Sharon Osbourne Allegedly Attacks A ‘Charm School’ Contestant

How charming, indeed!
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Over the weekend, Sharon Osbourne and the contestants of the VH1 reality TV show Rock of Love: Charm School convened here in SoCal to tape the reunion special for the show which is set to air next weekend. As some of you may be aware, Rock of Love: Charm School is a spin-off of the show Flavor of Love: Charm School both of which are spin-offs of their original shows Rock of Love and Flavor of Love respectively … which are spin-offs of even more original show Strange Love which spun off of The Surreal Life — AND there’s another spin-off called Rock of Love: Tour Bus on the way. Charm School is an series that attempts to teach former contestants class and lady-like poise … and Sharon Osbourne was chosen to be the host and model of class and lady-likeness. Yeah, contestant Megan Hauserman claims that Sharon O. attacked and injured her at the taping of the reunion show this weekend … which sounds about as classy and lady-like as one can get:

The LAPD is investigating an alleged brutal cat fight that went down between Sharon Osbourne and a contestant on the VH1 reality show “Rock of Love: Charm School” who ended up in the hospital. Megan Hauserman claims Sharon went ballistic during a taping of the show’s reunion special Saturday night — accusing Osbourne of running across the stage, grabbing Megan by her hair and refusing to let go. Hauserman claims Sharon (who is the host of the show) continued to pull and scratch until security eventually separated the two. Megan went to the hospital Sunday afternoon and filed a report with the LAPD on Sunday night. According to Megan, the whole thing started after Sharon took a verbal shot at her, and the Charmed School” contestant responded by telling Sharon she is only famous for managing a brain dead rock star — and then all hell broke loose. The LAPD says Sharon is a suspect in a minor battery. No charges have been filed. Calls to VH1 and Sharon’s management company were not returned.

I mean, if you are seriously looking to learn class and etiquette from someone like Sharon Osbourne, mebbe you do need to get the crap beat out of and the sense beat into you. Nothing at all about any of this surprises me in the least. In fact, as ridic as all of this sounds, I’m sure that Megan (who has already appeared on the reality shows Rock of Love, I Love Money and Charm School back-to-back) is kinda relishing the attention that she’s getting out of this incident. After the jump, check out the photo of Megan’s injuries that she claims were caused by Sharon’s attack on her person …

Vanessa Hudgens Celebrates Her 20th Birthday With Her Man

And by "man", I mean Zac Efron
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Here are a couple of cute pics of Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron out and about yesterday in celebration of her 20th birthday. As you may recall, Vanessa was on hand to help Zac celebrate his 21st birthday back in October and was with him when he vacayed in Hawaii afterward … so it was Zac’s turn to help her celebrate her birthday. The pair decided to keep things pretty low key … the most exciting thing they did yesterday afternoon was enjoy a quiet dinner together at one of their fave restaurants:

Don’t these two make a perfect couple? In fact, they make too perfect a couple which is why I’m always suspicious of the verity of their relationship … but, whatever the case may be, Zanessa do a really good job of taking care of one another. They’re practically inseparable and they do tend to look happy together. It looks like the pair enjoyed a really nice afternoon together … nothing too exciting for the big 2-0 but, then again, we have no idea how they celebrated last night. UGH, on second thought … I don’t think I want to know. Happy Birthday, Vanessa!

Hayden Panettiere Shops Because She Cares

The spirit of giving
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Heroes star Hayden Panettiere was on hand for a very cool in-store event in San Gabriel, CA over the weekend where she, in her capacity as Candie’s spokesmodel, went Xmas shopping with a few lucky girls from the Children’s Hospital in a charity promo event at a Kohl’s department store. Here are a few pics from this weekend’s event:

Except for the absolutely frightening Mrs. Claus above, the event looked like it was a lot of fun. I’m sure the girls from the hospital really enjoyed their shopping spree with Hayden. I really love how big companies and celebs themselves really get into the spirit of giving around the holidays. I guess we all get a little more generous around this time of the year … but I think it’s a really cool thing when celebs participate in events like this. Kudos and love goes out to Hayden, Candie’s and Kohl’s for organizing such a fun event. It’s seeing events like these that really help restore my faith in the humanity of celebs. Sure, Hayden’s not saving the world but I’m sure this Xmas will be an extra special one for these girls. Well done!

Penn Badgley Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

Fashion plate
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Penn Badgley, of Gossip Girl fame, is featured in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine (the one with the very nekkid, very hawt Jennifer Aniston on the cover) posing in various American style fashions. Here are a few pics from his new GQ photospread:

It’s not just our dashing, thoroughly modern President-elect drawing the world’s attention — it’s our clothes, too. As the next twenty-six pages demonstrate, classic American Style has reinvigorated the world of fashion. And it all starts with actor Penn Badgley and these essential pieces for you to short-list this spring.

