‘Britney Spears: For The Record’ Airs On MTV Tonight
Tune in

Don’t forget that MTV will be airing Britney Spears: For The Record on their network tonight at 10PM with a 1-hour countdown special leading into the documentary’s airing and a 1-hour wrap-up special following:

At long last, we will finally be able to see and hear from Britney Spears in her own words, from her own perspective after months and months of watching her life from the outside. Tonight’s documentary is an absolute MUST-SEE for all Britney Spears fans and, I suspect, a great many critics and detractors will be tuning in as well. Folks in the UK will be able to watch the documentary when it airs on SKY1 tomorrow night but the doc world premieres on MTV here in the US tonight. It shant be long now, y’all. Make sure you leave your comments about the program after it airs right here on the blog. I’m anxious to see the documentary myself but I’m equally anxious to hear what y’all think of it yourselves.

lemme just say, gud show brit. i am so glad she did this. shes right, we don’t really understand. all the crap she has to deal with! the paparazzi r fucking insane! i know its there job, but they need an end of day, so she can have a couple hours of bliss. when she said how she was only in l.a. becuz thats where the boys r, it almost made me cry, she is risking her sanity to b near those boys, and i commend her for that. she does seem sad tho. like she said she has gud and bad days, but she’s human….

  3. brady james says:

…and shes taking responsibility and taking control of her life. yes she needed help, but she will push thru, and she will come out on top!

on the positive side, she IS fucking hilarious. anyone who saw CHAOTIC wud know that. and her boys r adorable! very gud! and i cant wait for the new video! she will have everything she wants, she deserves it all. love u brit!

I think whats best about this documentary was that it showed how humble and caring she is…she isnt some diva bitch like people make out…she may seem cold when the paparazzi take pics of her but all celebrities are like that. I know she will pull through I just wished she could find someone that can love her as much as she wants to love someone..then I wouldnt worry about her so much lol.

The only thing I was upset about is that she didnt mention directly that sleeze sam lusfti and what he did to mess her up…

Britney Love U Long Time xx

Definitely a powerful glimpse into Britney’s life. There were so many parts that made me want to cry. I don’t usually feel this way towards celebrities but something about her seems so real and vulnerable to me. My heart just goes out to her and I so badly just want her to be well and happy. I hope she someday finds someone who will appreciate her and be a good partner for her. I think the doc showed that it’s not too soon for her to be back working because it clearly gives her a sense of order and purpose. I know my work keeps me sane when I am going through rough times. I think she loves her work and is grateful for what it brings to her life but I also think she’s just someone who has a lot of love to give and only feels complete when she has an outlet for that. I think that’s what she was referring to when she said there is no passion in her life. She doesn’t even get to have her kids full-time so she can’t really devote herself full-time to them anyway. I really think she is doing the best she can and I wish her well. I think you can’t really help but root for her since she really does seem like a normal sweet girl who just hit the big time and didn’t always deal with it in the best way. I hope as time goes on, she will get her freedom back. No one deserves to feel like a prisoner. She didn’t break any laws and she mostly just hurt herself during her dark period so although I want her family to take care of her and have her back, I also think she deserves a real second chance too. On a more superficial note, girlfriend looked fierce in that pre-show interview – that outfit was hot! I’m definitely excited for the album and the new Circus video. Team Britney FTW!

Loved it, but I’m concerned because there were some contradictions such as “I love what I do” vs. “there’s no passion”.
I have a sinking feeling that despite the return of her mgmt and her father’s conservatorship Britney is being made to return to the spotlight too soon. I mean, she’s doing MUCH better now than she was this time last year, but it’s also clear that she is not yet ready. She is not whole, but she needs to be whole – for her kids and for herself.
That said, I wish her luck to get thru it all and I totally hope to see a genuine smile on her face soon :-)

The doc was so sad and impressive. I know it may sound stupid but I also started crying when she cried. It was so emotional !
That’s the documentary all those haters should watch because they would see she’s no dumb blond at all, just a human being seeking for some love and respect from the others.
Though her life seemed to be a mess, she managed to put it all together which is kinda fantastic when you see that she’s still a little bit depressive.
About what happened at club G-A-Y, I do think that the ones who are to blame are the clubgoers cause they were like mad and she was not even set to sing or anything…. just to make a quick appearance.

