Xtina Aguilera talks to the LA Times about her new Greatest Hits compilation Keeps Gettin’ Better: A Decade of Hits (which went on sale today exclusively in Target stores) and manages to talk about all the usual stuff (you know, all the Blah Blah Blah). Then the question about Lady Gaga comes up and the claims that she has been “copying” Gaga’s style and look … to which Xtina responds …
What do you say to those on the Internet who are hinting that you borrowed Lady Gaga’s look?
You know, that’s funny that you mention that. This person [Lady Gaga] was just brought to my attention not too long ago. I’m not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don’t know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn’t sure. I really don’t spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect.
LOLOLOLOL! Best.Answer.Ever. To be honest, I first thought that Lady Gaga was a man as well … she tends to hide behind big sunglasses and covers her head up with cowls — I guess I, too, assumed she was a drag queen. I now know that she is a real girl but, I guess I can’t fault Xtina for thinking the same thing that I thought. Who knows how Gaga will respond to this quote from Xtina but we may be witnessing the birth of a new celebrity feud, y’all. Pick your side now — Team Xtina or Team Gaga?

I think Lady Gaga is not that good at all. I’ve listened and I think she’s cr__p. Maybe I need to hear more? Not impressed. Xtina has a voice, has cleaned up her act, and has never been a mess. She gets my vote, even though I’m hardly a fan of her music.

I love Xtina’s voice, and I’ve never actually heard of Lady Gaga. Although, it seems like Xtina is always making some kind of snippy comment about another celeb (Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, etc.). I love her, really, but the girl needs to learn to think before she speaks.

Yeah, Christina’s got an amazing voice. But GaGa ALSO has a superb voice, she writes all her own music, her performances are always RIDICULOUS, and she’s the best entertainer I have seen in a long time. She takes everything into account.

I saw Lady Gaga last night as the first act at the New Kids on the Block concert in St Louis. She worked her ass off on the stage in what looked to be about 4 inch heels at least. It was a pretty hot performance, I must say. Especially with her 4 male dancers and the videos playing in the background. NKOTB even had the whole arena doing a dance off to “Just Dance” later on in their show and everybody was in to it. By the way, NKOTB was awesome and Jordan has an AMAZING body (he took off his shirt off to tremendous joy of everyone).

After previewing the rest of her album on Amazon, Just Dance is the only song that I like with Paparazzi a close second. So maybe I see her as being a two hit wonder. LOL

I have never been a fan of Christina’s over-the-top screechy singing or of her passive-aggressive bitchy comments over the years towards my girl Britney but I do appreciate that she is supportive of the gay community.
She just comes off as SO insecure. All that crazy makeup, the ridiculous boob-job, “changing up” her style every other minute – it just seems so desperate. Whatever your opinion of Britney, the girl definitely knows how to keep it real! That’s why people still are so loyal to her I think. Christina should stick to songs like Beautiful because that is what people want from her. She is a vocalist, period. She won’t ever be Mariah or Whitney, nor will she ever be Madonna – she just needs to accept that. She is stuck on being a pop star for whatever reason when that is so not her calling.
I always remember how at the 2003 VMA’s, Madonna got Britney that 15k “B” necklace to match her “M” one and didn’t get one for Christina. And how she was so pissed at all of the attention that they got over their kiss, while hers was basically ignored. That’s the story of her life I think. Chasing something that she can’t quite reach.
