I loved that Jessie came back! The combination of him and Carson was what got me to watch my first episode. It’s always sad to see such a positive show go off the air (I too stopped watching a while ago because after Carson left it never was the same). Why can’t they just bring back the old MTV and let the MTV generation have our fun?

I also had the pleasure of being in studio back in 01 when carson was still a host. I actually got to be a contestant in a pop trivia game they did the day i was taping. I lost cause the answer was about o-town and who really knows anything about them.. lol

this post makes me feel old haha. . . TRL was def at its best when Carson was hosting. That was back when they actually showed the entire video (or most of it anyway) and MTV was THE best place to premiere a video, a album, a movie or basically anything else you’d want noticed. And then they had all the special eps for events like when the BSB took over for the Millennium release and NYPD shut down times square…. ironically, bad the only person who failed to make TRL a springboard for an awesome career was Carson Daly (his late night show does not count!). He basically made TRL what it was though, handling every awk moment from Mariah stripping to Eminem bashing Christina (and Fred Durst, and his Mom, and everyone else), to his own awkward interview with Tara Reid and the American Pie cast after they ended their engagement. …Oh TRL, how you remind me of my pre-pubescent years…..sigh

this is so sad. i literally grew up with trl. it came on when i was like 11 years old. i remember watching nsync and britney and everybody that i love. it’s really sad. i have to admit i stopped watching a couple of years ago but i knew that i had to watch the final episode. i think they did a wonderful job. trl got the finale it deserved.

I grew up in Europe, and we had our own versions of TRL. But I can safely say that the US version is way better.