  9. Katie says:

The doc was amazing. I was so impressed.
I thought it was going to be cheesy or not very informative but I was proven very wrong.

When Britney said “I’m sad” my heart broke for her. Someone get this girl to a private island with her kids and a man like she wants.
    Poor thing.

But she looks amazing and is sounding like the old Britney again. Let’s just hope this is what she really wants and this won’t turn out to be another down fall.

We’re all cheering for you Brit!

  10. Tessa says:

It was just so strikingly sad. She is an amazing person who looks to be so strong, but it was evident in almost every aspect of the doc that she is just a sad sad girl, who is desperately craving a different kind of life. The scene where she was at dinner after the show, did anyone else notice how she was just sitting back watching the conversations happen? I think it just goes to show how reserved she now knows she has to be even when just starting a conversation, because honestly, who knows what someone might do to her? She probably has to think about every conversation she starts because the next day it could be all up on some tabloid cover. I almost feel guilty because it is people like you and me, her fans, that she loves and that make her who she is, but she’s become so huge that it might be good if we all just stopped watching this girl’s every move for a while. Talk about a Catch 22. In any case, she looks amazing and healthy, I hope she’s really ready, I never want to see her back where she was. Brit, we’re all out here pulling for you, and we’ll never give up on you, don’t look back, sweetie!

  11. Curious says:

It’s amazing to me that so many people think she is just a “normal girl”. There is nothing normal about being a celebrity. When a “normal” person messes up, we don’t get to make a video to gloss over our screw ups. We don’t get scripts and re-writes and edits and lighting. We don’t have a manager helping us, or millions of dollars behind us.
There is a whole team of people whose paychecks depend on Britney coming out of this smelling like roses.
Maybe those tears were real, maybe they weren’t. Any performer can cry on command. Maybe this documentary is real, maybe it’s not. We will never know the REAL Britney. The girl you see, good or bad, is who her PR people want you to see. Who do you think decided a Tell-All Documentary was a good idea in the first place? Who made the decisions to leave out details about her family? Who decided to focus on her relationship with the paparazzi? Odds are, these weren’t even her decisions. And making her dad’s conservatorship seem like it’s damaging her only serves to make her manager look even better to the general public. It’s all about CYA. Historically, managers benefit by separating celebrities from their families – more control over the star means more money for them.

I’m not here to hate on Britney. Just sayin that people need to think about the motivation behind what celebrities do before giving meaning to them. Deciding somebody is fantastic, in control of her life, sweet, funny, vulnerable, or whatever based upon a documentary – made BY the celebrity and her PR team – might be building her up too high, too fast.

  12. Julia says:

I thought it was amazing. I have never stopped loving Brit, even during her darkest and weirdest days. I think this documentary provided a new perspective on her life that will help some of the more anti-Britters crowd understand that she isn’t crazy – she is just doing her best to deal with an extremely crazy life. Despite how sad she seems, you could tell at times (like when she was dancing) that she does have a lot of that fire back whether she says she feels passionate/excited or not. She looks great and seems to be back on the right track.

I also thought the Madonna interview was right on point. While most people can make mistakes and learn from them without much scrutiny, every step Bit Bit takes is examined and reexamined in the tabloids/media. It isn’t fair to judge her by the same standards, because most people do a lot of dumb things that no one ever has to know about. I mean, imagine that every mistake you ever made was caught on tape and seen by millions of people. Yikes! The humiliation and embarassment would be overwhelming. She does an incredible job staying strong despite some very public and very motifying breakdowns. We love you Britters!

  13. Ashley says:

I didn’t even know it was on last night until I was flipping through the channels. I watched it until the end, because I wanted to hear it from her, not from the magazines. I felt so bad for her, especially when she was talking about how nobody she talks to really understands her, and she got teary eyed. I just wanted to hug her.

I remember everyone talking about how she got out of the car at that one place and got right back in because of the crowd. Well, once we saw it from the documentary camera man’s perspective, it was easy to see how scary that could have been.

You get a lot more out of watching actual film and hearing HER perspective than seeing pictures and seeing only glances from TMZ or something like that.

I’m glad she’s making a come back. I’ll be at the store to buy her new album tomorrow!
