So … tonight, at the stroke of midnight, Twilight the movie officially opens in theaters here in the US and I (along with thousands of people across the country, I’m sure) will be at one of the midnight showings in LA:

I would like to take this opportunity to remind y’all that you still have until Monday November 24 to submit YOUR entry in the Twilight Prize Pack contest that I am currently running here on the blog (in case you missed hearing about it, click HERE for deets). This weekend would be the perfect opportunity to take some fun vampy pics for the contest entry:

Show me what YOU look like as a character from Twilight and you could win the awesome prize up for grabs. You can also send in pics from the midnight showings tonight for posting with the PITNB Readers pics on Saturday. Have fun … I’ll be lookin’ for y’all’s pics :)

Just got back from the movie. Absolutely amazing. Definately worth waiting in line for 2 hours in the theatre to go in and get good seats.
During the movei the screen went blank for 5-10 seconds and I seriously thought there would be a riot if it didnt come back on haha.
I loved it!! I’m with Bexx – I usually hate the movie adaptations of my fave books (I really don’t even care much for the Harry Potter movies) so I was expecting to be a bit disappointed but it was awesome!! Most of the changes worked really well with the story, the chemistry between Edward and Bella was great, there were a few things here and there that were a bit odd/forced feeling but overall it was AMAZING!!! I think the trailers really didn’t do it justice. I can’t wait to see it again and buy the DVD so I can fast-forward to my fave parts! :) Can’t wait for New Moon too!!!!!!! *GRIN* :)
Just came back from movie and was very disappointed. There were too many laugh out loud moments that weren’t even suppose to be funny. Kristen Stewart ruined it for me. The only good thing about the movie was getting to look at Rob Pattinson, but his acting was subpar. I still hope it makes enough money so they can make a second one. Hopefully, it will be drastically improved.
Just got back and I LOVED IT! The action, the drama, and even the humor were so perfect. I was worried that the film would be slightly bleak but the moments I laughed when reading the novel are the same moments I laughed at in the movie! That kissing scene was AMAZING… TEAM EDWARD!!
Michelle r u crazy did we see the same movie? That had to be the worst movie ever made and i am a true fan of the books.Robert Patterson is the worst actor. I am truly disappointed,Plus how did u see the movie and post at 12:32?
ok sorry about the time thing
Is it just me or was that the sexiest movie ever?
I agree with cristina. Kristen Stewaet ruined it for me.
I agree with cristina.
I Loved the movie
Are you kidding? It was awful! Edward was mentally deficient for the first half of the movie. Not to mention that they decided to cut out a bunch of parts of the book and instead did these stupid montages. The flashback scenes were ridiculous, the makeup was awful (hey if you’re going to make someone pale you might not want to leave them with a mask that ends at the chin line), the cinematography was amateur, and I can’t image that the director was sober. You guys say Kristin Stewart ruined it for you, I have to say Robert Pattinson didn’t help it either. I can’t blame either of them because I’ve seen them in other movies and they normally can act. I loved the books, I gave up sleep to go see the movie at midnight, and I have to say that it was painful. I had to actually hold my hand in front of my mouth to keep from laughing out loud during some scenes i.e., the glitter skin scene, or the first time he smells her in the science lab, but the cream of the crop was when her was sucking her arm. Do yourself a favor read the book again and skip the movie. And to the people responsible for making it, let someone else take on the next one. You not only didn’t do the book justice, but you made it a laughing stock.
The entire movie and book is a complete joke.
I cannot believe people paid MONEY for either.
I agree, Jaded. The movie was TERRIBLE. It could have been a lot shorter if they cut out the hour of the film the two just spent staring at eachother. Carslile’s makeup was the worst, I could see failed attempts to cover up a pimple on Bella’s top lip, and the only character I really believed was Charlie.
SPIDERMONKEY? Are you kidding me? Edward would never say anything that ridiculous.
My friends and I laughed at the most inappropriate moments, but so did the rest of the audience. Although I liked the books, I doubt I’ll see any sequels, if they’re made.
I still can’t get over the spidermonkey thing.
I just read the book in two days… I WASSSSSS excited about seeing the movie… but now I have lowered expectations. Oye…
I read all the books and love them. I even re-read to catch things I’d missed. I was all excited to go see the movie tonight, but after reading these comments, I’m really nervous….:(
I thought that there was a lot that they left out of the movie, and the part that lead up to the relationship was entirely too short and it skipped through it really fast. However, I like it tho overall. Definitely doesn’t compare to the books but I thought it was a cute, good movie.
Obviosuly the movie isnt going to be as good as the book, come on now. Movies are never as good as the books. To put everything from the book into the movie would have made the movie waaaaay too long. There we some parts in the movie where I was disappointed, but thats part of life. I’m glad there were moments of humor in the movie because if there wasnt it would have been entirely too serious and people might have gotten bored.
People have their own opinions, obviously, and I respect that, but in my opinion I didnt think the movie was terrible. Kristin Stewart did not ruin the movie for me and I thought she played Bella well. Rob Pattinson if beautiful, and I liked that they made Edwards dry humor come out a little more. Yes, some of the stares and looks given in the movie were a little ridiculous, but who cares.
I think everyone should go see the movie. I dont think it’s quite as terrible as some others are saying.
I loved the books so I was worried about the movie b/c I NEVER like the movie adaptation of books but I LOVED this movie! I would definitely see it again and plan to buy it when it comes out on DVD. Yes, some things were changed and there were some flaws – some of the special effects and makeup could have been done a little better – but for me it was about the relationship and the chemistry between Bella and Edward and I think Rob and Kristen did an excellent job with that! For me, the movie evoked the same fluttery, first love type memories/feelings that the book did.
Jenna, regarding the relationship in the movie being too short, remember in the book that there’s only a week between when Bella finds out Edward is a vampire and when the climactic ending happens. It’s the pining and mooning over each other that goes on for months. The movie just reverses it a bit, which I thought worked well, and had her finding out about him quicker but had their actual relationship appearing to go on for a few weeks or months before the climax.
I think most of the Twilight fans will like the movie so go see it with an open mind and ENJOY! :)
I’m going to see it Sunday b/c tonight and tomorrow are sold out. I’m honestly not expecting Oscar worthy performances, but nothing is ever as good as the book.
Kristen Stewart has had me worried for months now. She just is NOT Bella.
I am so utterly disappointed. As a writer I don’t usually take the time to read teen novels, but I gave the series a chance and fell in love with it. This movie was only good for a laugh, and I’m pretty sure that was only to keep me from crying throughout it.
