16-year old Miley Cyrus, who participated in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC yesterday, got a jump start on her Xmas shopping this week by hittin’ up the big stores on 5th Ave. in Manhattan this week … and she brought along her 20-year old boytoy/BFF Justin Gaston along with her … here are a few pics:
I suppose I could make a joke about the danger of traveling across state lines with a minor but since the Cyrus parents were along for the ride, well, I guess the joke wouldn’t really work. I understand that the Cyrus family and Justin Gaston all stayed at the same hotel … which makes me wonder what the sleeping arrangements were. I mean, I’m guessing that Justin didn’t actually have to pay for his hotel room but did he get a room all to himself or did he have to shack up with any particular member of the Cyrus family? I get that Miley likes to say that she and Justin are “just friends” but you gotta wonder how close these “friends” really are — and how much support they get from her parents. It’s all still very creepy to me but … that’s showbiz, I guess.

Justin kinda looks like he’s giving Miley the cold shoulder in these pics. She’s reaching out to him in all of them, and its not looking like he did any reaching back! Maybe he’s finally realizing she’s only SIXTEEN?

Trent, it’s 4 years. Girls mature faster. It’s really not that big of a deal. Time to stop making the creepy comments and get over it.
p.s. Not to hit too close to home, but I suspect that there is a greater than 4 year difference between you and David and no one is calling you creepy!

The fact that she looks like she’s dragging him in every picture is humorous.
I’m sick of people saying, “It’s only four years!” The fact of the matter is she’s only 16 years old– this bullshit about it only being four years doesn’t work because at that age she hasn’t emotionally matured enough to be with an adult.
And even if two adults have a four year age difference, there is no way you can even compare. Someone who is 26 going out with someone who is 30 is completely different since both people are 1) Adults 2) Not completely hormonal 3) They both have had enough life experience to make proper judgements.
And to be very honest, most people I had know were completely different from the age of 16 and 18.
It isn’t creepy. I don’t have much respect for any of these people, but the age difference is not weird at all. And, FWIW, there is no where in the Free World outside a few states in the US (and Ireland and Northern Ireland, where it is 17) where 16 is not considered old enough to decide for yourself.

Kristin, Trent is a grown man. If he is over the age of 18 he can date whoever he wants to as long as they are legal.That comparison is beyond stupid and ridiculous.
She is 16 NOW. She was 15 just a few days ago. She isn’t that mature and when she was 15 and he was 20 that was 5 years difference, and if they were having sex (probably), that’s a crime.
Personally, I see this whole thing as a very sad attempt to get publicity. He’s using her for the fame, and she’s using him so everyone will be like “OMGZ MILEY IS DATING A 20 YR OLD!” Its pretty sickening….

Trent, J and Jessica – i couldnt agree with you more about the “relationship” between miley and whatshisface. its creepy. its wrong. the age difference of “its only 4 years” is ridiculous because there IS a difference between 16 and 20, while there isnt so much at say 26 and 30. there is a massive difference between even 16 and 18. im 20, and i cannot imagine dating a 16 yr old. the actual difference in life experience, maturity, mentality etc. is incredibly different, and the fact she’s famous really doesn’t make a difference. at the core, she’s still a 16 yr old girl dating an adult male.
and to Shazz ^^ – how naive are you to think a 20 yr old would date a 16 yr old and not expect to have some sort of a sexual relationship? he doesnt strike me as the most “christian” of men, i dont care how many times they shove in our face that he attends church.
the fact of the matter is, we WILL comment because WE CAN. she’s famous, she makes headlines, people talk. the whole “get over it” speech is so passe. of course it doesnt affect us, but it doesnt mean we cannot discuss it.
