Kanye West Busted … In The UK!
Word out of the UK today is that Kanye West was arrested on assault charges in Newcastle early this morning after ALLEGEDLY whippin’ a paparazzo’s ass. You may recall that Kanye got into a similar altercation with the paps at LAX airport in SoCal back in September … but no charges came from that incident. Well, guess what … no charges came from this latest incident either:
Oh dear, Kanye West’s been a naughty boy. Allegedly. The rapper was arrested in Newcastle early this morning for assaulting a photographer outside a nightclub. Kanye had been partying at Tup Tup in the city, but left the club just after 1am. Photographer Terry Blackburn claims to have suffered cuts and bruises after Kanye pushed his camera into his face and shouted at him. He was then arrested at the Hilton Hotel but released without charge.
And so … Kanye West is, once again, free to ALLEGEDLY beat the ass of any photog that strikes his fancy. Meh. I guess it comes with the territory. Who knows how long Kanye will be able to get away with assaulting paps around the world but my guess is that he’s going to keep enjoying the practice for as long as he can.

He is the “voice of my generation” so he shouldn’t be bothered with something like the police or the law. On a side note I love his new song. I can’t wait to buy his Album!!

I hate him and his Mother would be ashamed. Yes he is constantly followed by them but he needs to appreciate it and give it a rest. He has this ego that he is the #1 artist in the world-HA! I also think he led to Madonna’s demise, even though she brought it upon herself to work with him. The only decent thing about him is that he’s respectful of the LGBT community. Other than that, trash.

Well, I like the guy. I enjoy his music and while I feel sometimes he blurs the line between confidence and complete annoying arrogance… he IS super talented AND what he said about Justin Timberlake…. well, he is right.

I’m with Bleeding Ears… he’s talented and he is #1…and it is lonely at the top. I don’t know if I could handle the paparazzi up in my biz either and I might just have to go off. Kanye is one of a talented few out there in hip hop in a sea of mediocrity so he has room to be a little cocky.

I agree with Christine…. Kayne always wants to be number one, showing off, and never afraid to insult anyone. Yet he doesn’t know how to deal with the effects of being “NUMBER ONE” as he wants to be.

That’s ridiculous. That’s pessimistic to say ‘Don’t strive to be the best you can be because others (paps) can’t control themselves’. Whatever! If I know I can do it, I’m going to do it. But the Paps ARE ludicrous. There needs to be decency and boundaries.

ok then PITNBer, maybe that came out the wrong way, i didn’t mean not to do the best you can BUT if you are lucky enough to make it to the top, SHUT THE FUCK UP about what you don’t like. all that stuff comes with being at the top. and that does not give someone the right to assault others b/c they get annoyed. “regular” people get annoyed at others all the time bit we can’t go around beating people up over it.

Yes, he’s arrogant. Yes, he’s also talented. If you listen to any of his lyrics, it’s his arrogance that drove him to the top. EVERYONE said that he was just a producer, he couldn’t rap, and he got no respect until Jay Z picked him up. The reason he’s got a massive ego is because he has earned it — he never gave up on his dream and pursued it no matter what people said. While it’s easy to write him off as an egomaniac, I think it’s harder to see Kanye for what he really is — an inspiration to never give up your dream, no matter what anyone says. Yes, he needs a good does of humility, and I think he got that with his mother’s passing. His new album is emotional and raw, a very different side to Kanye that will be illuminating for all to hear.

While being hounded by paps is part of the terrority for celebs, being assaulted for your constant invasion of privacy is something that comes with being the paparazzi. I don’t feel bad for him nor the paparazzi.

I’d like to see a video of this alleged ‘assult’ – I can’t imagine how stressful it would be to have those flashes all over the place all the time… the pap shouldn’t be close enough that they’re able to be ‘assulted’ – they should have to keep their distance. Poor Brit last year couldn’t even walk down the sidewalk because they would block her way so they could take pictures of her. that doesn’t ‘come with the territory’ of being a celebrity – they’re entertainers!! it isn’t entertaining seeing them almost get in car accidents because the pap are snapping so many pictures they can’t even see the road

and at times even after they’ve asked the pap to back off (everyone has a bad day.. why can’t celebs have a break once in a while?) they still persist.. hounding them with useless questions and taking pictures or video of every step
