Brad Pitt Does ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine

"Angie and I do not fight anymore"
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Brad Pitt is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine wherein he talks about his upcoming new movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (natch), the Obama victory and a few personal things on the homefront. I’m kinda bothered that he likes to call AngelinaAngie” … she does not strike me as an “Angie” but more like an “Ange” … but I digress. Here is Brad’s RS coverphoto and a portion of this interview:

Brad Pitt’s priorities have changed, in more ways than one. “I have this fantasy of my older days, painting or sculpting or making things,” the actor tells Rolling Stone’s next issue, out Friday. “But right now, it’s about getting the work done and getting home to family. I have an adventure every morning getting up.” Pitt, 44, has six children with partner Angelina Jolie. His fantasy drama, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, opens Dec. 25. Making the film made Pitt think about his own mortality. “Angie and I do not fight anymore,” he tells RS. “What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother (actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007), is that there’s going to come a time when I’m not going to get to be with this person anymore. I’m not going to get to be with my children anymore. … And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now.” He adds, “I don’t want to waste time being angry at someone I love.” And he is defensive about Jolie. When asked about a recent New York Times story critical about her relationship with the press, he responds, “It sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. … She is savvy. But one of the things I’m most proud of is that not only did these guys who follow us and make our lives miserable and get in my kids’ faces, not only did they not get the money, but it went to people who really need it.” People and Hello! magazines paid millions to charity for exclusive photos of the Jolie-Pitts after the twins’ births. “When it came to the birth of our children, a huge bounty was placed on their heads. And people were going to go to incredible lengths to get it.” And so he credits Jolie’s method of handling publicity about the family. It comes as no surprise, then, that his favorite Jolie film is 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith, in which he co-starred. Why? “Because you know … six kids. Because I fell in love.”

Awww … so cute. Still, I can’t help but ONLY think about how Brad and Ange were cheating together while they made Mr. & Mrs. Smith (which I don’t find romantic at all) but … that is SO water under the bridge. After the jump, check out one more photo from Brad’s Rolling Stone magazine spread and find out what he has to say about being in Grant Park in Chicago, IL on Election Night …

Matilda Rose <3s Her Tricycle

I <3 her
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Here are a couple of SUPERCUTE photos of Matilda Rose Ledger out for a nice ride on her tricycle in her Brooklyn, NY neighborhood this week …

… seriously, I think I’m dying of adorableness. The Uggs! That Hat! So cute. Little Miss Matilda is growing up so fast … and it still breaks my heart to think of her late father Heath every time I see her. She looks so much like him. It does make me happy to see her looking so happy. Of course she’s still too young to fully realize what losing her father at such a young age means but … seeing her smile like this is just too much. She’s a doll!!!

Pete Wentz & Travis McCoy Debut New Art Show

"Without You I'm Just Me"
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

New dad and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz and Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy debuted a new art show at Gallery 1988 here in LA last night and managed to lure a few family and friends out for the event. Titled Without You I’m Just Me, the exhibit is a collaboration of works between Pete Wentz, Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes and several other LA based artists such as Greg Simkins and Jeff McMillan. Here are a couple pics of Pete making his entrance last night with wife and new mom Ashlee Simpson (her second public appearance in two days) and Jessica Simpson with her BFF and hairstylist Ken Paves:

I’m told that a portion of the proceeds from the art show’s painting, print and catalogue sales will benefit Invisible Children, an incredible charity working closely with Pete to better the living conditions in northern Uganda. Gallery 1998 is at 7020 Melrose Ave. (on the corner of Melrose and La Brea) and the exhibit will run until December 24.

Click HERE to check out some of the artwork that will be on display and is for sale. Some of the pieces are very cool … I think the mixed media 3D paintings are my faves.

Ricky Martin & Twins Do ‘People En Español’ Magazine

Meet the Martins
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Ricky Martin, who became a father to a set of twin boys back in August by way of gestational surrogacy, is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of People en Español magazine. Unfortch, Ricky and his babies are not featured on the cover of People magazine (that honor was left for a coverstory about Tom Cruise’s Life in Pictures) but Ricky and his twins are featured inside the new issue of People. Here is Ricky and sons on the cover of People en Español and a portion of the interview from People magazine … say hello to Matteo and Valentino Martin:

Born via surrogate in early August, Ricky Martin’s 4-month-old twin boys make their debut in this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday. A joyful Martin, 36, spoke candidly with PEOPLE at home in Puerto Rico about his desire to be a parent, the decision to seek the help of a surrogate and juggling caring for twins – he has no nanny!

Describe this time in your life
I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.

How hands-on are you as a father?
I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.

Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’

Tell us about Valetino’s and Matteo’s personalities.
Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!

What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance.