I am so happy that Penn is getting his own face time in a major magazine like this. No other Gossip guys are included in this GQ feature and Penn is highlighted in the most photos. Other models in this 26-page spread include actor Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, W.) and Olympian Ryan Lochte (whose photos are so hawt, I’ll have to post them all by themselves a little later on). After the jump, check out another set of photos of Penn Badgley modeling the essential must-wears for dudes this season …

An Iraqi Journalist Hurtles His Shoes At George W. Bush

Size 10 shoes, apparently
Monday, December 15th, 2008

I mean … this story is just too incredible to not share. Over the weekend, lame duck president George W. Bush paid a surprise visit (his last) to Iraq and during a press conference there was assaulted by an Iraqi journalist who threw both of his shoes at the president’s head — narrowly missing him each time. Yelling out, “This is your farewell kiss, you dog!”, Muntadar al-Zeidi chucked his shoes at the president and shockingly NO Secret Service bodyguards were there to protect GWB. If it weren’t for his quick reflexes, he would’ve gotten beaned in the face. Here are a few screencaps from the “bizarre moment”:

President George W. Bush wrapped up a whirlwind trip to two war zones Monday that in many ways was a victory lap without a clear victory. A signature event occurred when an Iraqi reporter hurled two shoes at Bush, an incident the president called “a bizarre moment.” Bush visited the Iraqi capital just 37 days before he hands the war off to his successor, Barack Obama, who has pledged to end it. The president wanted to highlight a drop in violence and to celebrate a recent U.S.-Iraq security agreement, which calls for U.S. troops to withdraw from Iraq by the end of 2011. “The war is not over,” Bush said, but “it is decisively on its way to being won.” … But the president’s message on progress in the region was having trouble competing with the videotaped image of the angry Iraqi who hurled his shoes at Bush in a near-miss, shouting in Arabic, “This is your farewell kiss, you dog!” The reporter was later identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia television, an Iraqi-owned station based in Cairo, Egypt. In Iraqi culture, throwing shoes at someone is a sign of contempt. Iraqis whacked a statue of Saddam with their shoes after U.S. Marines toppled it to the ground following the 2003 invasion. Bush told reporters later that he didn’t think “you can take one guy throwing shoes and say this represents a broad movement in Iraq. You can try to do that if you want but I don’t think that would be accurate.” Reaction in Iraq was swift but mixed, with some condemning the act and others applauding it. Television news stations throughout Iraq repeatedly showed footage of the incident, and newspapers carried headline stories … Talking to a small group of reporters after the incident, Bush said, “I didn’t know what the guy said, but I saw his sole.” He told the reporters that “you were more concerned than I was. I was watching your faces.” “I’m pretty good at ducking, as most of you know,” Bush joked, adding quickly that “I’m talking about ducking your questions.”

To his credit, GWB really handled this insane sitch very well … at least he was funny about it. My favorite response from GWB when asked about this incident was in regards to the size of the shoes:

The man has a sense of humor, that’s for sure. After the jump, check out video of this entire incident …

Britney Spears Shops, Eats & Performs In Japan

Also wins 'Video of 2008' from Fuse TV
Monday, December 15th, 2008

Our dear Britney Spears, who made her way to Japan last week, has been keeping herself pretty bizzy in the Land of the Rising Sun over the past few days. Her official site, BritneySpears.com and her Twitter profile, has been updating us fans with photos of her adventures and it looks like Brit Brit has been getting in some vacay time interspersed with her promo work. First up, here are a few pics of Britney strolling the streets with her assistant Brett Miller as they did a bit of shopping and eating together:

Ahead of her X Factor performance, Britney Spears was on a strict diet to ensure she looked her best – and munching on a tasty burger would have been unthinkable. But yesterday the Womanizer singer was seen heading towards a fast food joint as she spent the afternoon in Japan’s trendy Harajuku on a shopping spree. Spears went to the the Lotteria chain – which has a similar menu to McDonald’s – before hitting the clothes shops. Not only was she being unhealthy in her choice of food, but she was also seen smoking a cigarette to top off the blow-out afternoon. The 27-year-old sported a black and white coat over a green polo neck top and was accompanied by her assistant and security guard. Maybe decided to have a blow-out to celebrate the success of her latest album Circus, which went to number one in the U.S. album charts last week after selling 505,000 copies in its first week of release. And after being released [in the UK], it has become her fastest selling album in the UK to date. In addition to reaching Number One in the U.S., the record entered at the top of the charts in Brazil, Canada, Japan, Mexico and Switzerland.

Um, yeah … she deffo deserves to pamper and splurge a little, I’d say. But, it wasn’t all vacationing for Britney … she also had some work to do. Here is a pic of Britney performing Womanizer on the hit TV show Hey!Hey!Hey! last night:

Altho it was the same routine she’s been performing on other TV show lately, it sounds like the Japanese audience really enjoyed it. After the jump, check out some video of Britney’s performance on the show …

And The Winner Of ‘Survivor: Gabon’ Is …

ATTENTION: 'SURVIVOR: GABON' SPOILER ALERT WARNING
Monday, December 15th, 2008

A few months ago I posted a blogpost concerning Survivor: Gabon and the unfortunate (and very entertaining) wardrobe malfunction that aired on the show (ie. the peek at contestant p33n that was shown in national television) and haven’t blogged about the show since. That’s not to say that I haven’t been watching the show but there hasn’t been a big story to talk about … until now. Last night, Survivor: Gabon aired its finale ep and revealed who the Ultimate Survivor for the 17th season of the series. In an effort to NOT spoil who won the big prize of $1 million and the title of Ultimate Survivor I will keep the announcement behind the cut … but I will reveal who the top three contestants were right here. If you’ve yet to watch any of the show that aired last night, you might want to look away or skip this post until you get to watch.

Here is a pic of the top three Survivor: Gabon finalists at the live prize announcement and reunion special that aired on CBS last night:

That’s right … Susie, Bob and Sugar made it to the very end of the game. After the jury asked questions and voted, the person who was awarded the million dollar prize and the title of Ultimate Survivor is — after the jump …
