First Listen: Kevin Federline, ‘Grape Soda’ – PARODY

Chock full of racial stereotypes
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Pink reader Brock gave me the head’s up that Kevin Federline, who recently appeared on the cover of People magazine and at a bowling alley in Woodland Hills, CA, has released a new rap song for public consumption. Brock warned me that the track was full of sterotypes about African Americans but, honestly, I wasn’t really sure what that meant. I mean, would a Caucasian rapper really record a song that could be offensive to African Americans if he really wanted to have a successful music career? Could someone be that stupid? The answer, unfortunately, is yes:

UPDATE: Pink reader Christina informs me that this song hosted by AllHipHop.com is NOT Kevin Federline and is, in fact, a parody created by KROQ. If interested, you can click HERE to hear the track in full for yourselves but, personally, I don’t find it very funny at all. The racial stereotyping is pretty gross.

OJ Simpson’s Newest Mug Shot

Say Cheese!
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Last Friday we learned that convicted felon OJ Simpson was sentenced to upwards of 15 years in prison and today we get to see his most recent mugshot. Simpson was transferred to the High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs, Nevada and was asked to pose for this pretty picture before getting thrown into his cell:

It is my sincere hope that this is the last image of OJ Simpson that we will be seeing for many, many, many years to come. Enjoy prison, OJ!

Nicole Richie Visits Red Square In Moscow

In the red
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Nicole Richie has been spending the last few days in Moscow, Russia as the personal guest of designer Kira Plastinina and managed to spend some time out and about in the city to take in some of the sights. Here are a couple pics of Nicole doing a bit of sight-seeing in Red Square:

Nicole left her beautiful daughter Harlow Winter back home in SoCal with her father Joel Madden, I believe, for the first extended time away since she was born last January. I’m sure it’s difficult for Nicole to be away from her baby girl but I’m sure she’s also really enjoying the alonetime. Here’s hoping Nicole gets home safe and sound and back in baby’s arms real soon.

Kiefer Sutherland Gets A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

The 2,377th
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Kiefer Sutherland, star of Film and TV, was honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in a ceremony that was held on Hollywood Blvd. right next to the famed Roosevelt Hotel. Here are a few pics of Kiefer along with family and friends at today’s award ceremony for the 2, 377th star on the Walk of Fame:

Emmy Award-winning actor Kiefer Sutherland received the 2,377th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday, just more than a month before the season premiere of “24,” the Fox Broadcasting series that made him a worldwide star. His father, actor Donald Sutherland, and Joel Schumacher, who directed Kiefer Sutherland in four films, joined him in speaking at the late-morning ceremony next to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Sutherland was born Dec. 21, 1966, in London while his parents, both actors, were working there. The Sutherlands soon moved to California, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1972. In 1975, Sutherland moved with his mother, Shirley Douglas, to Toronto, where he spent the rest of his youth. Sutherland made his acting debut in the 1983 film, “Max Dugan Returns,” alongside his father. The two also appeared together in the 1996 film “A Time to Kill.” He appeared with his mother in “Woman Wanted” in 2000. His first major motion picture was the 1984 Canadian drama, “The Bay Boy,” which earned him a nomination for a Genie Award, the Canadian version of the Academy Award. Sutherland’s other movie credits include “Stand By Me,” “The Lost Boys,” “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me,” “A Few Good Men,” “Flatliners,” “Young Guns,” and “The Three Musketeers.”

While Kiefer was pretty amazing in Stand By Me, The Lost Boys, A Few Good Men and Flatliners (to name but a few of my fave Kief movies), I love him most for his portrayal of Jack Bauer on the hit FOX series 24. It’s amazing … you never think about how many films a person has appeared in until you see them listed before you … Kiefer has been working his ass off and I am thrilled that he is finally being honored for his accomplishments. I love that his castmates from 24 (most especially Mary Lynn Rajskub) came out for the ceremony but I think I like the pic of Kiefer with his father Donald the most. Much love and congrats, Kiefer! You have deffo earned this honor.

‘Twilight’ Mania Hits Paris, France

Catherine Hardwicke is a good sport
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Yesterday we learned that Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has been fired from any future directing duties of any of the forthcoming Twilight Saga films (which many Pink readers were happy to learn) and today we get to see pics of Hardwicke with Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart smiling pretty for the cameras at a photocall for the film which took place at the Hotel Crillon in Paris, France last night:

I must say … it really looks like Catherine is being a good sport in these photos. I bet it’s difficult for her to continue to promote the film after learning her fate from the movie studio. That being said, she worked really hard on Twilight and I can understand why she would want to do everything she can to make her film as successful as possible. Good on her for keeping her head held high.

"I'm a 'put on a show' kinda girl"
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Britney Spears, who released her new album and celebrated her 27th birthday one week ago today and who released her newest music video this past Thursday (after the vid leaked to the Interweb the day before), has unveiled the cover artwork for her new single Circus … check it out:

This photo is hawt, y’all. I love this artwork much better than the artwork for Womanizer. I am dying to hear remixes of Circus … the song is so infectious as it is, I bet the remixes are gonna rule.

The Candis Shop

The TV Guide
Tuesday, December 9th, 2008

Last night I met up with Steph, Alek and Darion for a little din-din at Fat Fish on Robertson Blvd. in West Hollywood, CA before we went over to Eleven to have a drink with a friend of S&A who works there. Then we all made our way over to The Abbey to watch Candis Cayne (one of the stars of the late Dirty, Sexy Money) perform her weekly show. I’ve heard many great things about Candis’s show and once I heard she was doing a performance of Beyoncé’s Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It), well, I just had to see her for myself. Here are a few pics from her show last night:

Folks … she was amazing. She told some really funny stories, broke the news that she will be appearing on 2 eps of Nip/Tuck next year and, of course, put on a few performances that were just … amazing. After the jump, check out Candis’s performance of Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
