Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Put On Their Game Faces
A few Twilighters seemed miffed at my joking post yesterday about Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart lookin’ gloomy at the Rome International Film Festival this weekend where they were on hand to promote their new movie Twilight. So, to make up for that egregious offense, here are a couple new photos of the pair posing for promotional portraits shot by Elisabetta A. Villa at the St.Regis Grand Hotel on Halloween in Rome, again, to promote their new movie together:

To their credit, they look very serious and preternatural in these photos … which go well with the tone of their love affair in the movie Twilight. Thus far, we’ve only really seen bits of the couple’s chemistry in the meager commercial spots and trailers that have been made available to us. I’m curious to see exactly how the romantic interplay between Bella (Kristen) and Edward (Robert) plays out over the duration of the film. While I generally enjoyed the books overall, there were portions that I felt were far too schmaltzy … will that still be a problem in the movie or will there be a huge dose of realism added to their interactions? Lest anyone think otherwise, I am really intrigued by this new movie … I’m curious to see how the books will come to life. Even if R. Pattz and K. Stew shun any notion of hair brushing, I deffo think they will be able to bring their beloved characters to life.

Lesson #1: Don’t mess with Twilight fans
November 2nd, 2008 at 3:04 pm
She could smile and not look so pissed off in every pic I see of her…and this is coming from a Twilight fan. I found nothing wrong with your first post. Personally as a fan of the books, there is still a lot there is still a lot to prove from this movie.
November 2nd, 2008 at 3:06 pm
I cannot wait to see the movie but I have not read any of the books and I have no interest in reading them. I absolutely adore Kristen Stewart, I think she is an incredibly talented young actress.
November 2nd, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Search the MTV Twilight videos on youtube. Rob & Kristen have amazing chemistry and it’s pretty obvious they’re friends off set… Plus Rob was a fan of Kristen before this project.
I think it’s going to make the movie even more amazing.

Pattinson is an excellent actor but Kristen Stewart is very over rated. She has that monotone manly voice which is very off putting. She seems incapable of showing emotion in performances. I’m looking forward to seeing Robert Pagttinson as Salvador Dasli. From what I’ve read of the London reviews he kicks ass.

November 2nd, 2008 at 5:39 pm
okay twilight was an OKAY book, nothing to loose our rags over.
harry potter was 546845456 times better.
November 2nd, 2008 at 5:45 pm
anyway i agree with you trent. She was to “oh nos, my beloved vampire is not 5 inches away from me. After a quick fall down the stairs and dinner making i’ll drive my shitty ass truck that i refuse to get rid of to check and make sure my ONE AND ONLY TRUE LOVE WIT DA YELLER EYES isn’t fighting any WEARWOLVES!!1!1!! And check on my BEST FRIEND jacob who for some reason even though i LOVE edward i cannot seem to stop talking to or hugging”
November 2nd, 2008 at 5:47 pm
ok laynie
u are mentally insane
and ok book?
just OK?
u need to have a psych check cause harry potter is an ok book
and twilight is 10000000000000 times better
also if this is a twilight post, why are u commenting on it if u don’t even like it?
November 2nd, 2008 at 5:53 pm
I also hope the movies are realistic. I liked the books while I was reading them, but in hindsight…they could use a dose or three of realism. Bella could have been a kick-ass role model but instead she fawned over Edward for four books, and he babied the hell out of her. I hope, hope, HOPE the movies are more realistic.

Their eyes are so intruiging!
Sorry, had to point that out.
I heard it was an amazing book.
November 2nd, 2008 at 7:55 pm
I’ve been hearing praise for the book from all my friends.. so I’m guessing that the book is really that great.
Hearing that it’s about vampires… oohhh I just love Vampires. : ) I just can’t wait until the movie comes out ! Hopefully the movies is just as fantastic as the book is!

Twilight is simple fiction. Which is not to say that it’s bad, the writing style is just simple. The story is wonderful and sexy, but it is in no way in the same league as Harry Potter.
If anyone ever wants to compare Twilight to Harry Potter, they need to read Breaking Dawn again. At least J.K. Rowling knows how to end a series by exceeding the expectations of hundreds of millions of fans! That being said, Rob is gorgeous and I have no doubt that the film will be a fun experience:)
November 2nd, 2008 at 9:53 pm
I completely, 100% agree with ck_love (the post above mine)
I love twilight, it’s a great ficticious escape. And no matter what anyone says, this book really is a “girl” book, but a lot of my guy friends have read it and they don’t mind it. then again, they’re exceptionally cool like that.
but yeah, harry potter and twilight aren’t even in the same league, and this is coming from a girl who has a routine of checking for all twilight updates before going to bed. i’m not a twilight “fan” though, they connotations are just way too crazy. harry potter is just infinitely better planned out. (jk rowling spent YEARS outlining her book, Meyer spent a summer. and a dream) what would you expect.
November 2nd, 2008 at 9:58 pm
also, meyer never was a ‘writer’. it wasn’t even her major. this book was just a fantastic whim, and i’m glad she acted on it. so for people who are looking into this book for this female empowerment and ‘role model’ theme, which is cool and all, i highly doubt she woke up to a dream, which she just had to write down, because she was interested in the girl. it’s the whole bella and edward thing, total youth adult fiction. totally no strings attached, sensual stuff.
November 2nd, 2008 at 11:51 pm
Boogie– LOL… i totally agree!!! it’s just not cool…
i happen to love twilight and everythign about it… i’ve converted 7 friends to love the books as well… :)
if you’re looking into reading this book because you want a literary masterpiece then you should look elsewhere… thats not the reason we love the book… it’s because it’s a awesome/fun read.
i think people who don’t like it take themselves WAY to seriously, and need to just let loose a bit.
but really, the reason we were upset w/the fist post was because he honestly picked THE WORST PICTURES there were out there… i mean honestly… there were like a million better ones!!!!
okay. that is all… for now…. but really- don’t piss off us twilighters, we take this stuff seriously, lol!!! :)
—CAN’T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE TO COME OUT!!!!!!!!!! :)

