MTV won’t premiere the new, very candid documentary film titled Britney Spears: For The Record until November 30 but today we are getting our first taste of what sort of information will be presented in that film. Talking very candidly about her recent troubles, Britney gives her perspective on the things that have transpired in her life and the ramifications of her actions. Likening her life to a “jail sentence”, Britney reveals — for the first time, in her own words — the pain that she has been dealing with over the past months and years:

Britney Spears says that since her breakdown, her life has been worse than a jail sentence – but that she’s slowly healing one day at a time. “I have really good days, and then I have bad days,” the singer, 26, admits in a new fly-on-the wall, 90-minute documentary, Britney: For The Record, to air in the U.S. Nov. 30 on MTV and in the U.K. Dec. 1 on Sky1. Struggling to gain control of her life again after her public meltdown earlier this year, she says candidly: “Even when you go to jail, y’know, there’s the time when you’re gonna get out. But in this situation, it’s never ending. It’s just like [the Bill Murray movie] Groundhog Day.” She adds, “I’m having to pay for it for a really long time.” Spears was hospitalized for mental evaluation in January, which resulted in her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, being granted sole custody of their sons, Preston and Jayden. Her father, Jamie Spears, also gained legal control over her affairs. “If I wasn’t under the restraints that I’m under right now, I’d feel so liberated,” she says in the film, which follows the singer as she records and promotes her new album Circus. “When I tell them the way I feel, it’s like they hear me, but they’re really not listening.” A camera crew followed the singer for three months as she moved to pull her life back on track. “I wanted to make this film because I started to feel like I wasn’t being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in,” Spears said. “This is an opportunity to set the record straight and talk about what I’ve been through and where I’m headed.” Overall, she says, “I think I’ve learned my lesson now, and enough is enough.”
Wow. I can’t even begin to imagine what Britney Spears‘s life is like, especially in the wake of her breakdown, but from the outside looking in … I can’t imagine that her life now is worse than it was when she was spiraling down in a tragic mess all last year long. When she was under the control of Sam Lutfi, Alli Sims and Adnan Ghalib she looked hopeless and lost. These days there is a sparkle in her eye and a sense of purpose. I realize that she may think she is still “paying for” her breakdown but, to me, it looked like she was in a deep, deep hole. You can’t just climb out of something like that and expect to be 100% free again. Again, I can’t profess to know what her life is like but I know that I am thankful that her parents stepped in to take control of her life and her affairs after her breakdown. Who knows what her life might be like if she were allowed to continue on her tragic course towards travesty.
Her life is far from tragic these days … with a new album about to drop and plans for a new world tour, she really does have something to keep her active … something to work towards. After the jump, check out a few dance rehearsal photos that have been recently added to BritneySpears.com as well as a photo that was snapped on the set of her new music video Circus …

While I’m anxious to see this new MTV documentary, I’m a bit sad to think that she may not be as happy as she appears. I will always root for Britney Spears in the hopes that she will be able to find true happiness in her life. Click HERE and HERE to watch two short promo vids for Britney Spears: On The Record and remember to tune in when the film airs on 11.30 on MTV.
UPDATE: Sky1 is offering up two different, longer video promos for this documentary. In the first, Britney talks about her marriage:
In the second, she talks about using dancing as therapy:

I cannot wait to see her documentary on mtv either!
i’m loking forward to watchng this. but, i agree with you trent. it would be really sad if she isn’t as happy as she seems. i guess it goes to show, you never really know what is going on with someone
*looking
oops
I hope this turns out better than when Michael Jackson attemtped a similar ‘view’ into his private life
umm ya that excerpt is from the sun in the uk which is a tabloid magazine so i would recant what was said or atleast provide the original source. Fret not, shes fine!
No, the excerpt is from People magazine who got it from MTV.
Trent, she probably is better now but that doesn’t mean she feels like she’s doing well. We’ll never know all the bad stuff that’s happened to her over the years, especially b/c of the assholes you mentioned. From what I’ve heard at least Sam Lutfi abused her in various ways, plus any drug/mental health problems she has. It’s probably going to take her a long time to be ok again, nevermind happy.
yay, trent commented on my comment, sorry for the inaccuracy, i was reading some other shiz this morning! thanks dude!!!
this is random, but i feel like I am having a meltdown. My partner broke up with me, and I feel like I am heading towards a breakdown. Any pointers to getting through this hell? ( you should start a advice column trent lol) but seriously, you seem put together. What can I do?
Hey Joey,
I would say that when you feel that you’re going to go through a meltdown the best thing to do is reach out. Reach out to friends and family. They will get you through it. It will be tough, don’t get me wrong. I’ve suffered through depression and relapses over the years but you will get through it. Tust me.
I can understand what she’s saying though becuase her life really is like a jail sentence i mean is their anywhere in the whole world where people don’t wanna peice if Britney?!! Maybe she means if she handled thing’s a bit differently (Less public partying and so on) People would not be as interested then she would be able to have a good career and personal life, Idk but im so happy to see a lil bit of the old BritBrit back again!
Hey Joey, Jackies right you should surround yourself with friends and family right now and dont hold everything in get everything of your chest because that can really drive you crazy (speaking from experiance lol).
Joey – gots to agree w/ tmak & jackie. & remember, its okay to be on your own. i just went thru an 8-year marriage that ended in divorce. it took time, but i’m much happier on my own!
Sounds like Brit. needs to work through her “I am a victim” BS!
OMG i cannot wait to see this. I am becoming such a fan and the new album is awesome!
here’s another one not sure if its old or not http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.....re=related
i think that she’s obvs at a better place now than she was during her breakdown, but it probably feels worse for her since she prob had no clue what was going on back then.
i’m so proud of her for trekking through her problems!
Britney will never tell the true story. I think when her star started to fade and Jessica was on all the Tabloid covers it scared her also after the Madonna kiss and the attention it got she couldn’t get enough and had to be on the blogs everyday good or bad i bet she speed more time on X17 then she did with her boys now she just gives to much of herself on her on site Britney still has a sickness for attention.
I. LOVE. BRITNEY.
Reach out to your friends Joey, all the others (nae, tmak, jackie) who posted on here about this are right……..surround yourself with people who love you. The other thing is, allow yourself to feel the pain and work through it. I am a graduate student finishing my Master’s in Marriage and Family therapy. I tell all my friends don’t be afraid to feel sad (or whatever you feel)………give yourself permission to deal with this……..ugh, sorry to keep going, that’s the therapist in me……..lol……..;-) take care and hope you feel better………
