‘High School Musical 3: Senior Year’ = Best Picture?

The industrious kids at Oh No They Didn’t! have compiled a bunch of For Your Consideration ad posters that will be published in the hallowed Hollywood magazine Daily Variety meant to suggest Oscar nominations for various categories to members of the Motion Picture Academy. This year’s batch of For Your Consideration ads are pretty standard (I really love the WALL•E and Batman: The Dark Knight ads) but one in particular caught my eye:
LOLOLOLOLOLOL!!! The folks at Disney CANNOT be serious, right? This HAS to be some sort of joke … RIGHT?! They don’t really think that High School Musical 3: Senior Year is worthy of a Best Picture nomination … RIGHT?!?!?! LOL! I mean … what? Words fail.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. honestly i have never laughed so hard.. yeah HSM 3 is fun for kids and some adults, but it no way shape or form should it be considered for best picture!

LOL that’s so pathetic. I tried to watch 5 minutes of the first one and wanted to blast my brains out. It is pure torture. If this even gets NOMINATED I will be outraged!
Those folks have collected a huge amount of adverts for the Oscars, but what one of the commentators said rings true for HSM3. “GTFO!” :)
I actually loved this movie. PITNB is definitely not its target audience. The movie is well made.
The movie was great. It definitely is not for everyone, but it was very well done. Visually stunning, excellent singing and dancing. I’m not saying it will be nominated or win, but I don’t think it’s laughable that it would be considered.

Definitely not worthy of a best picture nomination, but i think one of the songs could be nominated for a best song
it actually was very well-made although IMO definitely not oscar-worthy. as for the songs, with regards to its target audience, of course it could be considered. the movie had a great soundtrack.
I don’t know why you think this is a joke but I think it is very insensitive because there are people who actually like the movie and think it is worthy of a nomination.