Twilight! Twilight! Twilight! Me and my coworkers already bought tickets for the midnight showing!

I dont’ t get twilight. too Mormon (NO SEX) and has a stalker/ obsessive vibe. domestic violence=bad.
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:38 am
nairobigrl- you seem like the exact type of person i would never want to meet…. maybe thats just me, i dunno…..
November 3rd, 2008 at 12:57 am
Heh. Basically ‘Twilight’ fans are silly, rabid, addicted tweens. They will tear you to shreds even if the movie and the actors suck, because they actually believe in vampires, and think they are one. They think the idea of vampires is sexy, even though it isn’t.
They are that rabid. Oh yes.
Does the guy play the vamp, though? The girl looks like the walking dead in the photo. Oh no Twilight fans…that was a compliment! :O
Oh I’ve not read the books. I can’t say the plot appeals to me in the *slightest*. It’s been done better with Buffy.

Here is a link to some great photos of the Twilight premier in Rome where it shows Rob and Kristen having a great time. I think people are just trying to get attention with the negative crap they post. Seriously! BTW,

i just think people are freaking out over really nothing
the books were okay but everyone just dithered on for about 15 years. It took half the book for something to even HAPPEN!
I never said i hated them, i read them all, they weren’t the BEST BOOKZ IN DA WORLD though.
But what the hell do i know, i’m apparently MENTALLY INSANE.
November 3rd, 2008 at 9:26 am
TskTskTsk.
I’m an avid twilight fan, I REALLY got into those books, but I don’t understand the craziness of some people. It made me dream and hope, I totally love Edward, he’s the hottest guy ever. BUT, from what I’ve seen in the commercial, Kirsten will not do Bella justice. It’s as if people told her “Okay, Bella loves Edward like crazy, but she’s troubled, so act troubled.”
In the latest commercial she always has that stupid tone that gets on my nerves. It’s halfway between stressed out and confused, I don’t know how to describe it. I don’t think she nailed the character at all.
In the pics, I like Robert’s, but I think Kirsten’s too gloomy. I would picture this Bella more “post-vamp”. The human Bella shouldn’t look like this.
My long two cents lol xD

” Even if R. Pattz and K. Stew shun any notion of hair brushing,”
omg… trent you crack me up. i love your blog!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 10:42 am
Probably the most amusing part about Twilight fans is that they refuse to acknowledge that Meyer is a sub-par writer. Oh my god, did I just really say that? Yes. If she had taken a writing class, or even had a strong editor, these books would have been infinitely more readable. I read all four books, and I cringed through every single page. The plot was interesting, but the writing was over the top and childish. Okay, quick, tell me what a jerk I am for having this opinion!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:09 am
ok is it just me or do these 2 kinda look like they could be brother and sister??
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:28 am
christine, it’s not just you, I was going to say that they look like siblings!
November 3rd, 2008 at 11:51 am
they really do look like siblings. anyways, it’s cute how frantic and nuts people can get over anything to do with this movie. actually more like this book series
it’s a bit stupid but eh
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:20 pm
I think she looks like a younger Lisa Marie Presley with that little pout.
Guess if that’s the look she wants to cultivate, then YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:28 pm
i couldn’t agree more. i hope that they really do have great chemistry in the movie since the book is all about them, haha. and yeah maybe they can cut back on the over shmultzy stuff just a smidge, but man i can’t wait either way.
November 3rd, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Wow…!
You are SO forgiven!
lol!
I love these pictures!
November 3rd, 2008 at 2:08 pm
I so don’t want to see this movie. I read the books and enjoyed them (though I think Harry Potter is better) but my biggest problem is that in every single trailer I’ve seen Kristen Stewart is FLAT AS HELL. No emotion whatsoever. It drives me up the freakin wall.
I’ll catch it when its out on DVD.

First, i think Kristen (who plays Bella) is pretty.. but i somehow dont think she is ‘right’ to play the character due to her manly voice. Her voice is jus… bleh.
Rob Pattinson is just ok. I still think Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald of Gossip girl) SHOULD play as Edward.