HMMM … doesn’t this story sound awfully familiar? Remember when we learned that Clay Aiken became a father by artificial insemination? Yeah. And we all know what happened shortly after that baby was born. I’m just sayin’ … In any event, much congrats to Ricky on the birth of his beautiful twin boys. They really are darling. Curious that there has been NO MENTION AT ALL about the woman who gave birth to these babies. Personally, and pardon the rant, I think it’s kinda crappy that Ricky, Matteo and Valentino weren’t able to get the cover of US People magazine. I can’t believe a coverstory of Tom Cruise’s personal pictures was deemed more worthy of the cover. The Cruise story seems like such a throw-away story, one that could be used when there is really nothing else going on. BUT, at least Ricky and his boys got the cover of People en Español … that’s something, right? Click HERE to see one more pic of the Martin men. Ricky looks great as Mr. Mom. Now, if only there were one other announcement that he would make about his personal life … ;)

Meet Mary Lynn Rajskub’s Baby Boy Valentine Anthony

Baby boy meets world
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

Yesterday afternoon we saw a photo of actress Mary Lynn Rajskub at the award ceremony for Kiefer Sutherland as he received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Today we get to see who she brought to the event yesterday as her date … her baby boy Valentine Anthony! As you may recall, Valentine was born back in July but I believe this is the first time we’ve been able to see what the little darling looks like out in public … behold:

Two things … First, the little dude is, like, the cutest thing ever! Second, I kinda LOVE that Mary Lynn is giving us a trademark Chloe O’Brien (from 24) scowl in the last pic ;) He is an absolute angel … it’s so nice to finally see what the fruit of Mary Lynn’s loins actually looks like.

Jake Gyllenhaal Surfaces In Mayfair, London

Quick fix!
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

It’s been ages since we’ve seen Hottie McHotness Jake Gyllenhall out and about and absolute EONS since we’ve seen him out alone (ie. sans Reese Witherspoon) … but this week, Jakey poo did step out on the town in the Mayfair district of London, England for a little solo dinner at Scott’s restaurant:

Boo! I hate that it’s so cold in London these days cuz that means that Jakey has to be all bundled up from head to toe. I much preferred seeing him out in public back in the warm Summer months … when he wore much less ;) Still, I think Jake is able to muster up a tiny Le Sigh from me … it’s been too long. Come back to us, Jake — we miss you!!!

Britney Spears’s ‘Circus’ Is The #1 Album In The Country

Over half a million sold in its first week
Wednesday, December 10th, 2008

It’s official! Britney Spears’s new album Circus has debuted in the top position on the Billboard magazine Top 200 Album Chart this week!

Britney Spears’ latest CD, “Circus,” has landed her back at a familiar position — No. 1. The singer’s comeback CD — actually, make that her second comeback CD — will top the album charts next week, according to her label, Jive … estimates have the record selling as many as 500,000 copies in its first week of release. “This is going to reinforce her icon status,” said Barry Weiss, chairman and CEO of the BMG Label Group, which includes Spears’ label. “It’s not just a No. 1 album.” Indeed, it’s not. For Spears, who has rebounded after a disastrous year that included rehab, a custody battle for her two sons and court-ordered supervision by her father, it is another step in her bid to reclaim her status among pop’s elite. “At the end of the day, I think she is America’s pop princess, and the world’s pop princess, and this just reconfirms it to everyone who doubted it,” said her manager, Larry Rudolph. While her last CD, “Blackout,” also debuted at No.1 when it was released in October 2007, it quickly fizzled on the U.S. charts, despite receiving critical acclaim, because Spears didn’t really promote it amid the chaos in her life. Things appear to be different this time around. Spears has been showing off her dancing moves and taut body during high-profile appearances on shows like ABC’s “Good Morning America” and was also the focus of a documentary, “Britney: For the Record.” The special, executive produced by Rudolph, aired on MTV in the days before the release of “Circus.” “The documentary had a huge role,” said Rudolph. “People were able to see Britney, to see her tell her story. I think they got the true sense of who she is, and they appreciated it.” “Circus,” which debuted to mainly positive reviews, was released on the singer’s 27th birthday, Dec. 2. The CD’s first single, “Womanizer,” was a No. 1 hit, and her latest single, “Circus,” was the most added song at pop radio, her label said. Spears plans a nationwide tour that is set to kick off March 3 in New Orleans. Weiss said Jive decided to release “Circus” just a year after “Blackout” because of the strength of the music, and said recording the CD was a great constructive outlet for the singer. Rudolph said when it comes to crunching the numbers, Spears is not all that interested in how many copies she sold the first week or her chart positions. But, he added: “Professionally, she’s feeling great. … It’s great for her to hear that she’s got a No. 1 album again.” One of entertainment’s biggest names, Spears has been a multiplatinum sensation since she made her debut over a decade ago. She’s sold more than 30 million albums in the United States alone.

Woot! More great news for the Britney Comeback campaign. Unforth, this report is wrong in saying that Blackout debuted at #1 on the Soundscan chart last year … it actually debuted at #2 and The Eagles nabbed the #1 position. But that was last year, this is a whole new year … a whole new beginning for our dear Britney Spears. Much love and congrats on her latest #1 album … something tells me, it won’t be her last :)
