and watched DVDs all day long … that was it … and it was glorious. I spent most of the afternoon watching a couple of He-Man & She-Ra DVDs — the feature-legnth movie The Secret of the Sword (which was our introduction to She-Ra, the Princess of Power) and the He-Man & She-Ra Christmas Special:

I’ve had my He-Man/She-Ra DVDs out for months now but I never got around to watching them … yesterday was the day. As much as it was really fun to reminisce about my childhood, I think I’m growing increasingly tired of the cheesiness that we kids were fed in the 80s — god, I’m getting old :( That being said, kids these days have no concept of Saturday Morning Cartoons and I think that is really very sad. While I’m not too keen about the aging process, I am very happy that I was able to live thru and enjoy the fun kidstuff that the 1980’s gave us. But I digress …

Tonight is a big night … most of Le Gang^TM are getting together for a holiday dinner so that we can spend time with one another before we all go our separate ways and fly home for the holidays. I am really looking forward to tonight … I haven’t seen Kirsten, Adriana, Jim or Derek in ages so it’ll be nice to see them. I have all of my Xmas books ready to go for each of them and I can’t wait to give them out. It shall be a blast!! The craziness starts tomorrow … after a full day of work, I need to finish packing and then catch a red-eye back to Detroit. I hope that the weather will comply and won’t keep me stranded in any airports or anything like that … crossing fingers now.

So, OK, Patrick doesn’t have a head in this pic … but really, you don’t need a head all the time, right? I’m not saying that Patrick has a bad looking head but this photo kinda just cuts to the chase and gets to the nitty-gritty. The golden tan, the blue ocean in the background … le sigh … I really miss summer. We’ve got a few weeks (and months for some) ahead of chilly weather so it’s nice to know that we can look to Hot Dudes like Patrick to remind us of the happier days of yore. Enjoy!!

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails updated the official NIN website earlier this week and posted a thank you letter of sorts to all the fans who came out in support of the Lights in the Sky Over North America Tour (and beyond) this year. Speaking directly to the fans themselves, Trent talks a bit about touring plans for 2009 and even mentions the possibility that a “small holiday gift” may be on the way. Here is the full text of Trent’s latest message:

The LIGHTS IN THE SKY era has come to a close, and I’d like to once again thank you for your support. I am very proud of what we pulled off – it was an immense amount of work and worth it all. I’d like to thank Josh and Alessandro for being an integral part of this for the last few years and I wish them all the best. No rest for the wicked here, though. We start rehearsing the new band/format first thing next year and as I mentioned, we’ll be announcing some final waves of dates. North America, UK/Europe, Pacific Rim and elsewhere. Oh yeah – we may have a small holiday gift for you soon. Check back.

As excited as I STILL am over being fortunate enough to have a one-on-one backstage conversation with TR in Las Vegas, NV last weekend I am REALLY excited at the prospect of a “holiday gift” from the man himself. With Trent Reznor you never know what you’re gonna get … it could be a new song, it could be a new album — it could be a You Tube clip of the band doing the dance routine from Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) … er, but it most likely will not be the latter (I think). I will make sure to update news of this “holiday gift” as soon as it is announced.

Additionally, TR and NIN keyboardist Alessandro Cortini are featured in a new Apple promo video for their software program called MainStage:

Amy Winehouse, who has been in and out and in and out of various medical and rehab facilities for most of this year, is currently out of rehab and enjoying a little holiday in St. Lucia down in the Caribbean. Normally, we are used to seeing pics of Amy terrorizing the streets of London in the wee hours of the morning but today we get to enjoy a few pics of Amy enjoying the sun and surf while on vacation. Oh yeah, and did I mention she is totally topless in these new pics?

IT is my pleasant duty to report that the normally skeleton-thin Amy Winehouse has finally found her figure. The troubled singer revealed her curves when she slipped off her bikini top for a dip in Caribbean paradise St Lucia. And unless I’m very much mistaken the Rehab star, who has battled drugs, was sporting a very healthy looking tum too. One onlooker told me: “Amy just whipped off her top and dived in to the sea without a care in the world. She was looking a better than she has for a while. A bit of sun is just what she needs.”

I must agree that it is a very nice thing to see Amy looking so healthy. Topless or not, seeing her sportin’ some meat on her bones is a much better sight than the usual frail, bony frame that she is famous for.
